"It was a cool night, and even as she walked, the young woman was forced to tuck her hands deeper into her pockets and attempt to snuggle even closer into her scarf, ducking her head. A few stubborn flakes drifted from the sky to join their cousins on the white-blanketed ground, and a few stuck to the girl's lashes. A large one even dared to perch on her nose. Braving the winter's cold, a hand emerged from the warm safety of the pocket to swat the snowflake away as she laughed. 'Snow on New Year's, who'd have guessed?' Her laughter was cut short, however, as her eyes beheld a peculiar sight indeed -- the sky was falling."

"Auntie Cala, I asked for a new story. You're just telling me Chicken Little!"

"Hush now. Chicken little was a chicken, not a human girl. Now, do you want to hear the rest or not?"

"Alright, alright. But if she's just been hit on the head with an acorn...."

"No. Now....

The sky was falling, though perhaps not in the way most skies were wont to fall. It was more like the sky was... Melting. Or raining. Streaks of fire lit the night, and the young woman could have easily pretended it was just a meteor shower and the heavens' way of welcoming in the new year except that the stars' paths were vertical instead of horizontal. A loud crash left the ground vibrating, a few having hit very near. And just as suddenly as it started, it was over.

Catching her breath, she smiled. Meteorite rock was said to be lucky, and surely this would be lucky rock indeed. Deciding that the party she'd been heading to could wait, she took off in the direction everything had fallen. Half an hour later and panting, she crested the ridge that separated her from the site of impact. Staring down in awe, she shivered once more, though this time it had nothing to do with the cold.

Below her, the raining stars had fallen twice here, creating craters in the ground. In the middle of these craters were smoking pieces of rock, which caused the young woman's face to light up with a smile. Lucky indeed. Scrambling closer, she picked up a stick along the way which she used to poke at the smoking piece of sky, hoping to break a piece off. But as her prods were met with a metallic echo, she took a closer look. These weren't stars.... This was something more.

Poking it again and again, she tried to find a crack that would gave way, as it sounded more hollow than it should. Finally the end of her stick hit something that gave a little more and, with a hiss of air, the metal gave way and opened up, spilling a handful of white.... things on the ground. Reaching out to pick one up, one who's center orb was darker than the others, she ran her fingers over it, only to have it start shaking. With a gasp, she dropped it and it unfolded to reveal a little kitten-like creature.

What had she gotten herself into?"

02.16.07 - Congrats to all the recent winners! I'm excited to see everyone so interested! Pick ups are spotted throughout the thread, but the Owner's List should be up to date. I'm just waiting on a name for one Martian, and the time to colour another, but otherwise, I believe I'm caught up. Flatsale babiehs should become Fluffs soon, given how much I'd love to get some RP going on and it's hard to do that with a bit of space metal.

_____General Rules_____

1. Follow TOS, and respect other people.
2. Keep your language clean -- there are some younger kids who play here.
3. Don't steal the lineart and call it your own.
4. Don't ask questions that are already answered in the FAQ
5. Don't annoy the Staff, and respect what they have to say.
6. Don't repeatedly ask about growings/breedings/etc, espescially if you're not very active in the thread. Repeated badgering will earn you a spot on the "naughty" list.... We don't even have one yet, and I don't want to make one, but I will if I have to.
7. RolePlay is not required, but IS highly encouraged. It's fun and helps you develop relationships with others. And it's... rewarded, sometimes. ^.^

_____Flatsale Rules_____

1. Only post your order when I say"GO!" in nice, big letters
2. Please, please don't ever edit your posts. You'll be disqualified if anything is edited, even minor spelling errors. We all make mistakes, it's okay.
3. Only one Martian per person per flatsale. If you'd like to proxy for a friend, that's fine. If you do, however, you can't get one for yourself.
4. Send the trade only after winners have been confirmed.
5. Be a good sport if you don't manage to get one. There will always be other chances.

_____Auction Rules_____

1. Only bid what you have, and do not retract your bids once made.
2. Items will be accepted (donation items, and rares.) They'll be valued at the Tek Tek price for whatever day the auction starts on.
3. Co-owning will be allowed only if the bids reach above 40k.
4. An anti-snipe rule will be in effect. The final bid must hold for at least 15 minutes before a winner will be declared, however long it takes.

Like Cala. ^.^)

Martians are... Fluffy and cat-like. Their wings seem to be made of some space-age, flexible metal and seem to defy Gaian physics and gravity. All Martians have wings, and a little gem in the center of their foreheads. What these gems do besides be shiny is as of yet unknown, but why does everything have to have a purpose, anyways?

Clingons
Not a lot is known about the clingons as of yet. .... Except that as babies, they like to cling to their Martians... On their heads, hips, tails, feet... Doesn't matter. They just cling.

Commets are... weird. Most people are used to thinking of them as shooting stars, and most are, but these.... Are more like balloons with brains. They stick close to their chose Martian and follow them around. Kinda like pets or... A talking toy.

Aliens

Okay, so no one really knows what an Alien looks like, but it seems someone out there's watching out for these little Martians. Maybe if you see a flying saucer with an Alien in it, something good will happen to you? [Hint: To "see" the flying saucer, quote it!]

1. It's... Okay, it's a bit of space metal with a gem in it. It... doesn't do much. It sits there. Kinda like a pet rock, only... Better! 'Cause it's from space! biggrin

2. Fluffy! A cute little ball of fluff! Yeah! Who knew that space-metal produced fluffy things? Anyways, most of the fluffy ones have that "Cute and Innocent" thing down pat. Big eyes, oversized head... Fluffy. Who can resist? And you better soak it up and love it, 'cause their claws and teeth may be small, but they're sharp. Their wings are more for decoration at this point, but they can still, er, create nice breezes sometimes? If they're flapped really, REALLY hard? o.O

3. Kitten! It's still fluffy, and cute... Kinda. Don't call it cute or it's angst might kick in and leave you either scared or being ignored. Their feelings are sensitive at this point, and whilst they love to tease and poke fun at others, they're not very good at taking what they give. Wings can only support them for a few moments. Image the havoc if they could really use them! O.O Their greatest desire is to do whatever they're not supposed to do.... It's a fun time in life.

4. Adults! Full grown Martians still retain that bit of cute and fluffy, but they have for the most part grown into sleek and responsible adults (though if your socks are missing, a safe guess would be to look for your Martian first). Their wings can now support them in flight, though we're still not sure how. And while the occasional "no, they have cooties!" might still pop up, Martians are now able to breed and create more balls of fluff. Lucky you, eh?

5. Anthro?!? Wow... I don't think anyone really saw this one coming. Cala was fidgeting around one day with chemicals, and ended up with something kinda... Odd. Some Martians evolve into anthro form after a LONG time. Cala also developed something she can give a Martian to turn it Anthro. They average about 4' high, though the females are a tad smaller than the males.

Flatsales are relatively simple. Incase you didn't read the rules above, or have never participated in one of our flatsales before, here's a basic recap of how they work. At a predetermined date and time, My Little Martian will post "GO!" in big, bold letters. Any posts trying to claim a Martian before then will be ignored, so wait for the GO, even if it's a bit late. (Real Life happens.) You will then post, asking for one of the flatsale babies, and once it's been confirmed that you're the winner, send a trade of 5k to My Little Martian, as well as post a name (and owner, if you're proxying). Certs won't be posted until all this is recieved. If you're not around when certs are posted in the thread, don't worry. All certs will be added to the Owners List so look there.

No, they won't all be Anthro, some will even be permafluffs or kits, some will be limited edition lineart, and all will be based off of Peter Pan Characters. ^.^
An auction or two, raffles, games, and even a flatsale. SO much fun~

Right now, Cala works really odd hours, and isn't home when most people are. So. The flatsale will actually be a flaffle.
Durring a 24 hour period that's TBA, you can come and just ask for a spot in the flaffle. After time's up, the list of names will be gathered up and drawn. First drawn gets first choice, and so on, and so forth. You'll have up to 24 hours claim a Martian, else it'll skip to the next person.
If you'd like, once you've seen if you won, you're more than welcome to post a list of martians you'd like in order of preference to speed things up.

Impatient for your little one to grow up? Cala was up one night doing some of that "tinkering" she loves to do, and came up with this. A sweet, red, liquidy concoction that encourages a growth spurt in your Martian. However, a Martian's body can only handle two doses of this, else they'll get overwhelmed with all the changes in their body. Of course, you're more than welcome to try and give them three of these if you'd like, but we don't... advise it. >.> You can use this on your bit of space metal -- instead of drinking it, a few drops are placed on the gem. Those big eyes and cute nose are exactly what you've been looking for, or maybe you're so entranced by your kitten's angst that you can't imagine life without it. (Or maybe you'd like to keep them at their current age for RP purposes?) A drink or two of this minty-tasting liquid will halt their growth, and it can only be started again with the growth spurt liquid. As an added bonus, it promotes healthy teeth and a sparkling smile! Okay, so this looks a lot like toxic waste.... o.O Cala says it isn't as it doesn't smell funny, but... Oddly it smells like roses. Supposedly she was trying to make more of the growth spurt stuff, and got distracted, leaving it on the stove for too long. A bit of cinnamon also fell in, as well as a banana peel. What this does is as of yet unknown, as Satean refused to touch it, and no other Martian has been allowed around it.

Martians breed just like any other cat-like creature... We assume. Honestly, we're not sure. They go off and come back with the little bits of space-metal. The fluffies that eventually come from these bear a striking resemblance to the parents, so we assume... Stuff.

Only adults and anthros can breed, though it doesn't matter what their genders are. Usually they only have two or three offspring, though there seems to be this juice that, when drunk by a Martian, makes them feel a little light headed, happier than normal, and will generally result in more offspring and ammusing antics. Be careful though -- if you give your Martian too much too often, it'll start to loose it's effect, and the babiehs will seem a little... Special. So just be careful.

Also, if your Martian can't seem to find a mate but still has an urge for fluffies of their own, something can be arranged. Just send them our way and after a little while, they'll come back to you with a bit of that space metal between their teeth. Most often it's only one piece, but there have been rare occasions of two. Giving a single Martian the love juice will actually have adverse affects, so we reccomend not doing it.

When two Anthro Martians breed, they only have two offspring maximum, regardless of that love juice stuff, except in VERY rare cases. However, their offspring are guaranteed to become anthro. Adult and Anthro martians can breed together, but they'll only have the regular amount of offspring.

When you're ready to breed, and there are breeding spots open, please PM the mule with the following form, then send a trade of 10k (total -- how you wanna divide the cost is up to you) or 5k if your Martian is single, as well as payment for any of the Juices you may wish to use.

Some of the bits of space metal held clear gems instead of the coloured ones. At first, it was assumed that these were duds -- hey, it happens. But when someone took it home with them and wished for a Martian of their own, we realised they weren't duds -- just special.

Clear gems have the ability to have one's desires and wishes imprinted upon them. Of course, it helps if other people wish with you, which is why we need to know what you want for a Martian. All customs will start as a clear Gem. Once your desires have been sufficiently conveyed, your bit of space metal will give way to a Martian.

Lineart Edits may be done as well, but will range from 10k and up, depending on complexity.

Adult-Only Martian: 50k
Anthro: 100k
Perma-Fluff/Kitten: 20k
Gem - Adult: 75k
Cosplay*: 300k
Cosplay Anthro*: 400k

* Cosplays will be rare and limited mostly to events, as well as adult only. Cala generally doesn't like doing cosplays, which is why the price is so high. If your cosplay requires no lineart edits, it will still be single stage, but only 150k instead.

Age: 20... ish. Usually acts like a 5 year old though. ^.^
Height: Shortish. Well, on the short side of average. Yeah.
Role: Found the Martians. Loves to tinker with the bits of metal to see what'll happen. Loves to tinker in general, as well as cook. Generally knows the answer to most questions regarding Martians, etc.
Personality: ... Bubbly, childlike, innocently guilty. Smart enough, though is also blatently oblivious to most things that aren't shiny. Easily distracted, but can also be single-minded when needed.
RL Availiability: Cala currently works 12pm - 9pm CST Monday through Friday, and this is subject to change without notice.

Height: Short. He's a Martian. They're short, compared to humans. Go figure.
