10/29/04 - IMPORTANT!!! the thread will be moving after Halloween...so there will be no more updates here....PLUS the tags for the tarca will be changing PLUS ALL THE URLS so you will need ot pick up the URL once i announce the change

10/1/04 - Halloween is in the making. Be on the look out for raffles and auctions....you never know there might be a Nightmare Before Christams going on
9/21/04 - Flatsale went off with out a hitch, Raffle went pretty well...so all the eggies have nice new homes. I hope to see the owners in here soon...

It is not known who first discovered the Tarca but they appear in legends from almost every culture. Sometimes they are the Gods of the mountains, other times they are spirit guides, and sometimes they are omens of either good or bad fortune. They were thought to be nothing more than legend until one was found by The Wanderer of the Worlds…

Eggs – The eggs are sturdy with shells that seem to almost be made of stone. They are this hard because of their home on the mountains.

Baby – Babies are like most children. They like learning and exploring and making friends.
- 2-3 feet tall

Adults – Very independent when grown. They will see you not as an owner but as a companion. Mature and wise.
- 3-5 feet tall

*Note - Tarca can speak human languages. They learn like childrens do. When they hatch they have to learn words. Once they turn into adults they have full knowledge of English<center>

These are the most powerful of the Tarca. Each holds the power of a single element and can control some aspects of that element. Sadly none of these has been discovered yet...maybe one day we will be lucky enough to find one.

Legend of the Nightmare Tarca

These are the creatures that haunt the nightmares of people of any age. They are the bringers of bad dreams and omens of evil times.

These children of darkness were once like the others, but they desired more. A few wanted more power in the realm of the humans. As they pined for things they could not have they were pulled deeper and deeper into the darkness that dwells in the heart of the universe. Thus they found their way to the Realm of Nightmares.

They were given wings made of flesh and bone. They grew bigger and stronger than they formerly were and they finally embraced the way of the shadows.

No one has ever seen one of these creatures, though most have had dreams brought to them on their wings…

Legend of the Seraphim Tarca

As some of the Tarca wandered toward the darkness others wandered closer to light. These creatures bring with them omens of happiness and pleasant dreams.

As they watched the humans live these few wanted to help in any way they could. If it meant giving up their lives for the humans they would have gladly given them. Sadly this caused some trouble with the others. The Seraphim felt that they were better than others because they were willing to help and thought they should be treated better.

Eventually they left the others questing for ways to get closer to the Gods they loved. Soon they were taken up and given the wings of the angels and rings of light to grace their heads. They grew larger and their fur grew softer and thicker.

Once they gained their sought after status they almost completely disappeared from sight, no one has seen one of them in many, many years…<center>

Q. How much are the eggs?
A. For Flatsales they are 3k. Auctions will start at 3k also, and raffles will be 100g a ticket (unless other wise stated)

Q. Do I have to roleplay to keep/have a Tarca and how active do I have to be?
A. No, these are not ropleplay required but you are also not allowed to get one and then never be heard from again. Just be around, if you don’t want to RP then just pop in and say hi a few times (maybe once a week at least).

Q. If we are really active and RP a lot do we get perks?
A. Of course! There will be things you can get that others won't. Like extra breeding privileges and some suprises.

Q. Do I have to host them myself?
A. Nope, if you want to save me bandwidth when your Tarca evolves you can host it yourself but you don't have to.

Q. How many Tarca can I own?
A. You can get one 1st Gen and as many of later generations as you want (SE Tarca are exempt from this, but please don’t hoarde them).

Q. Can we Co-own?
A. Sure why not. But if you RP then make sure you both play the same personality

Q. If I no longer want the Tarca can I give it away or sell it?
A. I would rather this not happen, but I understand that sometimes life is more important than Gaia. At any time you can give your Tarca away for free (if you charge for it and I find out on the other hand…) and you can sell it back to me (price will be discussed between the owner and myself via PM).

Q. When is the next sale?
A. I don’t know, when ever I feel like having one…please don’t ask this.<center>

Since these creatures are Spirits they mate for life. Breeding will cost 3k (split between the parents). If you want to mate two Tarca that are not lifemated for the soul purpose of seeing what their color combinations will make that will cost you 5k (cause I would rather this not happen). Tarca must be an adult to breed.

Breeding of the Elementals
* Info to be released when they are ^.^

Offspring
New Parents – usually have 2 eggs, rarely more can happen
Life Mated – anywhere from 2-6 eggs with 4 being the usual number.
Color breeding – 2 eggs

The owners of the parents have control of the eggs until they hatch. It is up to you to decide who the eggs go to.

Selling Offspring
Offspring may kept, auctioned, or sold at flatsale price or given away. 25% (1/4) of sales must go back to the Tarca staff and there is a cap (Auto) on auctions of 16k (cause you are not allowed to get rich off breeding your Tarca).

There will be a limited number of spots available (probably 2-3). If you want your Tarca life mated the two Tarca must show this is the thread, you cannot just pop up one day and say that they are life mated.

These rules are to be followed without protest. The Tarca staff are Gods (mods if you will) of the threads and we will not take breaking rules lightly.

1. You are not allowed to take and either modify/use/resell Merangue’s art. Fan art is fine as long as you give credit to the design. If you are caught stealing you will be reported to a Gaian Moderator.

2. Be Considerate. Do not ask the same questions over and over again. I have other things to do and you bugging me about sales or breedings and such will not make me work faster. All this will get you is graylisted or if it continues past your warning blacklisted. The same goes for my staff.

3. Read before you ask. The information is up in these posts to help you. Not just 'cause I like typing. You will not get banned for asking a question, whether it has already been asked before or not, but it helps us all if you read first.

4. Keep to the PG-13 rating and do not be offensive. No cursing, no fighting, no racial slurs, nothing! I expect everyone to be nice to everyone else. If you really have a problem with someone take it to PM. Treat EVERYONE with respect. I don’t care who they are.

5. If you see someone RPing please respect this. RP is not required but I hope it will happen anyway ^.^ Please if you see people RPing do not badger them. Normal conversation and roleplaying can be done at the same time. Any pets can be RPed here not just the Tarca, but remember keep to the PG-13 rule!

6. Flat sales do not start until I say so in BIG RED LETTERS. Posts before I make the announcement, even if it's after the time stated, will be ignored. Again NO EDITING<center>

Guardians are for Owners only. They will help your Tarca grow and learn as they get older.

There are 3 forms that Guardians come in. One is rare and will be kept a secret until the first is released. The Guardians will usually look like their charge (sometimes they will be different) and will have the same powers. (i.e a guide to a fire elemental will have fire porperties) 1 guide per Tarca, unless a strange event occurs.

Guardians can be obtained in flatsales and events.
All sales and events will be anounced at least a day in advance.

if you want a specific color you better beg and plead and cough up for it ^.^ and there better be a good reason.

Guardian eggs are 2.5k
