Trades will now be sent one at a time, smallest refund to largest, as our exchangers and gamers earn enough to fulfill each refund. Exceptions are granted to those who exchange/game for us; they will get theirs asap.

EVERYONE WILL GET THEIR REFUND, JUST STAY CALM AND PATIENT.

As you may or may not be aware, banks are no longer permitted on gaia ( http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27389633 ). We ask that customers do not send us trades or PMs asking us for a refund; we are going through every individual case ourselves and will get to you as soon as possible. Sending us nagging emails or trades demanding your gold will only slow the process down, as we will be wasting time responding rather than dealing with closing accounts.

WE WILL SEND YOU YOUR REFUND OURSELVES, DO NOT SEND ANY MORE TRADES TO US. ALSO, WE'RE STILL MAINTAINING RECORDS, SO PLEASE ACCEPT THE TRADE (THAT MEANS ACCEPT TWICE, JUST LIKE BEFORE SO THAT WE CAN COMPLETE IT AND VERIFY THINGS ON OUR END.)

How refunds are calculated:

YOU WILL NOT BE GETTING ANY INTEREST; DO NOT PM US ABOUT THIS. The announcement said only to refund what the person put in the bank, and that is what we are doing. To figure out how much each person is given, we are calculating your refund by adding up all your deposits, and subtracting your withdrawals. In some cases, this could mean a negative number (if you have withdrawn as much as you deposited, or even more if you withdrew interest as well); in those instances, you won't be receiving any gold, as you've already withdrawn your initial investment as well as some of your interest. So if you see that your account has been closed, yet you haven't gotten a refund, be happy, you came out ahead.

If you have a complaint regarding your refund not related to how we're calculating it, please send us a PM after your trade is complete. The only time to PM us before the trade is finished is if you think you see a math error in the way we added up your refund. In this case, please send a calm, carefully written (ie please write in real English, as we can't help you if we can't understand your chatspeak) PM explaining the situation and we'll double check and get back to you.

If you'd like to help out, we're still hiring exchangers and gamers. Also, if you'd like to donate your gold: please accept your refund. Once you've been issued your refund, and your account has been closed, send a trade to RPOG, labeled Donation instead of deposit; you do not need to include your security code. You will not be compensated for any donations made. Send them only if you genuinely want to help us out.

Recently, we've come to the difficult decision to disallow user-run banks on Gaia. While we realize that well-maintained banks provided a valuable service to the community, we've had a great deal of problems with users getting scammed by shady banks, and with banks being depositories for stolen or botted items.

These abuses were becoming all too frequent, and they posed huge difficulties for our moderation team due to the complexity of the problem. Although many banks were run legitimately, after much consideration we've decided that the potential for abuse of user-run banks simply poses too much of a risk to the security of our members.

While we appreciated the good banks, the bad banks were causing so much damage that even if we added many new moderators, the problems would continue to be incredibly difficult to deal with. We're hoping that sometime in the future we can come up with a solution that will allow banking on Gaia.

We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused by this. It always saddens us to put limits on what our members can do, but we feel that this change is really in the best interests of the community.

This bank is a simple system. You deposit gold, and our exchangers exchange with it to earn more gold. An exchanger is someone who buys and sells items to earn a profit, which is how we get your interest.

Please note that our bank is run by people. We can't be online 24 hours a day, just like you can't either. The amount of time it takes to get to a trade depends on when someone can get onto RPOG or RPOG2, and also how many other trades there are ahead of yours. Please be patient. Filling the inbox with questions about how long it will take will only slow things down more. Repeat harrassment will lead to your trade being cancelled. If you're wondering why your trade is taking so long, it's because the number of people ahead of you looks something like this.

Unless it has been more than two days and your trade has not been accepted, do not complain. Anyone who complains sooner than that will have their trade canceled, and they can resubmit it at the end of the list again. All trades are dealt with in chronological order. Do not ever harass any bank staff on their personal accounts (aka PM them) about speeding your trade up.

Remember, we are providing you with a free service which can be taken away at any point.

..~`|Starting an Account|`~..
Starting an account is simple, send RPOG a trade with at least 2k in it, using the following title. You must have your PMs set so that we can send you your opening account message with your security code. If you do not do this, your starting gold will be refunded without any interest and you will not be allowed to have an account with us.

(Opening Account) - (Amount Of Gold In Trade)

For example:

(Opening Account) - (2,000)

After we accept the trade, you will receive a PM that welcomes you to Royal Pot of Gold and gives you your security code; you will need to save your security code, also called a password. You can then check your balance and account status at our website anytime. Please log in to the website as soon as possible so that your IP can be logged. If your account were to get hacked, one way for us to verify that you are who you say you are would be to compare IP addresses, so this is for your own security.

..~`|Collecting Interest|`~..
Every ten days you earn 8% interest on your gold. This is a set interest rate, it will not go up, it will not go down. So if you deposit 1000g, after 10 days you earn 80g, ending with 1080. If you do not deposit or withdrawal any gold, after another 10 days you will earn 8% of 1080. The interest date is set, it will not change. Interest is calculated from the amount of gold that is in your account the day you earn it. Additional deposits and withdrawals in between will not affect whether you earn gold, only how much is in there when your 10 days is up.

..~`|Depositing Gold|`~..
Adding gold to your bank account is called depositing. If you would like to deposit gold, send a trade to RPOG2 labeled appropriately (Use the form below.). It will be added to your account once the trade is accepted; we will make sure to get to it as soon as we can. The minimum deposit is 500g. Please be sure the amount of gold in the trade matches the amount you write in the title. We are not responsible for entering the wrong amount into the website database if they do not match up.

For example:

(2,000) (abcde) (Deposit)

The maximum amount anyone can have in an account is 5 million gold. Once we see that an account has reached that limit, the interest rate on it will be set to 0 and no more deposits will be accepted for it. The gold may be stored as long as the account holder wishes, and they may withdraw any amount at any time they wish. Interest can be reinstated by withdrawing at least 500k from the account to bring it back below the limit.

Taking gold out of your account is called withdrawing. If you would like to withdraw gold, please send a trade to RPOG with the appropriate title. Use the following form in the trade. If you withdraw all of your gold, your balance will be set to 0 and you will not earn any gold. Your account will essentially not exist, except for our records. You may deposit more gold at any time, at which point you will begin to earn interest again. Please be sure the amount of gold in the trade matches the amount you write in the title. We are not responsible for entering the wrong amount into the website database if they do not match up.

If you change your Gaia username, or if your account gets hacked or banned, please PM RPOG immediately telling us. We will need both your old username and your security code to verify your identity.

-Please do not send trades or PMs concerning accounts to RPOG mini mall.

-Remember:
Send withdrawals and new account trades to RPOG.
Send deposits to RPOG2.
Trades sent to the wrong mule will be canceled.

-Be sure to title your trades correctly (see post 3 for instructions). Incorrectly titled trades will be canceled.

-Always have your PMs set to "everyone", so we can send you any information you might need (most importantly your security code when you open an account).

-Be patient with us. We are only human, and it takes a little time to get trades done. If you're wondering why it's taking so long, it's because the line of people waiting looks something like this. Do not complain unless it has been more than two days and there is no activity on your trade. Even then, a simple "how's the trade?" will get you much farther than flaming us.
