Strawberry Panic! revolves around the lives of several adolescent girls all attending one of three affliliated all-girl schools which share a campus and dormitories, that include: St. Miator's Girl's Academy, St. Spica's Girl's Institute and St. Lulim's Girl's School. In addition, many of the students who reside on campus live in what is most readily referred to as the Strawberry Dorms, though the proper name is Astraea Dormitory, named after Astraea Hill where all of the institutions reside

The main heroine of the story is Nagisa Aoi, a young girl entering into her fourth year at St. Miator via a transfer from a different school. Upon first entering the campus grounds she is first overcome with joy by the overall appearance of the surrounding area, however her joy is soon turned to sorrow as she accidentally stumbles down a hill, effectively making her lost and disoriented. While walking around the grounds trying to find where she is, she comes across another student by the name of Shizuma Hanazono, who just happens to be Astraea Hill's Etoile, a very important person who acts as a representative among the different schools and has specific duties that she must fulfill.

Nagisa Aoi is soon introduced to many other students from all three schools, some being students she admires, is intimidated of, or are mearly friends that she meets over time while attending St. Miator. Eventually, many of the girls form intimate relationships together, ranging from simple conversations and meetings, escalating to minor make out sessions in the most extreme cases. The entire series revolves around the relationships the characters build with each other with climaxes in the plot whenever two of the characters start dating.

~ ♥ ♥ ♥ Settings ♥ ♥ ♥ ~

Astrea Hill or Astoryle Hill ♥ ~

Astraea Hill is where the story takes place. It is a very large hilltop where all three schools are located. It's most prominent feature is a very large Catholic church that can be seen from a vast distance away.

Schools ♥ ~

All three schools are all-girl schools that are located nearby to each other. Within the school system, there is a difference in the numbering of the grades than is usually seen. At Astraea Hill, students are ranged from grades one through six

St. Miator Girl's Academy ♥ ~

St. Miator Girl's Academy is the oldest of the three schools and holds the longest legacy. This school has long black dresses for their uniforms, done in the Gothic Lolita fashion.

In the Strawberry Dorms, there is something called the room temp system that only occurs for students from Miator. All the underclassman entering these dorms, if they're chosen to serve the upperclassman as room temps, will be given an important chance to show their affection to them. Room temps do many things, but mainly clean the rooms of the students they were assigned to serve. However, they have to talk it over with their upperclassmen first before making any decisions.
The current Etoile, Shizuma, attends Miator, which gives this school a lot of power within the school system.

St. Spica's Girl's Institute ♥ ~

St. Spica's Girl's Institute is the school with the white colored buildings and uniforms, which are the most professional looking. They are well-known for their culture and how accomplished their sports program is compared to the two other schools.

Also, Spica and Miator both oppose each other quite strongly, which usually ends in them having disputes when students from these two schools get together.

St. Lulim Girl's School ♥ ~

St. Lulim Girl's School is the school that has pink colored buildings and uniforms. This in effect makes them look the most childish compared to the other school's students.

They have a tradition to be free and laid back, so are almost never seen fighting. Also, the students at this school enjoy a lot of freedom in terms of activities like the clubs they are allowed to form.

Etoile system ♥ ♥ ~

Etoile ♥ ~

Etoileis a French word meaning star. The Etoile system of Astraea Hill is tied in with the internal politics of the schools and exists for the sole purpose of making sure everything runs smoothly. The Etoile herself is seen as a figurehead for Astraea Hill who is the main representative for all three of the affiliated schools, but can be from any one of the three. Also called Etoile-sama by her peers, the Etoile has certain specific duties that she must fulfill, such as greeting new students coming to Astraea Hill, participating in important school events and serving as mediator between any disputes in student council meetings of the three schools, among other duties. She is also given a private greenhouse to grow flowers in for use during school events. When the story begins, the current Etoile is Shizuma Hanazono.

In the manga, the Etoile system is slightly different. For instance, instead of having only one Etoile, two from the same school are elected after what is known as The Etoile Battle, which consists of several specific tests for the participants to take.

Classes ♥ ~

At Astraea Hill, each school has a different way of naming a class of students. Miator has classes associated with things from nature, such as moon (月, tsuki), flower (花, hana) and snow (雪, yuki). Spica uses numbers in French, such as un, deux, and trois, which corresponds to one, two, and three, respectively. Lulim has a much simpler system by using the letters from the English alphabet: A, B, C, etc.

Strawberry Dorms ♥ ~

All the students living on campus reside in a dormitory referred to as the Strawberry Dorms. The building itself is of a triangular shape for the purpose of separating students from the three schools so that each section is roughly the same size. It was built about 100 years ago, around the same time Miator was established.

Eight mysteries ♥ ~

In the Strawberry Dorms, there is a collection of Eight mysteries all having to do with something with the dormitory. There are many discrepancies between how the mysteries are told depending on different versions of the mysteries and how old each student is. This is because most of these mysteries are relatively new to the Dorms so anyone who graduated about ten years earlier doesn't know about them at all. One thing held in common is that most students only know any seven of the mysteries, but there are more than seven told making the complete number of mysteries twelve in all. Some of the mysteries revealed onscreen include:

The four remaining mysteries were not revealed. Additionally, five out of the eight listed were never explained.

1.The Girl of the Hallway -
The story goes that on one night a few years ago, a lone student from the Strawberry Dorms walked out of her room, but she never returned. This is in fact based on a true event involving Miyuki Rokujou and Shizuma Hanazono where Miyuki was scared about having to live by herself when she first came to the Dorms four years earlier so some nights she would cry in the hallway, and some students heard her which sparked the rumor. Shizuma ended up finding her and helped her feel better about living in the Dorms and in effect, Miyuki didn't cry in the halls anymore.

2.The Laughter of the Conference Room -
In the empty conference room, you can hear laughter from the inside. Something happens to the people who hear the laugh.

3.The Secret of the Basement -
Rumor says that on the walls of the forbidden basement, there are smears that look like human faces

4. The Mirror at the Ballroom
5. The 13th Stair at the Sunshade Room
6. The Maria Sculpture that Turns Heavy
7. The Piano that Plays by Itself
8. The 7th Door.

Summer school ♥ ~

There has always been a tradition in these Dorms where students can take an optional three days and two nights of "summmer school," though it has nothing to do with academics. The students take a trip to a local beach and have fun with their friends. This is also an opportunity to strengthen friendships while in a different setting much different than at Astraea Hill. It is said that something interesting happens every year, so many of the students get excited about the prospect of going.

Name:Aoi Nagisa (蒼井渚砂)
Grade: 4th Grade
Section:Moon Class
Traits:Klutzy and expressive
Informations: The main character, Nagisa suddenly gets transferred to a new all-girls school called St. Miator Girl's Academy. The reason she transferred is because her parents went overseas for work, leaving Nagisa behind. After her grandmother, who is a past graduate of Miator, recommended she go there, she transferred schools.

She seems to have a peppy personality, which can usually cause her to get in trouble if it gets the best of her. At first, whenever she gazed into the eyes of Shizuma Hanazono, she was unable to move at all, as if she was completely paralyzed. Later on, she seems to have developed some feelings of attraction towards Shizuma.

Nagisa is easily frightened, making her tremble at even the slightest mention of something scary.

Name:Hanazono Shizuma(花園静馬)
Grade: 6th Grade
Section: Snow Class
Traits: Number One Star Idol, Etoile
Informations:The current Etoile, she is a very respected and beloved person by all of the other students attending the three schools. She looks very mysterious but also seems to actually have a number of secrets to match this visage. This makes her a difficult person to figure out or to even talk to for someone just meeting her.

She is very skilled on the piano and likes to play it constantly. Much of the time, she doesn't enjoy the dull work of the Etoile, so she often finds ways to skip on her duties, much to the annoyance of Miyuki Rokujō.

Shizuma enjoys spending time in one of the unoccupied rooms in the dorms for unknown reasons. However, it most likely has to do with someone she used to know.

She too seems to have developed a crush on Nagisa and has also been seen showing interest in other girls. She tends not to do all the duties expected from the Etoile.

Name: Suzumi Tamao (涼水玉青)
Grade: 4th Grade
Section: Moon Class
Traits: Nagisa’s best friend and likes to see Nagisa’s bothered expression
Informations:Nagisa's roommate, she is the first person Nagisa gets to get to know at the school. She helps Nagisa by showing her around the campus and introduces her to several of the other students. Also, she seems to have a crush on Nagisa. It is because of this attraction she has for Nagisa that gives her a sense of determination to be around her.

Tamao has a nice, helping personality and sometimes enjoys gossiping about other people when it comes to matters of love and attraction. Also, Nagisa and Tamao tend to be a lot alike.

One of her strangest hobbies is that she greatly enjoys scaring Nagisa and watching how she reacts because Tamao thinks she is very cute when scared. Afterwards, she plays back Nagisa's recorded screams of terror in a headset and mp3 player, rolling around as she can't get enough of how cute Nagisa sounds as she screams, at least according to Tamao.

She is a member of the Literature Club and loves to write poems.

Name: Tsukidade Chiyo (月館千代)
Grade: 1st Grade
Section: Flower Class
Traits:Timid and shy individual, admires Nagisa very much
Informations:She is employed as the room temp (which is basically a maid) for Nagisa and Tamao. She is a very shy girl and is also rather klutzy. She too seems to have a crush on Nagisa, which can also be called a form of admiration and idolism. She is apart of the Library Club and works as a librarian, lending out books mostly.

She tries to do the best she can, especially when around Nagisa, though things don't always go her way. So far, she has been very grateful to be employed as the room temp for Nagisa and Tamao, but especially for Nagisa.

~ ♥ Other Characters ♥ ~

Name: Rokujou Miyuki (六条深雪)
Grade: 5th Grade
Section: Flower Class
Traits: St Miator Student Council President, Hard Working
Informations:The student council president of Miator, she tries her best at doing her job in keeping everything in line. Often, when Shizuma is neglecting her duties as the Etoile, she gets annoyed at her and scolds her about it, which makes they seem more like a mother-child pair than as classmates. The two used to room together years earlier, but the roles then were reversed.

As the student council president, she has several responsibilites to attend to. So far, she has had to intervene into a few of Nagisa's mistakes, making sure that she understands the rules of the school. When in student council meetings, she usually gets in disputes over school matters with Shion.

Name:Sisutā Hamasaka (シスター・浜坂)
Grade: Graduated
Section: -------
Traits: Very Strict, but actually kind.
Informations:An old woman who is the main person in charge of Miator. Her main duties include handing out punishments and reprimanding students when they do something wrong. The range of punishments can vary, but they can get rather outrageous.

She seems to be an angry woman most of the time and rarely ever smiles. She is probably one of the three Sisters in the school system, though the other two have yet to be introduced.

~ ♥ St. Spica's Main Heroines ♥ ~

Name:Konohana Hikari (此花光莉)
Grade: 3rd Grade
Section: Un Class (Class one)
Traits: Loves beautiful things
Informations: She is a rather shy and quiet girl most of the time. In her second year, she joined the St. Spica Choir (also known as the Saintly Chorus) with her friend Yaya Nanto. She has developed a crush on Amane Ootori.
She tends to be a physically weak girl who is fairly easy to be taken advantage of, much to her dismay. She does have friends that look out for her in this respect, which she is grateful to have. She also seems to be very religious and can be seen praying within the church or at a fountain with a statue depicting the St. Virgin Mary on the school grounds.

Name: Ootori Amane (鳳天音)
Grade: 5th Grade
Section: Trois Class (Class Three)
Traits: The ‘Prince’ of St Spica, Sophisticated, and Kind
Informations: She is often seen riding a white horse, named Star Bright, which makes her seem more like a prince from a fairy tale. Furthermore, she looks very much like a guy and in effect, a lot of the students at St. Spica are her fans. She tends to have a silent demeanor, which also makes her seem intimidating, making her difficult to talk with.

She is also the next in line to become Etoile, but it doesn't seem she wants to accept the title. This could be due to her not wanting all the attention or she just doesn't want to take on all the responsibility of representing the three schools.

She too has a crush on Hikari, showing her affection much in the way a guy does for a girl. Amane, much like Yaya, looks out for Hikari and protects her when need be.

Name:Nanto Yaya(南都夜々)
Grade: 3rd Grade
Section: Un Class (Class One)
Traits: A rich man’s daughter, likes to tease Hikari or just vying for her attention.
Informations:Hikari's roommate, she is a somewhat forceful girl who also seems to look out for Hikari, who she does have a crush on. So far, she has tried to become closer with Hikari, but due to Hikari's interest in Amane, Yaya is always shot down in return.

Yaya is good friends with Hikari and seems to have known her for a while now. She got Hikari to join the St. Spica Choir the previous year, most likely in an attempt to give her more self-esteem which she seems to be lacking in. Yaya is one of the most talented members of the choir, as noted by Tsubomi, though seems to need more dedication, as noted by Hikari.
She also has a rebelious side, sometimes going against school rules or what is normally accepted. She tends to be very outspoken and enjoys criticizing other students she dislikes. However, when it comes to matters of love, she seems to be very shy about her feelings, substituing words with actions.

She always likes to drink herbal tea. One example is Lavender tea because it's calming, soothing and helps her relax. In contrast, she rather dislikes first grader students because they are noisy and annoying

Name: Okuwaka Tsubomi (奥若蕾)
Grade: 1st Grade,
Section: Trois Class (Class Three)
Traits: Energetic and headstrong individual.
Informations:She acts mature for her age and also seems to have a crush on Hikari, although she calls it pure admiration. Also, she often lectures Hikari and Yaya when they do something wrong in regards to their school work and responsibilities. She is a member of the St. Spica Choir along with Hikari and Yaya and it is believed that the reason she joined was because of Hikari, though Tsubomi denies this.

Tsubomi sometimes gets embarrassed when around Hikari due to either what Hikari says or of what others say. She tends to get angry or flustered easily, giving her an outspoken and very expressive personality. In effect, she can be loud in her opinions of others.

In the manga, she is the secretary for the student council of Spica.

~ ♥ Other Characters ♥ ~

Name: Toumori Shionn (冬森詩音)
Grade: 5th Grade
Section: Deux Class (Class Two)
Traits: The St Spica Student Council President, very celf centered.
Informations:The student council president of Spica, she is a very shrewd girl and is constantly scheming something. However, despite her initial demeanor, she doesn't seem like the type to do anything extreme.

After the current Etoile, Shizuma, graduates, she would like very much for an attendant of Spica to become the next Etoile. Her best bet right now is to try to convince Amane Ootori to consider the position, though Shion has had much trouble already trying to do this.

When in student council meetings, she argues a lot with Miyuki, the student council president from Miator, regarding school matters and how the Etoile, who is from Miator, tends not to attend such meetings.

Name:Kenjou Kaname (剣嬢要)
Grade: 5th Grade
Section: Deux Class (Class Two)
Traits: Over possesive
Informations:Only in the anime is Kaname on the student council for Spica. She is a very domineering, forceful, and devious girl. She also likes to take matters into her own hands when Shion doesn't do what she wants. Much like Amane, her appearance and personality make her seem more masculine than feminine.

Her main friend and ally is Momomi, who is very much alike Kaname in personality. They share a sexual relationship and seem to be in love with each other.

Informations:She is also on the student council for Spica, helping to give advice to Shion or agree with most of what Kaname says and suggests.

When Kaname thinks up a plan, she helps her carry out them out, but tries not to get directly involved, watching from the side sometimes.

Name:Minamoto Chikaru (源千華留)
Grade: 5th Grade
Section: Class A
Traits: Student Council President of St Lulim, Friendly, Funny and Sweet
Informations:The student council president of Lulim, who is also the president of the Transformation Club (where members dress up in different costumes) and the Secret Club (where members try to solve mysteries). She has a friendly personality and enjoys helping others when they need it, which makes her an excellent candidate for the student council. Also, Chikaru tends to be very knowledgeable about the schools and the inner workings of them.

When in student council meetings, she often lets the other two representatives argue with each other while she sits back and observes their behavior. One observation she made is that this behavior is often very predictable, down to even the time frame between discussions.

Name: Hyuuga Kizuna (日向絆奈)
Grade: 2nd Grade
Section: Class B
Traits: Active and cheerful individual
Informations:Kizuna seems very outgoing, hyper and a bit klutzy. She spends a lot of time with Chikaru and Remon, making her a part of the Transformation and Secret Clubs. She tends to be very expressive in her actions and words, not wasting any chance to introduce herself to someone new.

Since Chikaru is her senpai and student council president, Kizuna enjoys following Chikaru's decisions and finds a lot of fun in doing so, whether they be club related or not.

Since she is only in her second year at Lulim, she tends to be rather immature compared to others.

Name: Natsume Remon (夏目檸檬)
Grade: 2nd Grade
Section: Class B
Traits: Cheery but timid individua
Informations:Much like Kizuna in personality, though not as clumsy, she is also one of the members of the Transformation Club and Secret Clubs. Remon and Kizuna seem to have known each other long enough to become good friends and they hang around a lot together.

Name:Byakudan Kagome (白檀籠女)
Grade: 1st Grade
Section: Class C
Traits: Shy
Informations:She seems very childish since she carries around a teddy bear named Percival (パーシバル, Pāshibaru, Oshibaru, Ashiba) and talks to it constantly, even referring to it as if it were a real person. She has a quiet voice and seems rather sad and lonely at times due to the fact that she doesn't seem to know a lot of people or have many friends at that.

She is also very skilled at building sand castles, showing off her artistic abilities.

On her first day, Aoi Nagisa climbs up Astrea Hill to reach her new school, St. Miator Girl’s Academy. On the path leading up, she admires all of the different uniforms. However, in her rush she accidentally runs down a small hill and into the surrounding woods. She gets lost, but encounters a beautiful girl. Nagisa dropped her Key chain, the girl hands her the keychain that she dropped, and then leans and kisses Nagisa on the forehead. Nagisa faints and wakes up in the school’s infirmary with a girl named Suzumi Tamao watching over her. She seems to have an interest in Nagisa, and is the one who takes Nagisa’s measurements for her uniform. Tamao, who is in Nagisa’s class, explains that they are fourth-year students here because the school integrates middle and high school...

Tamao warned Nagisa that the school‘s curfew is at six o’clock PM.
Tamao was summoned by her club, so Nagisa has to return to the dormitory alone. However, she spots the same girl who kissed her earlier and follows this girl into the woods. Unfortunately, she loses sight of her and realizes that it’s almost six o’clock. Nagisa rushes back, but makes it just as the gate closes. One of the sisters (the matrons of the school) has to let her in. She gets disciplined, but is then saved by the student council president of St. Miator, Rokujou Miyuki. Miyuki mentioned the Étoile, who is the body representative of all three schools. Nagisa, Tamao and Miyuki heads to the dining hall where the buzz is all about the new student. All eyes are thus on Nagisa when she enters. However, Nagisa mistakes one of the upper-classmen as the Étoile, when in fact the real one is standing right behind her. It’s the same girl who kissed her forehead from. Her name is Hanazono Shizuma. Shizuma leans in to kiss Nagisa, but gets interrupted by Miyuki because it’s time for the Etoile to lead the prayer before dinner. After the prayer ended, Shizuma winked at Nagisa. –End of Summary-
