In the broadest sense, any non-Christian or Muslim spirituality... in modern times, and taken generally, a spiritual person with Earth-based beliefs. Paganism itself is not a religion, although some religions fall under the umbrella term (e.g. Wicca, Druidism). I practise witchcraft, as do many modern Pagans (or, as some call us 'Neo-Pagans'), but not all Pagans practise witchcraft... and, by witchcraft (at least, for me), I mean energy based prayer and magick (spelled with a 'k' to differentiate from magicians and tricks)... most Pagans (including myself) believe magick may only be used for good, and if it is involving another person, it may not affect their will and they must be aware of and give permission for the spell/prayer to be done/given. I believe in giving back to the Earth what we have taken from it, symbolically of course (no human/animal sacrifice). I am a vegetarian, as are many Pagans, but not all Pagans are vegetarian and not all follow the same belief system. I refuse to deny the possibility of the validity of any faith and the only time I will judge religion is if it is causing people to negatively affect others. I follow what is called 'the Wiccan Crede', which, in short, is "An' harm ye none, do as ye will" (although I think the actual old English is just used for aesthetics, as Wicca is a relatively new religion, less than 100 years old).
I am considered an eclectic Pagan, as I never settled into a set religion, although I study a fair amount of Wicca. I, personally, believe in a god and a goddess, or (more specifically), male and female, dark and light, positive and negative energy that balances Earth and us... so I believe in leading a balanced life.
Sorry for the long post, but I hope that leads some clarity. smile
