- THE PAVILION
Some people thought he was a ghost. Others, an urban legend. But the older generations knew, they had seen him as a child, peeking out from behind the Taoist, (who was thought to be) his guardian, small hands clinging onto the only person he was familiar with. A few even claimed they grew up with him. But while they've aged and now walk around town brandishing their canes threateningly at young no-good-doers, he still looks as young as he had been 50 years ago. In fact, sometimes he looked even younger...
An immortal, some called him.
The townspeople think he lives in the pavilion on the island in the lake, but the pavilion is more like a spacious gazebo than anything else. Whenever courageous youths try to follow him home (which they tend to do as a proof of bravery), he simply vanishes into thin air, leaving behind only the faint smell of incense that always seems to follow him wherever he goes. But occasionally, very occasionally, you can catch him on a clear night toasting the full moon, admiring the moonlit lotus blossoms that the lake is famous for.
The lake and the flowers themselves were strange as well. Despite being summer flowers, there have been a number of sightings of the flowers at full bloom during winter. But no matter how hard people tried, the blossoms were always just out of reach.
"They're flowers of illusion," he said, his voice just barely audible, as if he did not wish to be heard. "Empty blossoms of hope, wishes, and regrets. Dreams of the living, and of the deceased."
Leaning on the railing, he poured the wine slowly into the lake, barely making a ripple. As if attracted by the sweet wine, tiny orbs of light emerged from the moonlight-- fireflies?
"A present, for those of us who have shed our mortal forms, but do not yet wish to leave," He emptied the bottle. "A present, for those of us whose loved ones do not wish for us to leave..." setting the empty bottle down, he raised his cup in the direction of the lake, the moon, the lotuses, and the light.
"For those of us, still living a dream."He downed the cup in one gulp, then turned the cup upside down, as if showing someone that he had indeed finished his half.
His gaze returned to the flickering lights. A few had settled into the lotuses, giving the blossoms a gentle glow. Tracing his finger lightly along the glowing petals he whispered,
"Would you like to take one home?"

Mysterious immortal that seems to live at The Pavilion, though usually there are no tell-tale signs of anyone living there. Appears to have two forms: a man in his late teens/early twenties, and a child between the ages 8 and 12. Often seems oblivious to his surroundings and does not usually commit things to memory.
Hu Muoh Li ::
A young and proficient (though somewhat eccentric) doctor that moved into town a year or two ago. Having grown up near an European settlement, Muoh Li is quite knowledgeable of Western customs and even employs Western medicine on occasion. He believes the exchange of culture and knowledge is important and so imports and sells western goods on the side in an attempt to increase cultural awareness. He also has a keen sense of smell and occasionally seems somewhat... fox-like.
Wu Yao Tzong ::
A strange and eccentric (read: likely crazy) Taoist fortune teller that is almost always accompanied by a large snake. He lives alone (with the snake) in a rundown Taoist temple and is often seen conversing with the snake. He seems to think the snake is his grandfather. Weird though he may be his fortune telling skills are fairly accurate when he's not nervous and frazzled. Unfortunately, those times are rare.

Hope ::
You have acquired a pretty little Lotus flower from a creepy mysterious person! He tells you that it feeds on wishes, hopes,and other wispy things, such as incense, not water. The incense smell will always be following you around now, so pick a scent you like. It also glows and makes a nice nightlight. Whatever those light orbs are, they don't seem to be fireflies after all...
Purity ::
Somehow, the Lotus has turned into a cute child that smells faintly of the incense you were using. The child is a blank slate, and remembers nothing (or nearly nothing) of life before you. By the way the child is asexual.
Blossom ::
After interacting with other people (RPs) your child grows up and (possibly) decides on a gender. Due to the circumstances of their birth they cannot age any further, but they will look pretty forever.

Depending on character development and role-playing, your child may be able to reach this stage and fully awaken.

There are two main ways to obtain an ethereal blossom; through events and bribery for a custom.
- EVENTS
Events will be any combination of the following depending on artist productivity. They generally happen every few months and will be announced ahead of time if one is to occur.
Flat sales :: All flat sales are prompt based.
Auctions :: Happens when we don't have time to draw more children. Will usually be accompanied by some other mini event.
Other :: Raffles, role-playing contests, etc.
- CUSTOMS
:: All customs are bribes.
:: Depending on how swamped with work she is, the artist will be more or less inclined to accept bribes.
:: A detailed list and explanation of the different custom types can be found in the Guild.
:: If you are certain you want a custom, PM a form to the mule.

- Q :: Are they RP required?
A :: Yes. Not intensive, but yes.
Q :: Are customs open?
A :: Not yet, there will be an announcement when they are.
Q :: Why aren't they open yet? It's been forever and a half!
A :: Because I'm slow and need money to stay alive. To get money I need to do manual labor that generates income. Unfortunately (unless you can convince me otherwise) in the foreseeable future I do not see art being able to generate enough money (or any at all) for me to live without needing an actual job.
Q :: What's my best bet in bribing you?
A :: Depending on my workload at the time, it could be lower or higher though higher is always more tempting. Generally a sweet item or two of decent value should be a pretty good call. It also correlates to how complex a design you have in mind.
