Well, they have a special bone that they move up and down their throat to make a deep drumming sound to call each other. They can run 35 miles per hour, and have spurs on the back of their legs for defense. Their brain is the size of a peanut because their eyes take up most of their head and they can see for up to a mile with them. Unlike the ostrich, the emu can fly for distances of about five feet.
