Ta da! Kia and I are having yet another new contest! Come check it outs!

Kia Ryou and myself are hosting an art contest that focuses on the six little abjds we currently have in our lives. We would like for you, the talented artists of Gaia to bring our dolls to life on the canvas... or whatever medium you prefer. So take a glance at the profiles located in the following posts. We hope the little info blurbs give you some ideas about what to draw. We'll accept all kinds of art but despite what our contest is focusing on, candy dolls really aren't our thing. So we accept just about everything else! Like chibis? Sketches? CG craziness? So do we! Yayness!!! heart

If you have a question, feel free to ask in the thread and we'll try to answer them to the best of our ability!

Want to know more about Asian Ball Jointed Dolls? Here's a link to their wikipedia article as well as one to Den of Angels, a large ABJD forum and community. Gaia also has a decent sized ABJD guild located here, which I'm a member of. ^^

There's also a new forum on the block I think everyone should check out called, BJD Illusions. Go check it out!

Most art recieved during this contest will be posted at our doll site linked below. This is also a great place to look for more reference pictures.

About: His favorite band is Pink Floyd and he has the typical stoner mentality as well as an unhealthy attraction to his twin sister, Zoey. He hasn't acted on these feelings... yet.

As far as hobbies go, he just recently aquired the Players Handbook 3.5, the first esential book for any Dungeons and Dragons player as well as two sets of tiny dice. It won't be long before he has the other dolls delving deep into the world of Greyhawk.

Most of his clothes consist of black.. what a surprise. And one of his favorite shirts bares the trademark Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon prism. As well as his brown shirt declairing that indeed... Sulla is an Alien.

While at the moment he has feelings of attraction towards Zoey friendship towards Yuki, and not many feelings one way or the other towards Alice. He and Roxas at times are openly hostile towards eachother and never get along. -_-;; Art of those two fighting could get pretty funny ^^

Favorite Possesion: A stuffed moose named Mark.

About: Roxas is deffinately a hard person to explain. While he is very tempermental. And known for blowing his gasket. And sometimes when caught of gaurd he tends to throw things. But they're is a good side to him....wait no there isn't....
His likes and dislikes are as follows.
Likes : ...No one (Except his sister)
Dislikes : Everyone, and Zaydin.

Roxas considers Zaydin his ultimate enemy, No matter in what situation. Zoey...he's okay with Zoey. And Yuki...Yuki just creeps him out. It's probaly the only thing he is afraid of.

Recently Roxas came across and egg...quite strange for a long egg to be sitting in the middle of a room. So being the bad boy he is. He opened the egg. And inside was one of the smallest creatures he had every seen. it looked up at him with blue eyes. And pinky frizzy hair. (Okay her hair hasn't come in yet) And muttered the words " nii? NIII!" And Takled him right to the ground. Well in his suprise he flung the creaute up into the air...and it dissappeared. Ever since them he swears the creature follows him.

About: Zoey is the younger twin by two minutes and is rather clueless (we think) about her brother's attraction towards her, then again, Zoey seems to be clueless about a lot of things. Honestly I think she knows exactly what's going and is only playing naieve. Her interests lie in tarot readings although she's little more than a novice in the subject. Astrology has facinated her ever since she's gotten into my Sailor Moon tapes, her favorite heavenly body being the moon. Her favorite song is Across the Universe by the Beetles.

Pink is a big no with this girl. She prefers darker shades of purple and her favorite black opposed to the typical girly colors. She's always wearing a diamond star necklace around her throat.

Other than her brother, she doesn't have strong feelings of any variety towards her other dolly companions.

Favorite Possesion: Her book on Tarot reading.

About: Alice is the dotting older sister of Roxas. Whom she loves very much. But finds that he is rather loud. Especialy when around Zaydin, Zoey, Yuki, and Ichigo. But no bother. As long as she has her tea and frilly dresses to calm her nerves, she really doesn't mind.

Her best friend is Zoey. And although she thinks Yuki is a bit odd. She really enjoys chatting about dresses with him. And there is that one little doll named Ichigo...or at least thats what Roxas's calls it. Poor dear brother. He's so young yet already going mad.

About: First off, despite apperances, Yukiko is a boy. Yuki's tale is a strange one indeed. He was raised as a girl by his demon parents in order to fool the neighboring kingdom's son into taking Yuki as his bride. And they succeeded in doing just that. The night before the wedding was to take place, Yuki left and found himself living in the home of Zoey and Zaydin. None of the other dolls have discovered that Yuki is actually a boy... yet. The only one that knows his secret is Korah.

Frills frills and more frills. Pink, baby blue and every other shade of the pastel rainbow, if it's ultra fem it will be found on Yukiko's slender frame.

As far as Zaydin's affections go, Yuki returns them shyly, unsure of what to do in his situation, knowing full well that Zaydin has no ideas that he's a boy. Daily he struggles with his fight to tell the truth.

About - Korah first heard that he was to be betrothed to Yukiko-hime shortly after the princess’ birth. The young prince was less than excited to hear that he was to marry one of the much-despised demons, even if she was a princess and refused as best as a four year old could. His parents merely patted him on the head and sent him grumbling off to his lessons. The incident was soon forgotten until a fateful late night trip for a glass of water where a young Seraphim overheard something he should not have. The adults were all crowded around his father’s desk arguing. Confused Korah behind a tapestry he snuck into his father’s study after the last of the elders took their leave to investigate. On top of a large stack of papers was a picture of a young girl with large pink eyes, her skin as white as snow. He could feel his heart warming just looking at her youthful visage and flipped the photo over to see if it bore a name, what he saw unsettled him to his core. Yukiko-hime Age 4. Beneath this were official looking documents all bearing his father’s signature. Quickly scanning them he read the words, ‘..false betrothal..’, and ‘..assassination of the demonic king, queen, and child prince.’ Prince? He swallowed and tucked the photograph into his robes and quickly scurried out of the room without his water.

Ringo comes from my made up demon world where Yukiko-‘hime’ (My Sweet Lolita Dana) is from. He’s one of the Minor Demons, the lowest race in terms of size and power but next to none in terms of longevity. These little ones live a long time, even longer than Yukiko’s race, but even so they mostly serve as servants if not slaves to their more powerful cousins. Ringo was no exception.

He didn’t personally know Yukiko-hime at all, but what reason would a princess have to associate with a Minor Demon like him anyway? But when she disappeared from their world and the war broke out within the palace halls He was there. He found Ringo hiding beneath a table with his little hands clamped tightly over his ears to block the sounds of battle ringing throughout the corridors. After gently tapping him on his shoulder He told Ringo that if he loved his princess he would find her and keep her safe until He could come for her. Ringo had never seen this young man before today and expected that he never would again. He was gravely injured and didn’t look like he would last much longer with crimson staining his once finely polished armor and the six wings on his back hanging in tatters. And so with no reason other than that, Ringo left as the man once again headed off to do battle.

Please keep in mind that while Pandora is much smaller than most of the dolls, she's still a good bit bigger than Ringo. I would love to see some cute chibis of her ^^<3

The size difference in the dolls is illustrated here.

Pandora was the last of her kind, an Eleionomae Naiad alone save for the creatures of her marsh. That is, until she met him. He was a young drow sorceror that often traveled up from the underdark to travel the world above. It was his escape from the oppresive world of the drow. Their encounter was brief, consisting of only a few short evenings but it would leave a lasting impression on them both. Pandora had begun to fade and disapear from this world as had the rest of her kind had before her. The young drow, as unlikely as it would seem had fallen in love with the beautiful Pandora and cast a spell upon her, sealing her in a magical box until a time where the magic that sustained her was once again strong. And so he waited, for the day that he could open Pandora's box.
