I don't think we can really debate this any further.

But that's blatantly disrespectful to the founders and the religions themselves. You're basically saying that you're allowed to do it, since it happened anyway. Well, murder happens. Can I murder people now?
Who's to say that that wasn't wrong too? If they challenged what Christ wanted, then who are they to say that Christ was wrong about his own teachings?

When two independent people create two independent practices, they don't suddenly become the same thing without any sort of influence from the founders themselves. Show me such influence. Show me that Cochrane and Gardner joined forces somewhere along the line.
Otherwise, you're just blending two separate things without reason.
And once again, if Gardner is right, which he is, since he's the founder, then Cochrane is wrong by default. I'm not sure how hard that is. It doesn't matter that Gardner himself never challenged it. Further, he had no ******** reason to challenge it, since Cochrane never ran around saying that his practices were the same as Gardner's practices.
You seriously have no argument here.

He never referred to it as Wicca, he referred to it as the Clan of Tubal-Cain. I'm sure to sound like an a*****e for this, but seeing how little he respected Gardner and Gardner's followers, I don't think he would appreciate you mixing up his practices with Gardner's.
Sanders was still initiated, and still became one of the Wica.
Cochrane has absolutely nothing to do with Wicca.

You know, I've yet to see mention of him being initiated into Gerald Gardner's religion. In fact, Wikipedia only says that he made his own religion, although I'll keep looking into it.
Who initiated him into Wicca, by the way?

And assuming that Gardner didn't actually get on Cochrane for it, what would it matter? Gardner introduced it, Cochrane contradicted them, one has to be wrong, so it's Cochrane by default.

I would like to see a source for these dealings between Cochrane and Gardner.
You're telling me that I can practice proper etiquette by setting the table however I want.
You specified how a "Christian" acted in an earlier thread.

...But that still makes you a Neo-Pagan.

You do realize you're still a Neo-Pagan, whether you want to believe it or not, correct?

No, I started treating you like someone that insulted a group of people, one of which is a good friend of mine, that you don't even know for standing up for their beliefs, which they have evidence for, by accusing them of being 'pure-blooded' and "Christians".
Who is Robert Cochrane, and if he contradicted Gerald Gardner, then why should I care about what he has to say?
I can already tell that that's wrong, since the word Wicca was, in fact, used before Gerald Gardner. All you would have to do is look up the word's etymology to see that. No, Hutton proved that Wicca, the religion itself, does not predate Gardner.

And I'm still not sure how it makes sense to say that you're Wiccan when you contradict the definition of a Wiccan. It's like telling me that a circle is a square.

Ronald Hutton proves that the religion doesn't predate Gardner.
Gardner proves that Wicca requires initiation.
I'm not seeing how you're right and I'm wrong here.
And when did I assume that you're just a twelve year old angsty kid?

I don't know.
You do realize that I don't see my argument with you as irking you for fun, but rather, as telling you that you're wrong, proving it, and having you ignore it, right?
