- What types of characters do you guys accept? - Aside from the obvious military and police types, we're also looking for magical girls, ninjas, samurai, boxers, cowboys, aliens, paladins, rangers, druids, monks, rogues, warriors, wizards, sorcerers, warlocks, ESPers, time travellers, ...as long as you have a strong sense of justice, a raging heart, and/or a desire to make the world a better place, we're looking for you. 3nodding
What types of equipment do you guys accept? - The Watch has a rank based system based on activity, trustworthiness, and performance. Most equipment is issued from The Watch, and is shared. We do make exceptions though based on your character concept. In general, if you have a Gundam, a planet-busting weapon, a cataclysmic spell, or a jutsu that can level cities, don't bring it along.
What is The Watch about? - ICly, The Watch was started by the Gaian National Guard (known by many still as the Gaian Army) and the Gaian Police Department (GPD). The Watch is to patrol the streets of Gaia's cities, protecting its citizens from harm. OOCly The Watch goes into other threads that have signed up for our service, enforce the law ICly, and protect the thread's rules OOCly.
There are dozens of military RPs out there. Plenty of magical girl ones, ninja schools...let's not even go there. So why The Watch? - The Watch is different. We have no dedicated RP thread to call our own. Each Watch member is on patrol, ensuring the IC and OOC safety of each thread that signs up with us. Reports are submitted and stored in The Watch's central database, a registered guild built to store our information.
No sitting around in the mess hall polishing guns. Our entire theme is patrolling, keeping active, and protecting our threads while enforcing the law. And we go beyond the standard machineguns and tanks theme. Our utility belts do more than hold up our pants and give us a nice place to holster our sidearm. They serve as the magical equivalent of a bulletproof vest, because we're dealing with Gaian Mainstream here.

The Watch, while having its own GGN guild, will spend the majority of time patrolling other "Gaia Mainstream" RP threads! This is a great way to meet new people, involve yourself in new roleplays, and improve your roleplay style.
RP Thread Owners, would you like The Watch to patrol your thread? Please let us know! Just as Watch members get to meet new people by patrolling, word about your RP will spread, potentially drawing new interested people! Being qualified to apply to be a patrolled thread is simple: Just have a reasonably active thread that exists in "Mainstream Gaia" (many Barton Town RPs fit into this category, such as the Temple of Falis). You don't have to be a post-a-minute thread, just have progression that falls under the 'daily' category rather than the 'monthly'. ...well, there is one additional requirement: You must have rules in your thread preamble (first post or within the first several posts) that state that you follow the AMP, and that the Watch has been recognized by you as a rules enforcer.
