Where once lay a cheerful, innocent baby now stands a cold, aloof toddler. His time with the rabbits shortly before he grew taught him not to trust too easily, and never depend on others, because you never know when they might leave you. His relationship with Inle is somewhat strained due to the incident, in spite of Inle's attempts to mend it. Ciaran has become very self-reliant because of his unwillingness to once more trust his caretaker. He's still the same slightly manipulative boy he was as an infant, but his games are no longer innocent. He's found that, by acting a certain way around certain people, he's more likely to get what he wants, and he rarely hesitates before doing so. Ciaran is hungry for knowledge, but also for interaction with others in spite of it all.

Name: Inle-roo Iridien
Gender: Female
Birthdate: 12/05/84
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 135 lbs.
Hair Color: Black streaked with purple
Eye Color: Purple

Inle is an incredibly laid-back person, bordering on lazy. She enjoys little more than sleeping in. Her tastes run towards the eccentric, as her collection of unique rubber duckies and 80's heavy metal records indicates. While she isn't a people person, she doesn't go out of her way to alienate herself; not on purpose anyway. Inle is incredibly cynical and sarcastic, but neither bitter nor angry, and she's loyal and protective of those she cares about. To her friends and family, she's always got a shoulder to cry on and an ear to rant into.

Briseis is a curious baby. She's very vocal and expressive, even for someone so young. She can't talk yet, of course, but she seems to make a different kind of sound depending on what she wants. She loves playing with the fluffy end of Narawen's tail, and seems to get along well with everyone in the house, although she's afraid of Vangreth.

Caduceus has got a rebellious streak, and tends to be somewhat manipulative. Deep down, he's got a good heart. He often helps Inle take care of the younger members of the household. Deuce, as he is nicknamed, is rarely seen without his staff and lantern.

Ephenrix is a Phuuaso Inspirati. The Phuuaso are born completely apathetic, and rarely take the initiative to do anything without being told. Such is the case with Ephenrix, although Inle is trying to teach it how to feel. It doesn't seem to care one way or the other about much of anything yet, however, though it does seem to have a sweet tooth...

Vangreth is a Windigo, a devourer of spirit and flesh. Vangreth isn't exactly a social creature, but she's amicable enough towards Inle, if no one else. She doesn't really like anyone else, especially the children, as she's been banned from eating them.

He has grown into a quiet, inquisitive child. Eki doesn't hesitate to speak his mind; it probably won't earn him many friends in the future, but he doesn't seem to care. He is just as picky about who he deigns to acknowledge, and will often ignore those he deems unworthy in hopes that they'll leave him alone.

Khepri is a Lunec. He's a playful sort, if a bit airheaded, and always ready to help. He, like Deuce, helps Inle out with many of the younger children.

He is afraid of just about everything, and will often blow things out of proportion if there's even a hint that it might be dangerous. He's very curious, although whether it's genuine curiosity or a spaz attack waiting to happen is a different story.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Spunky and cheerful, Delphina is a fun person to be around. She's usually quite perky and playful, and LOVES jokes; she has a mischievous streak a mile wide, but she doesn't mean any harm. She can occasionally come off as insensitive, though, because of her fondness for jokes and seeming inability to take anything seriously.

Kota comes from a talisman Inle picked up on a shopping trip. He has the power to change his size (to a degree), but not his outward appearance. He loves mimicing people and things, almost to the point of annoyance. He is often seen floating aimlessly around the house.

Narawen is a wild Feli, and was Inle's first pet; it was actually Narawen who adopted her. Because of this, the two have an unbreakable bond. Narawen is intensely curious, and seems to get along well with the other members of the household. She will often leave the house for days to visit the Feli House, where many of the other Felis live.

Tama is a Cremello Ocelot Banthi, the youngest cub of his clan's Alphess and her mate. Like his mother, he's got wings, and will often soar the skies for no other reason than the sole pleasure of flight. He's fiercely loyal to his family and (most) of his clan. He is a battler in his clan, and trains nearly nonstop; although some might take him as overly serious, those who know him know that he's got quite the sense of humor.

Very little is known about Scylla, a ghost dragon, as he is rarely seen. He arrived on Halloween, circling the house with the other ghosts that night, and hasn't quite left yet.

Gideon (left) and Nil (right) are Leguanis. They showed up in boxes on Inle's doorstep one day and haven't left the house since. They're like really big, lazy dogs, who don't do much but eat, sleep, and look cute. They're handy for scaring off would-be burglars, though.

Maggie is a CrocoStyle, and one of the first. She came from a high heeled shoe. She's a sassy, spunky little croc who never fails to get into trouble. She may be small, but she doesn't let any of the bigger creatures in Inle's house take advantage of that.

Mina is a vampiric Blath. She doesn't come into the house much, preferring to stay outside and raid Inle's garden for fruits, vegetables, and small rodents. She and her sprite Seras are an inseparable pair.

Nebel is a fog Wethkin. It's only about the size of a gumball, so it's rarely seen. It wanders with Kota around the house, and you can often hear it coming before you see it because of the "myuh" sound it will often make.

Stolza is obviously still an egg. Nothing is known about her, except that one day she will hatch as a Guardian of Gaia. Inle often carries her around, not trusting the others in the house to leave the egg alone.

Tessa is more like an overgrown puppy than a gryphon. She is incredibly playful and attempts to get the other pets to join her in her games, usually to no avail. She's also got a chewing problem, as no piece of furniture is safe from her sharp beak and claws.

The Sprocket Army comes from Moorgahaine's Emporium & Forge. One of each Sprocket populates the house, and they all do different things. Some of them have bonded themselves to various members of the household, but some still remain independant.

Chaco felt his feet touch the doorstep of the home he was at. A quick glance around and he noticed the mail box. Of course, he could always knock, but he was in a hurry and wanted to get on with all this, without getting into a long winded conversation with someone. So quietly, he placed the letter in the box, rapped heavily on the door, and took to the sky once more, headed for the next house.

Once opened, the letter reads:

Quote:
Dear Sir or Madam,

I would like to invite you to a small get together at Aileen Shiroko's home, 12 Elton Avenue. Please come as quickly as you can.

Thank you,

Chaco

Yes, it was vague, but he could barely write, let alone figure out what to say on paper!
Hello! Just dropping in to give you a small gift to maybe put on your sig or profile if you wanted. And there's a little present from Oriana too.

1/16/05 - RP Recap

Inle wandered up to 12 Elton Street, looking fairly pissed off. It had been a long, messy day, and she really wasn't up for a wild goose chase. She had decided to give whoever this "Aileen" person was a piece of her mind, if they did indeed exist. Her black combats scraped the pavement as she walked up to the door, trenchcoat billowing around her as a sudden gust of wind brushed by. With a last check of the house number as told by the note in her hand, she knocked on the door.

Chaco left Rayne and the two babies for a moment, when he heard the door. One look at Solo had told him that the kitsune had no intentions of answering the door anymore, so Chaco was going to have to do it himself. Sighing slightly, he entered the front hall, and pulled open the door.

One look at the girl told him that not only was she one of the people he had sent a note to, but... er... she wasn't very please...

Oh god, he didn't need to be yelled at again today. He'd aleady had two people visciously annoyed at him, and now this was a third. Finally he sighed, and pulled the door open all of the way, "Er... Perhaps you should come in. I'll explain everything once we're in the living room..." He spotted... Kiita, wasn't it? as well, and beckoned her and the sin'aeis child she was carrying inside.

Inle was JUST getting ready to scream a string of obscenities at the boy who opened the door when he oh-so-politely invited her in. She closed her mouth with an audible click, somewhat bemused; she couldn't very well yell at him NOW, after he had been so nice, although the evil thought was still there. She blinked, muttered an, "Uhh...ok," and followed the bat-winged child.

Chaco led the way into the large and overly decorated living room and motioned for the woman to sit wherever she pleased, "Er.. What was you name, miss? I forgot to ask." He was glad she hadn't yelled at him, though. He might very well have burst into tears had she done so, as depressed as he was feeling at the moment.

The miss in question rose a thricely-pierced brow as she lowered herself into an uncomfortable-looking chair, purple eyes narrowing a bit as she glanced at the boy. He looked exhausted, poor thing, and she idly wondered where his parents were.

"My name's Inle," she replied. "And yours?"

Chaco sighed slightly, worried about giving his name, but. Well, he might as well get it over with, "My name is Chaco. I wanted to ask a favor of you. Er... It was the same favor I asked the rest of these people," he motioned to Lividie, Rayne, and Kiita, "To ask you to take care of a child for me... Uhm..."

She spared a glance at the other three women in the room before turning back to Chaco, and sighed as she heard his request. Do I have "Mommy Material" stamped on my forehead, or something? That's like the third one this week! She considered refusing, she really did; deity knew she had enough mouths to feed. But really, what else did she have to do with her time these days?

After a silent moment of pondering, she looked levelly at the boy in front of her. "What kind of child?" she asked warily.

Chaco blinked at her slightly, then said, "I-I'll go get him. Uhm." With that said, he rushed out of the room to grab the child. Soon he returned with a bundle in his arms, and moved back toward Inle, "This is him," he handed the child to the woman, "He is a Sin'aeis, like myself, with his soul bonded to the element Carrot. Er. I mean, food, not element." He kept saying element. Unfortunately no-one in this realm know what he meant when he said it. Old habits dies hard, he supposed.

Inle reluctantly took the child, instinctively cradling it in her arms. She peered at the child, who was just opening its golden eyes, as if waking from a nap. It was then that she noticed the long, floppy bunny ears. Everything seemed to fade out for her then, as she studied the child more closely. She was silent as Chaco spoke, so focused was she on the boy in her arms, although she was brought out of her musings at the mention of a carrot.

She tilted her head up, blinking blankly at Chaco. "A carrot, huh? Wow, talk about irony...what's a Sin-thingy?"

Chaco blushed slightly, being reminded that he had forgotten to explain everything. He really did need to write out a speech or something for this, or get Solo to do it for him. He took a deep breath to try to get his mind on track, and started, "I, am a Sin'aeis. It is what my type of people were called. We're originally from a different realm as this one, however something happened. We... Didn't know what, and couldn't stop it, so the high council of my kingdom decided that they'd take the youngest breeder and bind his soul to something in this dimension. That person ended up being me. Along with binding my soul to this realm, they bound the souls of all the people in my kingdom to me. It is my job to bring back those people in this world, and try to bring back my kingdom. Each Sin'aeis child's sould was bound to some food, as I need to bind them to something organic. Uhm..." He wondered if he had left anything out. He probably had, but the woman might need time to digest what he had just told her.

The baby in Inle's arms squirmed, eyes fully open now, as if it was wondering what was going on. Inle instinctively clutched the boy tighter, not enough to hurt him, but enough to ensure that he wouldn't roll off her lap. She took Chaco's story in with a little more than a grain of salt--it was more like a whole salt lick--but decided that if indeed the boy's story was true, it would explain the whole carrot/rabbit connection.

"I see," she murmured. "...and why me, exactly?"

Chaco's blush intensified competely and he stared at his feet, knowing he was going to get smacked for the answer. The only other person he had told, other than his uncle, had pretty much disregarded it and figured he was insane. Finally he said, "Er... I chose randomly from a phone book. I mean, it wasn't so random as... Uhm... Well, I chose names that seemed like they were... I don't know... right. If that makes any sense..." It probably didn't. He really did need to plan all this out better...

"...a phone book." Well, that was a new one. Usually, her kids just followed her home, or fell from the sky, or popped out of weird scrolls. While possibly not the smartest way to get guardians for kids, it certainly was creative. "That's...pretty ingenious, kid, I've gotta admit. It saves the time of sticking the babies on random people's doorsteps, if nothing else."

Chaco shuffled his feet slightly, and tucked his wings in tighter to his back. He hadn't expected for it to be called ingenious, as such. In fact, he'd expected to be laughed at, or worse. "Uhm.." He looked back up at Inle rather nervously. He didn't know why the woman shook his up so much. It must have just been because he was having a bad day. "Uhm... So... Will you accept, and please take care of the child for me?"

Inle sighed, looking down at the bundle in her arms. The golden-eyed boy was blinking up at her curiously, nose twitching very much like a rabbit's might. She poked the blanket-swaddled bundle with a finger, and the rabbit boy giggled up at her. "Like I've got a choice," she said in an amusedly resigned tone. "Does this kid have a name?" she asked, looking up once more at Chaco.

Chaco shuffled his feet slightly again, staring at the woman, "Uhm... No, he doesn't. Uhm..." He looked back down at the floor embarrassed, "You can name him whatever you like. He's your child now, after all." Of course, she had only accepted reluctantly. The other protectors had grown attatched to their Sin'aeis quite quickly... This woman was different, however. She was a lot more composed than the others had been, as well.

The hardest part, in Inle's opinion, of having so many kids and pets was simply trying to find names for them all. She would have to think long and hard on this one; it was only fitting that the bunny boy have a proper Lapine name, but she had a feeling that wouldn't be happening. "My child. Right."

Said child's eyes diverted from her face to her head. He seemed to be staring at her purple-streaked black hair. As if to confirm her suspicion, he wriggled an arm free of the confining blanket he was wrapped in and reached a chubby arm upwards. Inle grinned down at him, bending her head to allow a lock of her hair fall downwards. The child reached for it awkwardly, eventually closing his hand around it, and tugged. Inle winced.

Chaco watched in silence for a moment. Inle didn't seem all too happy about receiving the carrot child. It was an automatic wince, when he noticed carrot pull on the woman's hair, and he sighed slightly. Finally he said, "Uhmm... If you... If you don't want him I can try to find him another protector... I mean... Uhm..."

Inle tried to turn her head upwards to address the boy, but the rabbit's hold on her hair was firm. She settled for rolling her eyes upwards, though she still couldn't see him very well. "Hun," she began, "I have a flesh-eating demon spirit in my house. I have a baby that's going to grow up to be a really, really big lizard. I found a kid in my backyard today that fell from the SKY. Taking care of a food-based kid, for me, is halfway normal. I'm not giving up this kind of normalcy for anything." She grinned in what she hoped was a reassuring manner.

Chaco smiled alight at Inle, happy that she hadn't wanted to give carrot back. It would have been so much harder to find a second protector, since there usually only seemed to be one for each child. He looked down at the small rabbit boy, the reached forwards and gently tried to loosen Carrot's grip from the woman's hair, "Er..."

The rabbit seemed to take offense at Chaco's interference and let out a squealing screech of protest that left Inle wincing. "It's alright, rooli," she crooned down at him, although her goal was the same as Chaco's. She finally convinced the rabbit to let go of her hair by giving him her finger instead, and he tugged it down to his mouth, proceeding to chew on it with a happy burble.

Chaco grinned sheepishly at Inle, "Sorry, if I had known he would be that... er... clingy, I would have warned you..." He looked down at the small rabbit-like Sin'aeis, and the sighed. Carrot was the last one to be gived to his protector. That made eight Sin'aeis in all, including himself. He'd probably take a break from binding them, until he could figure out a better way to give them to their protectors. "Uhm... You don't have to decide on a name right away, either. Take your time with it."

Inle chuckled, attention never leaving the boy upon her lap. "It's quite alright, as long as he's not biting anything off." She found the bunny's apparent loyalty to a woman he had just met to be endearing, if not promising. As for the name thing... "Yeah, I think I will need a bit of time to figure this one out. All in good time, though."

Chaco looked down at Carrot and smiled, "Hmmm... Well, I know you'll be able to think of a good name for him." The chocolate boy was feeling a lot more at ease, now, "But perhaps you should take care of that biting thing before he grows teeth." He smirked slightly, and then his face split into his usual cheeky grin.

The rabbit twitched a floppy ear, as if he knew he was being talked about. He sighed, his breath coming out as a stream of nonsense words as he snuggled himself deeper into Inle's arms. The woman was comfy, he decided, and started to drift to sleep once more, eyelids lowering.

"Nah, he's a rabbit, of course he's gonna chew things. I'll just have to get him something that tastes better, is all." As the baby began to doze, Inle looked up at Chaco. "So there's more of these things, right? Are they all veggies, or are there some fruits mixed in too?" Her tone was teasing, as if she was laughing at a joke only she would understand.

Chaco blinked at her, "Vegg--? Oh! No, no, they're not. In fact, I'm an excellent example. My soul was bound to that of milk chocolate. Er..." He rolled his eyes upwardly. It had originally been just chocolate, but then he'd bound a soul to White chocolate, and so everyone had decided they needed to differentiate between the two. "In any case, there's also White Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Tomato, Strawberry, Cinnamon Bun, and Fish. I think that's all." He paused for a moment before saying, "Uhm."

Kunny smirked, "Actually, they all seem to know their ways around pretty well. Tir, Luc, and Leon have already learned where all of the hiding spots ae, so that they can't get caught by Albel when he's in a particulaly bad mood." For a second the assassin stopped to think. In face, most of the creatures around this house WERE abnormally small, weren't they? None of them seemed larger than two feet, except for Qlon, Solo, and Chaco. And Yasushi was still a baby, so he didn't really count, yet.

Inle nodded; it sounded like the boy had chosen well from the five different food groups, and it would be interesting to see the babies' personalities develop. With a sigh and a bit of effort, she rose, looking down at Chaco. "As...interesting as this was, I've got to get home. Gotta make sure the zoo didn't destroy the house and all. Don't worry though, I've got a feeling I'll be back." She gave Chaco a grin and a parting nod before walking out the door, careful not to let it slam shut behind her lest it wake the baby sleeping in her arms.
1/18/05 - Narrative

The rabbit baby was laying upon his back on the large kitchen table. He seemed to be contemplating the ceiling fan, but he was really trying to roll onto his stomach. All of the members of the family, his surrogate brothers, sisters, and mother, surrounded the table. Some of the pets joined, too: Tama was sitting at the table, resting the underside of his chin upon it, and Narawen was actually laying ON the table. They were all staring at the bundled bunny. Various sprockets flew by, occasionally stopping to see what was going on before darting off when they saw nothing that held their interests.

"So," Inle started, balancing both Briseis and Eki on her lap. "Anyone got any ideas?"

Delphina raised a chubby hand and waved it in the air. "I know, I know! Bunnybunnybunny!" she said, wonderfully oblivious to the task at hand.

Inle sighed, but smiled at the Astra. "Yes, sweetie, it is a bunny. But can anyone think of a NAME for the bunny?"

Utter silence from everyone, except for a lone sprocket that zipped by, saying "Yippee!" in a high pitched voice.

"What about...Bob? Or Bugs?" Ephenrix suggested, earning him a look of disbelief from Inle. "Or not," he muttered. On the table, the rabbit shrieked almost indignantly, as if agreeing with his guardian.

Eki's arms were stretched out on the table, and he seemed to be batting at the corners of a book that was lying atop it. No one was aware of this until the book clattered noisily to the ground. Everyone's attention was diverted for a moment to the little reptile, Caduceus, who was sitting next to Inle, bent to retrieve the book. As he did, he noticed something on the cover...

"What about Ciaran?" he said, placing the book face-up on the table so everyone could see it. Ciaran turned out to be the first name of the book's author. Everyone turned to Inle, who seemed to be seriously considering the name. Carefully, she handed Briseis and Eki to Deuce, then stood, leaning over the bunny.

"What do you think, kiddo?" she asked him, as if she thought he would reply. To everyone's surprise, the baby burbled happily, twitching one floppy ear. He seemed to be smiling, and his golden eyes flickered in the light.

Inle smiled. "Ciaran it is, then."
1/25/05 - Narrative

Ciaran was sitting on the kitchen floor, looking upwards. How he got there, no one knew, and yet, there he was. He was looking up at the counter, upon which lay a large, orange muffin. His orange muffin. Ciaran knew it was his, because Inle had been holding him as she bent to take it and a note off the front stoop. His name had been mentioned in the note, and the note was attached to the muffin, so who else could the tasty looking treat be for?

Inle had looked dubiously at the muffin and shook her head, muttering, "Maybe when you're older." Ciaran didn't want to wait until he was older; he wanted the muffin now. So he did what any self-respecting baby would have done, and started wailing his copper-colored head off.

Sure enough, a moment later, Inle slid into the kitchen with sock-clad feet, always fun times when combined with a hardwood floor. She immediately scooped up the crying bunny, whose wails tapered into whimpers as she rocked and murmured to him soothingly. "What is it, rooli, hmm?" she crooned at him.

Ciaran looked up at her, topaz eyes still wet with tears, and then looked pointedly at the counter. As it seemed his mother still didn't get it, Ciaran pointed with a chubby fist at the current object of his desire. "Da!" he cried, voice caught on a sob.

Inle frowned, stroking the little rabbit's back soothingly. "Aww, honey," she said, "you're too little for that! It's not food for--"

Ciaran's renewed whimpers cut her off, and Inle's frown deepened as she stared down at him. Their eyes locked, and Ciaran sniffled dramatically, giving her his best puppy-dog eyes. After a minute, Inle sighed, and plopped Ciaran on the counter next to the muffin. As she picked the muffin up and broke a piece off, Ciaran cheered up, and by the time he had finished the first bite, his tears had gone without a trace. Inside, he was giggling, already thinking of ways to further use his utter cuteness to his own advantage.
