What is immortality? Living forever? Invincibility? Being around for all eternity? That's what the Sahriyo thought. But what happens when one who is immortal dies?

Eons ago, the phoenix ruled the sky, the land, and the waters. Adaptations allowed them to stray from their fiery roots and live in the seas, the forests, and the clouds. According to legend, the phoenix dies in flames and is reborn in the ashes. For many, this myth held true. But, for a small population, genetic adaptation and mutation omitted this stage of life in the phoenix. They simply lived forever, never having to be reborn. They became a new breed of phoenix, the Sahriyo, the truly immortal.

Being intelligent enough to know their position, the Sahriyo began to use the advantage of their ageless bodies to let natural selection turn the power over from the original phoenix. During a burning, the reborn phoenix is helpless. Not even an immortal bird can live without a head. The Sahriyo needed only to wait for a phoenix burning and attack. In a very short amount of time, the Sahriyo had become the new power in the world, pushing the original phoenix into the miniority. But unfortunately, their reign was shortlived, for another power was rising...that of the humans...

No one really remembers exactly what happened, but within a century the Sahriyo became extinct only to be replaced by the human race. Their immortality could not protect them from the weapons of humans. It seemed as if the great Sahriyo were gone forever...Only that ashes aren't the only means of rebirth...

The new legacy of the Sahriyo began one day when my friends dragged me into mountain climbing. Due to my fear of heights, I clinged to the wall wondering how I ever got pulled into doing this. I could barely get the hooks pushed into the mountain side to secure my rope. Repeatedly stating that this was a certain death wish, I lifted my other foot into the next foothold. Of course, I slip...Fortunately, we had all decided to use different ropes so that we don't endanger each other in case one of use fell. Unfortunately, my inexperience at placing hooks was biting me in the a** as they snapped out of the rock and sent me plunging down the wall.

Luckily, there had been one hook that was placed correctly. Saying what I thought were my final prayers, I felt myself swinging towards the mountain side. Closing my eyes tightly, I awaited impact. It never came. Instead, I had somehow swung my way into a small hole in the side of the mountain. The sharp rocks on the cave's opening cut through my rope, sending me flying. I landed on a warm sandy floor, miraculously without injury. Taking a minute to get over the shock, I finally opened my eyes to see where I was. What I saw amazed me.

Eggs...hundreds and hundreds of eggs. They were all of different color, size, and shape. I crawled towards one, wanting to stroke its smooth golden shell. As my fingers graced the shell, I was thrown back as a powerful voice sounded through my head,

"Human! We are in need of your assisstance!"

I was obviously confused, not knowing where the voice came from nor why it would ask me for help. I cried out, "Who are you?"

"I am one of the Sahriyo of the great phoenix. Centuries ago you wiped out our race. Now that we have been reborn in these eggs, we must live along side you in hopes of surviving."

It was then that I realized that the egg I had just touched was speaking to me. I listened to its story, about the fall of the phoenix, and then the demise of the Sahriyo themselves. Instead of being reborn from ashes, the Sahriyo are reincarnated, born like any other common bird from an egg. Because they were defeated by humans, they came to the conclusion that they must live with humans in order to survive. After hearing their story, I agreed to help them. By that time, my friends had found my cut rope and helped me out of the cave. Ever since, I have gone back to that cave to gather a few eggs to give to capable guardians to care for the Sahriyo. That is where you and this store come in. Will you become a guardian to raise the immortals?

Egg

As an egg, the Sahriyo cannot do much of anything other than speak and use a few elemental powers. You may be wondering how an egg speaks to you. The reborn Sahriyo are able to retain their memories and powers while still inside the egg. One of these powers includes the power of telepathy. For those who wish their Sahriyo to grow into full adults, you must listen to the stories the Sahriyo tell you now, for they will lose all their past abilities as soon as they hatch from their shell. By losing their link to the past, they will become helpless hatchlings that will need to be retaught everything they once knew.

Time as an egg: 1-2 weeks depending on activity in thread

Hatchling

Hatched from the egg, the Sahriyo hatchlings have reverted back into their most primitive form. Helpless and vulnerable, your job as a guardian is to reteach them what they told you as an egg. They cannot speak through telepathy anymore, so you must teach them your language. Despite their fragileness, they are otherwise cute, adorable, huggable, feathery fuzzballs that adore attention and are eager to become bonded with you through both your hearts and minds.

Time as a hatchling: 1-2 weeks depending on activity in thread

Fledgling

No longer are your Sahriyo cute, adorable bundles of feathers. As a fledgling your Sahriyo has almost reached full growth. They are again able to speak, and are able to successfully use the powers they have gained through association with a certain element. Stronger and more powerful, the fledgling may become irritable or violent. For those who wish to not consistently interact with their Sahriyo, your Sahriyo's growth ends here. Only those who have reached the Epiphany may achieve adulthood and full power.

Time as a fledgling: Indefinite unless an Epiphany occurs

Adult

In this stage, your Sahriyo has achieved full growth. Having remembered its past through an Epiphany, the adult can effectively tap into the powers embedded within themselves, making for a truly powerful creature. As an adult, the Sahriyo can receive special priviledges, such as breeding rights and a chance at discovering whether or not there is another stage beyond the adult...

Time as an adult: At this moment in time...indefinite

There are six known subspecies of Sahriyo. Of the years, their different habitats have caused certain changes in their color and personality. Here are the six common subspecies of Sahriyo:


Taiga

The Taiga are the Sahriyo of ice. Back before the rise of humans, they lived near the north and south poles. Through living under harsh conditions, these Sahriyo have a sharp wit and a hard demeanor. To blend in with the ice, the Taiga normally have an array of light blue, lavendar, and white feathers. They have been known to cause blizzards and snowstorms, as well as freeze lakes and other large water sources.



Pyra

The Pyra are the Sahriyo of fire. They used to live around what is known today as The Ring of Fire around the Pacific ocean. Volcanoes are scattered around this area, provinding the needed heat for these fiery birds. The Pyra the Sahriyo most closely related to the original phoenix. The Pyra, like their volcanic habitat, have explosive personalities. Their mood swings can be deadly, as one moment they can be sleeping peacefully and then suddenly start running around spewing fire. Their feathers range from bright reds and oranges to cold fire blues and yellows.



Lumiera

The Lumiera are the Sahriyo of lightning. These are one of the few Sahriyo who learned to live up in the skies. They can stay in flight for days, never having to rest. When they do come to a rest, it is normally on the peak of a large mountain. Their feathers are normally black like the skies of the storms they cause. The Lumiera control the electric charges in the sky, causing lightning storms whenever and wherever they please. These Sahriyo can be extremely violent, like the lightning they control. Their power spreads anywhere from static shocks to celestial discharges from the stars. Be extremely careful should you choose to raise a Lumieran Sahriyo.



Tsuna

The Tsuna are the Sahriyo of water. These are the Sahriyo that have adapted to life in the sea. There are two types of Tsuna, the Atlantic and the Pacific. Coming from the violent Atlantic Ocean, the Atlantic Tsuna have a more violent nature and enjoy causing enormous rainstorms and hurricanes, which they normally team up with the Lumiera to accomplish. Coming from the calmer Pacific Ocean, the Pacific Tsuna are much milder in nature. They tend to enjoy the calm waters they govern over, and shriek over the typhoons that sometimes occur. The Tsuna Sahriyo have dark blue feathers which blend in with the waters of the oceans.


Aeria

The Aeria are the Sahriyo of the air. These are the only Sahriyo that can stay in flight forever without stopping. Their bodies have become so accustomed to the skies, it is said that they are able to rest among the clouds. The Aeria control over everything from a light summer breeze to vicious tornados. They tend to have a very carefree nature, doing what they want, when they want, and not thinking of the consequences. Their feathers tend to have soft pastel colors, despite their mischievious nature.



Terra

The Terra are the Sahriyo of earth. These Sahriyo spend most of their time on land, living in the forests and plains. Many content themselves by creating various flora and fauna in the land around them, but there are a few renegade Terra who like to cause destruction through shattering earthquakes. The Terra have a very calm nature, and they are extremely slow to anger. Their feathers mostly consist of very earthy tones like browns, oranges, and grays.

Yes, roleplaying is optional, but there are special perks for those who do. If you want to roleplay your Sahriyo to become an adult, this is the basic set of events that must happen.


Firstly, when you specify that you are going to roleplay your Sahriyo, you will receive a journal. This journal will be yours to design and write in. Your Sahriyo will begin as an egg. In this stage, you must roleplay interaction with the egg. Talk to your egg and find out its lifestory, for you will need to remember it later for the Epiphany. Once the egg hatches, you now have to reteach all the basic skills to your Sahriyo such as speech and powers. After a few weeks, your hatchling will grow into a fledgling. Then you must work up to the Epiphany in order for your Sahriyo to grow into its adult stage.


Now, you're all probably wondering what this Epiphany thing is that I've been talking about. The Epiphany is the moment in time where your fledgling Sahriyo remembers everything of its past life before it was reborn into an egg. You must help your Sahriyo reach its Epiphany through slowly telling it of the memories it told you during the egg stage. When you roleplay the Epiphany, you must write up the entire history of your Sahriyo. I'm not talking about in a paragraph, I'm saying with no less than 3 well-written paragraphs. You must PM it to me before posting it in either your journal or in the thread. Don't worry, I won't grade it like an english teacher to a critical research paper, but I will look at it for content and effort. If the Epiphany doesn't pass my approval, I will not count it as an Epiphany and explain what you need to work on. Spelling and grammar do help 3nodding . The Epiphany must be achieved in order for your Sahriyo to progress into its Adult stage. Have fun!

Even just a simple, "hi!" is okay.

A: Hell no! You can come in just to chat/talk/rant and whatnot. I'm giving some slack on the whole rp thing, so don't worry about it.

Q: I'm one of the earlier owners, and have had to put up with journals and insane rp requirements. Now that you've changed the rules, do I have to continue that?
A: If you're one of the earlier owners from before this layout change, then you have the option of discontinuing your journal should you choose not to rp your Sahriyo anymore. Just remember that your Sahriyo will now not be able to reach its adult stage.

Q: What happens if I spam/b***h/whine/be a dumbass/stretch the page?
A: You shall be greylisted...

The Ultimate Christmas Gift!!! What nonsense am I splurting out now? Well, I decided to try something new for Christmas. Now, everyone has something that they especially want for Christmas don't they? Of course! Whether its items, art, a breedable, etc...everybody wants something. Well, here is your chance to get that one special thing you want! The Ultimate Christmas Gift will be set up as such:


  • Gold will be donated into a collective pool, the amount of which shall be posted on this page.
  • Sahriyo owners may sign up for this event until December 24, 2004.
  • On or a little after Christmas Day ((I have no idea what I'm doing for Christmas so I may or may not be here)), using randomizer.org, one owner will be randomly chosen to use the pool of gold to buy whatever item they've been longing for!! Sounds like fun right?


I know what you're thinking. Why the heck would I want to donate for this? Well, there's prizes, that's why! Every Sahriyo owner who donates over 2k will receive a special limited edition halo for their Sahriyo:

Now who wouldn't want that for their Sahriyo? Also, the top three donators who are owners will receive custom familiars, as in you get to choose whatever little creature you want to accompany your Sahriyo.

Now you're probably wondering, "We only have a handful of owners. How is this donation pool going to be worth anything?" Well, I've come up with yet another idea! Non-owners may also donate into the pool. Why would they want to? Because the top two donors who do not own a Sahriyo will receive a special edition Santa Claus Sahriyo, complete with a Santa Hat and red a white coloring. Then, all the other non-owner donators will be placed into the randomizer to see which lucky person will receive a custom colored Sahriyo! Now doesn't that sound enticing?

Also, raffles and auctions will be held during this month for other special edition Christmas Sahriyo. A secret santa event will also be set up once I figure out what to give out for Secret Santa xd . There comes a time when two Sahriyo fall in love and they wish to reproduce. This leads to the production of more eggs! Within each egg is another reborn Sahriyo who has to remember its past.

Price: 2k from each owner



Breeding Rules
- Breeding may start once your Sahriyo reaches its fledgling stage

- The two Sahriyo mating must have interacted before. None of this, "I met this person 5 minutes ago and now we want to mate!" stuff stare . All that I require is that the owners at least know each other on the thread.

- Fledglings may have up to three eggs per breeding, and may only breed with 1 partner twice. After that, no more breeding.

- Adults may have up to five eggs per breeding, and may breed with up to 2 partners twice each.

- For a fledgling breeding, one egg goes to each owner to sell/auction/giveaway/keep (as long as they haven't gone over the 2 Sahriyo limit) and the last egg goes to me for selling purposes.

- For an adult breeding, two eggs go to each owner to sell/auction/giveaway/keep (as long as they haven't gone over the 2 Sahriyo limit) and the last egg goes to me for selling purposes.

- For breeding auctions, I will ask for 5% of the final bid, whether it be in items or pure gold.

- All normal auction rules apply to breeding auctions.
