Hello and welcome to Wishing...on a Star, a new Breedable/Changing pet shop with a unique twist. It's a whole new world in this shop with a different kind of 'pet' that (hopefully) no one has ever seen before. These creatures, the Pleionets, are the physical, human-like bodies of stars, asteroids, comets and any other object in the universe! More types will show up, some may disappear forever... It all depends on how the world, Pleione, does things.

Feel free too look around and do not hesitate to ask us for anything. We all enjoy nice conversations so jump right on in! We're quite a welcoming bunch of people, although we may be a little crazy.

Just a quick note: The Wishing Charity is up and running with a lot of funds! See the guild's OOC subforum for details.

1. Follow Gaia's Terms of Service.
2. Be active.
3. Post in your journal or shop thread once every two weeks until your pet is an adult. After that, please post once a month. Posts on the same day will not count towards moving up a stage. ((Note: Rule only applies if you have humanoids.))
4. If you go on hiatus, please warn us or you will risk losing your pet.
5. If you are gone for more than a month and your pet is not yet an adult, a warning will be sent out. If you do not reply within four weeks, your pet will be locked. If you still don't reply within four more weeks, your pet will be given to a dedicated lurker.
6. Those who participate in the roleplay//update their journal more often will have more control of when their pet moves up a stage.
7. Minimal requirements for growing are 25 posts in either the RP or the shop thread, 5 journal posts, and 2 weeks wait. After that, fill out the form provided and your cert will be updated within a week.
8. Mini-Games count as bonuses to your activity.
9. There will be items to stage-up, -down, or -pause your pet, but they will be expensive (more for moving up a stage) and you still have to do the growing requirements and pass five times.
10. Be respectful of other owners, staff, and anyone who enters the shop.

How can I get one? Lurk and become a regular, donate massive amounts, become loved. Those options take a *lot* of dedication, though, and there aren't any promisses! If you really want a Pleionet, wait for an event, purchase a custom, or adopt one.

But how can I get a custom?? In the guild artists and colorists will have a mini-profile in the main forum. They will have all the things they want there, including a form for customs (if they do them!) and breedings.

And what about breedings? Only Guardians and Elder-Guardians can breed, but their partner only needs to be an adult or higher. Other couples and single adults can adopt.

Oh, you can adopt? Yes! If your Pleionet is old enough and wants a child, as long as the slots are open and an artist/colorist agrees to do it, you can adopt.

What do you meen by "agrees to do it"? I don't force my staff to do more than the minimum requirements to stay on the staff. This includes everything other than event sales.

How often will the events be? There will be at least one flatsale once a month and artists/colorists can have auctions whenever they wish to. Both will be announced a week before the event is to take place.

What are mini-games? Mini-games are games that happen in either the shop thread or the RP. They can be quests for hidden pictures to a "Guess what item of mine that I'm thinking of!" to battles in the role play.

Do you have to role play? Yes and no. To be an owner of a Pleionet, no. To get certain items and grow to certain stages, yes.

Why do they cost so much?? Think of it this way: most of the artists charge 8k-15k+ for CG images. When you buy a Starlet, for instance, you are getting five and up to seven CG images!

Why do higher classes cost more? Pleione is relatively segregated between classes and the higher the class, the more the Pleionet can do! Higher classes can just do more than the lower ones. Plus, they get rarer as the class goes up.

Magic? Yes, Pleionets have magic! If you look at the certs and see the funny squiggles, those are the signs. You can find more information about the magics in the guild.

I heard that there will be a battle system..? YES! Wishing will have a battle system as soon as we have a few events and get a good idea of what will go on. So far we know that we'll be items for sale, a bartering systsem, and we are thinking of new things as we speak!

Lyk, can I get 1 4 freee? No, especially if you talk like that. The only way we'll give freebies is if you are a regular or a really, really awesome person and an artist wants to make you one. ^^

OMFG can I work here? I love your enthusiasm! The full-time artist positions are full but there is plenty of room for guest artists and colorists! We also may be looking for an item maker in the future~~. ;D

Why does mine look like -description- while soandso's looks like -description-? When it all comes down to it, it is class and magic that decide what a Pleionet will look like. Sometimes, if an artist feels like it, s/he will make things specialized based on your journal entries or role play personality.

I don't want my Pleionet anymore, can I sell it? Absolutely not! You may give it up for adoption or give it to a regular of the thread only. You are never allowed to make a profit off of your Pleionet.

I know that I was away for three months plus, why was my pet given away?? We send out warnings to inactive owners.

But it was because of -insert reason here-! It doesn't matter. If you go on hiatus, let us know. There is absolutely no way anyone wouldn't be able to access the computer even for 15 minutes for three whole months. And I'll stop you before you ask your next question: No. You will not get your Pleionet back.

Can I get my Pleionet Recolored/Redrawn? It is completely up to the artist.

Can I have a different artist draw my Starlet? Purchase a custom. =]

The world's main city is Kalb while the Elders gather at Maia for their sacred meetings. Starlets and Terrans inhabit Wasat, Alcyone, and Chara. Algorab, Furud, and Alioth are home to Perrins and the Haldis Territory is exclusive to the Haldis and Guardians only. Many other islands are remote and rather dangerous to get to, although they may play a pivotal role in Pleione's future.


The world of Wishing... on a Star is a world similar to our own. Known as Pleione, there are lakes, rivers, forests, deserts, and more! Almost any terrain can be created, since this world isn't exactly a what you would cal 'normal'. It is the conciousness of the stars, and they can manipulate it how ever they want to. They live, breathe, and grow in their own place without interferance. It's a land as peaceful as the inhabitants make it.

The stars' alternate humanoid bodies, known as Starlets, roam the world that they have created, along with many other celestial objects that have developed bodies. They are a fully developed, profitable, self-sustaining world that is teeming with life. It is a relatively peaceful utopia, but not all dreams can last...but it's up to the Starlets to figure things out.

Starlets: The second most common race, and the most common humanoid race is the Starlets. They are the human-like forms of stars.

Terran: These forever-children are taken care of by Parent Stars, they are the human-like form of planets.

Perrin Sprites: The most common species in all of Pleione. They are tiny creatures that run around on the various islands that cover the world. They are the sprite-form of small asteroids.

Perrin Humanoids: These aren't exactly a common race but they do appear often, and only with other members of their clans. They are the human-like form of asteroids.

Haldis: The rarest of all creatures, there is not much known about this race other than they are the human-like form of comets.

Notes: Pleionet refers to any creature/race/intelligent being on Pleione. Currently we only have Starlets available but once we get the information for the other races, they'll be put up here and some information will be shortened. However, the whole version will always be located in the guild.

Decription

Starlets are the most common humanoids on Pleione. They inhabit the countries of Alcyone, Wasat, and Chara and are rarely seen outside their borders. A few loner Starlets roam the uncharted seas but they are seldom heard of. They can live in any climate but the cold often damages their skin, making it hard to live up north and explore the mysterious Haldis Territory.

Generally speaking, the Starlets are quite an eccentric and eclectic bunch. However, they do not like mingling social status. They are very social and are usually kind-hearted when with their own "kind." There are many egocentric upper-Class Starlets who dislike associating themselves with other races and other classes. Those types will always be found in the great capitol, Kalb. There are also lower-Class Starlets who dislike the upper-Classes, they are usually found on the outskirts of cities and in Merope.

Guardians are rare Starlets who look over Pleione and are scattered throughout the world. They are generally helpful and serene although there are some old Guardians who dislike the young 'Lets these days. All Starlets look up to them, some even want to be like them.


Stages

Protostar: The Starlet starts out as a small baby wrapped up in a blanket, with its eyes still closed and a head of silky-soft hair. Although still small, the baby will have markings on its body that indicate their magic specialty. The baby will toss and turns but will not wake from its sleep. At this stage the baby Starlet needs tender warmth from its caretaker. If they are left alone, the Guardians will take them back to Maia.

Fusion Ignition: The baby Starlet finally opens its eyes and starts walking, right into being a toddler. It is more curious than any sprite and has enough energy to wear out the strongest of Caretakers. Its tribal markings have grown larger and more intricate.

Near-Main: Once the Starlet is able to use basic magic, it is considered a child. This is the stage where it learns the most and starts developing its personality. The child will be looking to anyone taller for examples and their curiosity drives them to question even more. Their tribal markings have finished developing and just waiting to grow.

Main Sequence: This is the most pivotal role in a Starlet's life, it is now a teenager and starting to walk down its own path. Though the path may be rocky, the teen is starting to develop into an adult in both mind and body. It will often rebel and throw tantrums while learning and growing into the adult that they will someday be. Whether that is training to tame magic, going to a weapons school to learn the art of battle, or just staying home and learning everything it can from its caretaker, they are able to choose their own path.

Red Giant/Supergiant: The longest stage for a Starlet is being an adult. It can compete in magic and battle tournaments, find love, and do almost anything there is to do in Pleione. It has the option to receive training to become a Guardian, or go for a different dream. Once a love is found, or a Guardian has approved, it can even adopt children/FIs.

White Dwarf/Black Hole: This is the most powerful and hard-earned stage for any Starlet. It is now a regal, royal hero to Pleione that everyone respects. Guardians help the world prosper and take care of the nurseries and other Starlets that catch its eye. A special gift that only Guardians receive is the power to breed. They are the only ones who can have biological children/FIs with their loved one. RP or megabribe only!

Essence: At this stage, a Starlet's star has long been dead but their body lives on in the form of an Elder-Guardian. Not much is known about these as there is only one... RP and megabribe only!


Classes

O: 10/100 Very rare. These Starlets are the most powerful. If they are to be found, they are most likely in the highest ranks. They have the ability to learn multiple/all magics and become teachers/masters of them. They will be sold in auctions or be given to amazing donators.
A: 20/100 Rare. Born with three magics, can learn four. Known for their intelligence. Found in auctions and given to extrordinarily dedicated people.
G: 30/100 Uncommon. Born with two magics, can learn three. Known for their political minds. Found in auctions or raffles.
M: 40/100 Common. These Starlets are born with one, and can learn a max of two magics unless able to be Blessed by a guardian. You can find them all around Pleione and they are best known for their skills with children/FIs. Most speedsales and raffles will have Class M Starlets, although some rarer ones may come in for a surprise.

We currently have three items available.

Pause: This will allow an Elder-Guardian to put your Pleionet's "celestial body" into a time warp that stops all time.

Fast Forward: Like the pause, a Guardian will alter time around a Pleionet's celestial body to speed up time. There are three levels: > moves the Pleionet up one stage, >> moves it up two stages, >>> moves it up three.

Rewind: Exactly like Fast Forward only reversed.

Prices of these items are still being discussed. Will will have them finalized, along with other items, by the time the first Starlet is sold.

All items will be priced based on their Rank. The higher the rank, the more fancy the item will be and vise versa. Pets with higher ranks can do much more than lower ranks.

Although not required, Role Play is one of the biggest reasons for Wishing...on a Star. It opens up two stages and many items, as well as other bonuses waiting to be discovered. Currently there aren't enough people to start a role play but after the flatsale, the boards (located in the guild) will be open and ready for action!


<<------------------------------------------------Guild


The guild is where we host the majority of our information. One page of a thread is just too little to contain everything that Wishing has to offer! I encourage everyone to join and there are many reasons why. The guild has an OOC forum, Journals (required for ownership), an entire forum of need-to-know material, and places to put your quest and advertise!

The guild is also the place that you will find Customs and Breedings, as well as profiles for the Staff members. Not everyone has their page up yet but they'll be there soon. ^^ Keep in mind that in their thread, you have to obey their rules alongside Wishing's rules. They set their own prices, conditions, and forms and I completely support them.

The guild also has a charity for Wishing regulars!

Sabik: MMMkays. Here's what the 'lovely' (he made me say that) lil created a few years back in a various Pern RP.

Kaias
Kaias are the most recently discovered Sentient beast! They are like miniature foxes with big ears (for hearing), big paws (for digging), and big eyes (to look so adorably cute and to see in the dark). They are the gardeners of Pleione. They have the ability to accelerate the growth of plants. They hatch from tiny seeds that all Kaia carry around; most of the time they are used as seeds to plant anything the Kaia desires but when it gets wet, it hatches! Sometimes the Matriarch(White) will find some one worthy of a seed and stuff it under his or her pillow, hoping that the person would figure out its puzzle. There is no limit to how many you can Impress//Own and they can speak (telepathy) to their caretakers if taught. Whites can use telepathy to anyone they wish. Their specialty is Flora and Water magic.
Colors: White(Matriarch), Black(M), Gray(F)
Size: They are roughly four inches at the shoulder, five to six if it’s a Matriarch.

Canlines
Canlines, a mix between a canine and a feline, is a new beast discovered recently around the southern islands. They eat mostly whatever meat they find and may attack humanoids if hungry enough. Males have long, droopy, doglike ears and females have shorter, upright, ears and both have a long cat-like tail. Shorthaired. Instead of almond shaped eyes, Canlines have round eyes with diamond shaped pupils. In a recent study, researchers later determined that male's names start with "a" and end in "z" and females start with "z" and end with "a". Further research showed that the Canline’s stripes determined their rank. Born as an infant. They're specialty is stone and fire magic.
Colors: White(F,M), Pink(F), Black(M), Red(M), Gray(M,F)
Size: About the size of a tiger.


Junafors
Named after where they are found (Jungles and Forests) the Junafor is a new type of feline. They are really ‘fluffy’ with a mix of feathers and furs that are sometimes used in the finest of clothes. [no Junafors hurt in the making] They like to sing and play, but they are the biggest tricksters in all of Pleione! Born from eggs. Their wings hold the ranking color. Their specialties are ice and wind magic.
Colors: White(F,M), Pink(F), Black(M), Red(M), Gray(M,F)
Size: Roughly 9 to 11 inches at the shoulder, wings 2 times the length of their body.

Sabik: Feel free to draw a sketch or two and the best (or two best) examples will be inked and up for sale! ^^ There are three stages: Egg/Seed/Infant > Child M/F > Teen M/F > Adult M/F and an optional Elder stage.

Payment will be 75% Artist and 25% Colorist until the artist receives 125k-150k for the lineart. After that, it's 75% colorist, 15% shop, and 10% certist.
