I have nothing to wear!
Have you ever heard a lady make that claim? Well, I'm here to tell you, this lady seriously had nothing to wear! I wasn't saying that while looking at a closet full of clothes either. The closet was bare.

Worse yet, there was a ball coming up and I had been invited! Oh! The horror of having to attend a ball in a peasant dress or nurse uniform! *gasp* I simply wouldn�t go if I didn�t get a proper outfit. But the ball only comes once a year! If I didn�t make it to this one, it would be a year before I would have another chance. So, I posted; I polled; I answered silly quizzes; and I opened a custom bouquet service in the exchange. With a little help from a couple of friends, I completed a nice formal outfit for the ball, and just in time!

But was the horror over? No way! A lady can't go around in formal attire every day. The weather was changing, and becoming warmer and I went to my closet to find I had nothing to wear! So, I hit the shops for a little window shopping and picked out items for a nice little outfit, perfect for the warmer weather. I picked flowers, caught bugs, made bouquets, and advertised every chance I got. I posted; I polled; I rated; I bought and resold; and finally I had an outfit I actually felt nice wearing. (Nice enough to win an avatar contest!) This outfit even earned me a few random compliments from strangers and if that doesn't make a lady feel good, I don't know what will!

But, alas, some friends were going to the beach and they were all decked out in their swimsuits. The cafe I liked to chat in was getting a new hot tub too. So, once again I went to my closet to find I had nothing to wear! I watched the marketplace for bargains, spent hours looking through the exchange and used the means I'd learned to earn that Gaian gold! Dear friends and kind strangers sent me flowers and bugs. I was getting closer, only two items left! But would I make it in time for the hot tub? Only one day remained when Sir Calen, a most kind and generous man, completed my quest!

And so, this is where you find me. Standing before my closet with nothing to wear. Determined not to miss out on another fun event because I don't have the clothes for it. Determined to fill this closet with outfits that make me feel good.

This thread will be used to help me keep track of my progress and to remind me of the many wonderful and generous people who help me along the way.

My very first outfit was a nurse uniform (the bouquets were added later.) I still have it and it is featured on the images for my bouquet service in the exchange. Kittine donated 100g to help me finish this outfit and was the first person on Gaia to give me a gift. *huggles* I also received donations from a few charities for newbies, that I paid back in the form of donations as soon as I was able. I currently serve as helper, staff or crew on a few of them and have met many wonderful and nice people. Links to these charities can be found in the Link Swap section below.

The Most Amazing Day!
Saturday, June 24, 2006

I received TWELVE gifts in less than 24 hours, from late at night on the 24th, until the morning of the 25th. The gifts were not only incredible, I even had an entire outfit quest finished in less than a day!
The excitement begins here.

Because it is so surreal and almost unbelieveable, I'm copying the "opening" of the last gift I opened on the 24th (only because it was wrapped differently than the others, it was actually the third gift I received.)
