The Newsletter - Christmas Event Plot Bulletin
- (NEW!) After a long span of horribly dangling plot threads, SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED. The Zurg mothership has been replaced by some sort of "Stargate" or portal, which can be seen here.

The Zurg know that we've 'hacked' their interface, thanks to Shamrox. She mentioned it in towns and 03 had a spaz attack and left to go 'tell the others.'
06 and 09 (the new Flarn) have confronted 12, calling him/her a traitor and driving him/her away. 12 is now missing.
06 has written a letter of apology to Mother, citing the fact that their plan to abduct Santa has failed, but Santa was "damaged" in the process.
After rumors of 09 wanting revenge on 11, 11 is now missing.
There are footprints in the snow outside the Mothership.
Santa's mind has been switched with a cow's in a botched abduction attempt! Lol. Santa is a cow.
Cute little 02, with her "pora bear," is going to help cow-Santa with Christmas this year!
SPECULATION: Rancher Bill's avatar looks suspiciously user-made. Rumors have been going around that the fake "Rancher Bill" account (made when he was first introduced) was actually the real deal.

- The pages of gaiaonline.com/zurg are henceforth referred to by the greek letter in the bottom-lefthand corner of each page. Images corresponding to alpha through epsilon have been found.
The password to the Alpha page is urmothership. KEY: A cypher posted by UFO12.
The passwords to the Beta page are, from top to bottom, foo, bar, baz, quux. KEY: Jigsaw. The jigsaw pieces in the corner of the puzzle. The answers were found via a weekly Jigsaw puzzle.
The passwords to the Gamma page are, from top to bottom, http://avatar.gaiaonline.com/gaia/members/ava/04/7f/289bf9fc4f7f04.png, RedBino, Lotus Elise, Blue, Creep. KEY: User I_am_the_Eggplant. The answers are his avatar's url, and the four interests listed in his profile.
The passwords to the Delta page are, from top to bottom, there is no cow level, zurg1234, delta. KEY: The kicker was that "there is no cow level" was hidden in a sound file that was hidden in Eggplant's sig image. Others: the code on the delta page, the placement of the last textbox.
The Zurg language seems to be a mix of Wingdings 3 and Marlett fonts, and is--as far as we know--not translatable to English. It's gibberish.
Likewise, the stuff at the bottom of the source code that lists avatar gender, donation status, et cetera, is also meaningless. It's on every Gaian page, not just the Zurg ones.
(NEW!) You can now get alien antennae and a resistance face mask from the Epsilon page! Just click the button under the map, then click each button in turn to get both items.
CURRENT THEORIES, OTHER INFORMATION
- Flarn is now an alien-human hybrid. (Confirmed)
There seems to be a plan in the works to abduct Santa - possibly relating to the stargate? (See Epsilon page for blueprints.)

- The pagination seems to be noted by greek letters - the first page is alpha, the second page is beta. Maybe gamma is after the pyramid puzzle?
There are three shadow puzzle pieces in the bottom-right corner of the Beta Puzzle.
The characters on the puzzle seem to be a mix of Wingdings 3 and Marlett fonts.
The characters on the puzzle do not seem to correspond to English letters - maybe they represent phenomes?
The towns address 002911:06 doesn't seem to be significant.
Draconius came up with an interesting theory that all vowel symbols are some variation on a triangle with a dot.
The (minus) (plus) (triangle) (square) at the top seem to be a numbering system: So, the Beta Puzzle would be number one of four, because "one" (the minus) is lit up.
The Believers got the "urmothership" password by decoding "hezbgurefuvc," which was at the bottom of a post by UFO12.
UFO 11's quote (below) may be a code that will help solve the puzzle. EDIT: It translates to "I am in love."
UFO01's code (Zor Xj-Arn L%1Fgg) - referring to the missing Flarn? o_O

The "broken image" on the Gamma page is actually an IMAGE of a broken image, with the alternate text "I_am_the_Eggplant." What.

-The lines probably represent the stages in the pyramid - One line, Two lines is a plus, three lines is a triangle, and four lines is a square.

If this has already been said or you guys have already figured out the codes for the fourth page then tell me I'm stupid and give me the codes... Anyways this is what my limited amount of intellect thought up..

so this is the first thing that caught my eye [a-z0-9]. I have seen a riddle/code before that uses this as a hint. starting with 'a' you find its first occurence in the series.

Put them together and you have 'ade01357' which is {8} charectors long... not sure if this means anything...
Also, the veeeery bottom one is the next letter of the greek alphabet~

The string before the square bracket is 32 characters and looks like an MD5 hash value. I work in technical security so tried to recover the plain text password from the hash value using the tool here. The "a-z;0-9 [8]" indicates that the password consists of 8 or less characters in the range a-z or 0-9, ie no capitals or foreign characters.
The password recovers as zurg1234.
