Thread Rules:

1:: No stealy
2:: Rules will be changed as necessary
3:: No spamming, excessive cursing, chatspeak ect..
4:: Don't whine if lose a flatsale or miss out on something. We have a very low tolerance for whining.
5:: No refunds. If the artist doing your child goes AWOL the art will be finished by someone else.
6:: Send trades RIGHT AFTER you win ANYTHING. You have 48 hours to do so before your prize goes to someone else.
7:: There is a limit of once child per owner until they reach the teen stage. After you have a child at teen stage, then you can see about more children.
8:: Don't try to cheat this rule by using a mule. If you're caught, you will be blacklisted, the child will be taken away, and no refunds will be given.
9:: Co-owning is not allowed for flatsale and raffle children. Auctions will state in the rules if it is allowed or not.
10:: First infraction is a warning, second is blacklisted except on rules where blacklisting is specified.
11:: If you have to leave Gaia, give us notice.
12:: These are Rp required. See the Rp section for more rules on it.
13:: If you don't like the concept, or are offended, please don't flame the thread. This concept deals with religion, and not always in a positive light. You don't have to be here, so if you have a problem with the shop's concept and plot, please leave. Personal problems may be brought to the attention of shop staff, however.

FAQ

1:: How Rp intense are they?
Moderate to heavy, depending on how you want to play it.

2:: What's the difference between a custom and a event kid?
Customs get to choose what their child looks like during the first two human stages as well as choosing what scroll the child comes from and suggestions for their skill. We have the last word on skills though.

3:: I don't get this. Who should I ask questions of?
Tara_Nepion - the creator, Nikiana - the rp manager, or Dgcakes - the shop helper. They have a good grasp on things. They can help you out.

4:: What are the classes, fighter, mage, and healer for?
It is not required you pass all the classes. They are broad categories that most of the classes fall under. Depending on the persons skill they are required to take one class under these categories. IE: If a child has a magical skill, they must take one mage class to learn to control it. Or like Reign, learning how to use her tail effectively. The other levels are just there so you can broaden your character and to remind people there are limits to what the characters can do.

5:: Mage! I wanna take that class!
Unless the characters skill is magic based, they will not be able to use magic. How will you know? The first post in the journal will have a description of their skill when it appears. It will state in there what category the skill will fall under. Most children, even magic based skills, cannot do magic, unless stated. Just their skill.

6:: I want to rp in this but I don't want to pay for a kid.
That's fine. You can rp one of the 'NPCs' like a teacher or something. Just discuss it with Nikiana or Tara_Nepion first. As a matter of fact, rping with us without a child is a great way to 'earn' discounts on a child or first dibs on some special kids. You might even get the chance for a meta plot child!

Non-secret History: Not everyone has a chance to fullfill their potential. For most dieties this wasn't even a consideration. Did it matter to them what happened to these extra hero potentials? All except one god, the Unknown God, a secretive diety. He saw not only the people's potential, but also the future. He knew that one day, not far away, a people would conquer their world. These people would trample the gods, magic, and miracles until they were nothing but myths and dreams. In the potentials he saw a way to fight back. The Unknown God struck a deal. He would give the people a chance to exercise their potential, if they would fight to bring back the gods sometime in the future. Historians were to be his intermediaries in this deal.

History known only to scroll children and Historians:

What was not commonly available knowledge was what the Unknown God decided to do. If people were just left alive things would become tense with accusations of favoritism. But people could not simply be resurrected. Eventually a solution was hit on. Those who accepted the Unkown God's deal would undergo a ritual to seal them in scrolls until they were released. A few hand picked followers of the Unknown God were apointed to over see the ritual and relic for the sealing ceremony. These few were called, Historians.

Over time the scrolls were collected into the Royal Library of Alexandria, hidden away in the Museaum, the temple of the Muses. Little were they to know that fate was conspiring against them. A great fire struck the library burning centuries of wisdom and knowlege. Unable to save the more mundane scrolls, the Historians had just once chance to save the Scrolls. They gave their lives to send the scolls far, far, away. After the fire no one could find the scrolls and many believed they were lost. Although they could not find the scrolls, the few Historians left continued their duty. But theirs was a dying breed, fewer and fewer Historians continued.

Then, one day, in the middle of a ritual, the relic dissapeared. And for decades that, was the end of that. Historians faded to become a legend, and most was forgotten.

Recently a young woman has surfaced, claiming to be from the scrolls, along with a mysterious young man, who claims to be a Historian. Though some doubt her authenticity, more and more strange youngsters are appearing. Have the scrolls resurfaced?

Metaplot Timeline:

December-January: Rescue Nara! And what's this? Some kids are unsealing by themselves?!? But....
September 30th: Nara is found to be kidnapped by the Templar's.
October 31st: A stranger called Grand Master Petrus announced he has Nara and she is for the moment alive. His young companion taunted Mr. Mysterious with this.

Scrolls:

Scrolls have little to no imact on the world around them, though if they are touching the souls may speak to one another.

The owners of scrolls may have recieved them any number of ways, though none know exactly what they are at this point. At the end of this stage, Nara and her partner have tracked down the scroll and the ritual is ready to be performed.


Toddler/Child:

Depending on how old the person was when they were sealed away, they may be a toddler or a child when they are unsealed from the scroll. The children may show some signs of alteration depending on how the scroll was sealed and stored.



Advanced Child:

At some point in their childhood the scroll children begin to develop strange abilities and or physical changes.



Teen:

The child will eventually turn into a teenager. At this point they may begin to remember their life prior to being sealed.


Adult

As the scroll children reach adulthood they will either remember all or none of their life. Nara puts no obligation that they help out at the Library with the other scroll children but they may find themselves drawn in regardless.

Nara: The first scroll child to return to her form. She keeps her story, and her talents to herself, often perfering to appear all-knowing. Still, she does seem to know a lot about what's going on and is a pretty good person to talk to.

Mr. Mysterious: Nara's partner. No one really know's what his name is, except perhaps Nara. He's been nicknamed Mr. Mysterious for the deeply shadowed cloak he wears and his refusal to speak.

Dr. Smith: Quite possibly the last remaining Historian, he's long been looked down in the academic community for his crackpot theories about the Royal Library of Alexandria.

Professor Aziza: Head of the Gaian branch of the Neo-Royal Library of Alexandria, Professor Aziza is only nominally aware of the Scroll Children.

GrandMaster Petrus: Head of the Templars. He doesn't seem to fond of the Scroll Children.

Rules
1:: No chatspeak, leet, or action posts (ie: *Dg hit you with a stick*). Rp must be of a literate quality. Literate being the basics of English grammer, ie: punctuation, capitalization, and spelling
2:: No godmoding. Control your character and only your characters
3:: If two months pass without you rping your child, it will be put on probation. You will be warned in thread and in your journal. If you do not return within a month, your child will be rehomed. If you do return after your child has been put on probation, you don't risk losing them unless you vanish again.
4:: Tara can and will remove the child from your care if she sees abuse of the probation period. Your child will be rehomed if they have been put on probation more than once.
5:: If you do have to leave and warn us, your child will be hiatused till your return. However, if you do not plan to return or do not believe you can for a very long time, you may request for your child to be retired or rehomed.
6:: Metaplot events have special rules. As the first metaplot showed, rp cannot always be done in a timely manner. Thus, for subsequent metaplot events, all participants must post once a week. If the week goes by and you haven't posted, you're out of the metaplot. Metaplot events count as a playdate unless otherwise noted.

Roleplay IS required for these pets. Each stage has a requirement for growth to the next stage. The forms below are guidelines, Nikiana may add official rp events.

PD = Roleplay between your scroll child and another, previously unknown, scroll child.
OPD = Roleplay between your scroll child and someone else's child (known, unknown, or even non-scroll children)
JRP = Journal entry or solo roleplay.

Scroll -> Toddler/Child:: One JRP describing how you first came upon the scroll, one unsealing PD (void for magical/mythicals), and minimum of one week.
Toddler/Child -> Adv. Child::One PD or OPD and two JRP, minimum of one month.
Adv. Child -> Teen:: Two PD, one OPD, two JRP and one class, two months
Teen -> Adult:: Two PD, two OPD, four JRP, and one class, four months
Adult -> Priest:: 2 PD/OPD, 4JRP, One JRP demonstrating financial independence, 1 class, 1 Mentor Class with a younger scroll in the same skill area, Completion of Priest Quest*
*Priest Quest:: This must be done in order; 1 PD with Nara, 1 JRP researching diety, 1 event- Finding diety (semi-unique), 1 JRP/JE over scrolls thoughts, 1 event- Proving self, 1 event- Aqquiring worshipers, 1JRP/JE over scrolls thoughts, minimum of four months

NPCs/Questers

A quester may petition to play an non-scroll owning character (NPC). This can be a teacher for the children or so on and so forth. They must display diligence to this shop (and their quest) and submit an rp sample. If questers desire to play a roll other than teacher it must be discussed with the shop staff.

Puberty. The time when a body begins to change in strange ways. When it becomes ready to support new life. However, just because a body is capable does not mean that the person is responsible.

!. Scroll Children may officially breed at Adult or older (if their diety allows it). However, they must demonstrate a romantic entanglement with their partner. Unfortunately, M;iM does not have the technology to allow same gender partners to have children.

2. One thing to keep in mind that a pregnancy may result from any dalliances, at any time. This will be up to the staff to decide and the owners may choose to pay or the staff will keep the child for adopting out. In the case of teens getting accidentally pregnant, the child will be removed from the parents care by the staff of Musaeum. No fee will be incurred.

3. The scroll children are mistakes. Pregnancy will not be easy and the staff reserves the right to throw complications to the parents. A paid breeding will always, eventually, result in a living child. However, accidental breedings may sometimes result in a miscarriage, or worse. Too many miscarriages and a woman may become sterile.

4. Any unpaid children revert to the shop for adoption. Paid children belong to the parents. They may be under one parent to rp, given to a friend, or given to the shop to raffle, auction, ect.. proceeds given to be divided between the parents.

5. Rules and explanations may be added at any time.

Customs will be pretty steep as it is an additional load to the artist's burden. For a custom you will need to discuss it with the artist. If they are not listed below as open for customs, don't even try. Harassing the wonderful people who help me with this shop will get you blacklisted.

Regardless we will not do angel/angelic, demon/demonic, or fairy.
