The feathers suddenly stands on end, barbs rippling and glowing with a mysterious inner light. It jumps into the air slightly, but seems unwilling to leave the sound of Cubi's tinwhistle. The feather blazes with white hot magical light...and a four-inch tall child is left sitting on the sheets in a small scorched ring. She is mysterious as the night she seems to embody, with her dark body and darker rings, but she will open up to those she trusts.

Just some things about Sootki. Name pronounced Suit-key or Soot-key.

<center>Today, today... has been quite a lovely day. Last night I aquired a Fenthry feather from the Gaian Fenthry Preservation Society to love and hold dear. It's a lovely little feather, quite lovely indeed. It reminds me of a raven's feather, so dark and almost mysterious in it's own way.

Today will be a boring day I believe, because there is little I plan to do. A chat here, a chat there, a drawing or two and maybe I'll go for a walk. I'll make sure to take my feather along with me, no doubt.

The people in the Fenthry's shop are so very kind. They treat you like a friend, even as you walk in the door for the first time. And the shop is so homey, so.. welcoming. With tea and S'mores and marshmellows a plenty, I feel at home.

When I first walked over to that glass case of feathers, there was one feather over all that really caught my eye. It was Sootki... black and dark blues in color, like nothing I've ever seen before. I couldn't be drawn away from it for more than meer minutes, and when I was away it felt like hours. I knew this feather was the one for me, and I hope it will like me as much as I like it.

<center> Tonight has been a lovely evening. The world looks yellow right now, but it has just stormed here, so I am not amazed.

I have started to become friends with more people in the shop, and I've seen more feathers come and go as the day passes. Today has been a dancing and twirling kind of day for me, as I find myself dancing in the street infront of the shop with Sootki when I'm not talking to people inside the shop.

I talk to Sootki often... I hope my words will not only coax her out soon, but help her learn words quickly when she emerges... I can't wait until that day comes! I'm so excited..

<center> This morning has been rather boring, besides the fact that I had made scrambled eggs and an egg+cheese quesadilla for the first time ever! Sootki and I cooked the eggs just a little too quickly... they're kind of stringy. But, no worried, because it still tastes fine! I haven't tried the quesadilla yet, but I'm sure it's alright too.

I cannot wait until Sootki finally shows herself. I love her as a feather, but I imagine there is so much more we could do when she's a normal form like the other fenthry! Plus, I want to see her and talk with her face to face... Someday.

<center> I'm behind on writing, and I apologize.

The most wonderful thing happened just 1 day after I wrote my last entry... Sootki finally emerged. I was sitting on the bed in my room playing my tinwhistle... a rather sad tune it seemed but it made me feel good. My little fenthrie's feather was sitting apon my sheets... and just as I stopped playing, the feather started to glow... and it was... it was just this huge explosion of light! The most beautiful thing I've ever seen.. and there she was. My little Sootki... my little raven of mystery... she's finally here.
