SHOP RULES
1. DO NOT, under any circumstances, STEAL OR EDIT cheshire's art, j A d e d's art, or the art of any guest artist: cheshire and j A d e d have worked hard on the images and coloring. Many people do not realize the effort it takes to produce such high quality work. If you steal the art, not only will the shop lose it's purpose, but you will be banned for art theft and reported to the site admins.
2. One Legend per guardian: You shape your own Legend and create it yourself. If you have two, the chances are high that you may neglect one. There is a lot of responsibility in caring for a Legend, plus we want everyone to have a chance at a legend. However there might be rare exceptions to the rule -- but those are only in place for auctions or other rare exceptions. In most cases people can only have one Legend and it will stay that way. Even if you take up guardianship of a Legend for a previous owner it still means you have one Legend and that Legend is now yours -- you can't have another one.
3. Do not PM or send a trade to cheshire or j A d e d: Just like a lot of shops, we co-own this one. There should be no reason to PM cheshire or j A d e d. If you have any questions and are in need of contacting someone from this shop, please PM the shop account, jacknblack ONLY. If we find out that you're PMing either of our artists we will reprimand you. This also goes to say that if we find out your going behind the staff's back and directly PMing the artist to bribe them for a Legend, we will be seriously displeased. Any and all matters dealing with the shop should be taken up with the shop account -- not the artists. It's rude to do otherwise and unacceptable.
4. Be respectful to everyone!: Everyone is dedicated to their Legend, so disrespecting a guardian would not put you on good terms with us at the Headquarters. On top of that, rudeness towards others, whether they are guardian or stalkers, will not be tolerated and will earn you a spot on the blacklist.
5. Co-owning is not allowed: It doesn't make sense to have two owners attempt to keep a Legend's journal and roleplay up to the same par as others with single guardianship. If a Legend is not being properly cared for, we will give the guardian a warning of the risk they're running by neglecting the attention a Legend needs. Hiatus should be expressed in the thread and have a legitimate excuse outlining your absence. If you are planning on leaving Gaia, you have the choice of appointing a close friend, someone with whom you can trust your character with, to take over the duties as guardian. Otherwise, we will step in and find the best possible guardian we can.
6. Under NO circumstances will a preowned Legend be sold by their guardian!: You made a commitment with the shop to care for your child. If you feel that you cannot take care of your Legend, then we will discuss options in private. Selling your Legend is prohibited and absolutely out of the question.
7. RolePlaying is required: You will be required to post in your journal at least once a month. This is not a hard task - turn on your computer, sit down for half an hour once a week and write an entry. Simple. If you absolutely cannot find the time, we suggest passing along guardianship or talking to us about the other option.
8. Put your Legend's journal to good use: How else can we find out the vital information and daily ongoings in your Legend's life? It is wise to document, also, roleplay you have done, whether in the thread or elsewhere. We try to read absolutely everything, and this comes in handy when quest time rolls around.
9. Legends cannot be passed along more than twice: Seriously, this is even stretching it. We have had a trend where the Legends who have been passed to a different guardian are passed along more often. If the final, third guardian cannot take care of the Legend any further, the Legend becomes a NPC owned by the shop.
10. Never ask for us to sell/give you one: You can acquire a Legend through flatsale, flaffle, raffle, contest, auction, breeding, or pet trade. We will not just hand them out for no reason.
11. Refrain from PM'ing Legend Guardians: Yes, they have a Legend. If you have a question regarding the Legends, ask us at this thread. Please do not bother our guardians. If we hear anything about a person annoying them, you will be blacklisted.
12. We are allowed to keep secrets!: We run the shop, therefore we are allowed to keep our mouths shut about future planned events, plots, and other such secretive things.
13. If you dare threaten us, we'll threaten you back: We're not going to be trampled all over. We'd greatly appreciate it if you refrain from any threats. Threaten us to take a pet back, we'll do the exact same. Actually, threaten us, and we'll take your Legend away. We are NOT a doormat to be walked all over. We are a respectible breedables shop in which won't tolerate anything.
14. If you have a problem with the way this shop is run, then leave: We are tired of people trying to tell us how to run the shop. We do things a certain way for a purpose, therefore your input might not be needed. Feedback is always good and helpful to notice things we've done wrong, but constant nagging and suggestions for doing things that would benefit you are NOT appreciated.
15. Please don't PM jacknblack: Seriously, I've said it before and I'll say it again, PMing spams inboxes. And you know what? Our inbox can't afford to be stuffed to a hundred percent. We have custom forms, we have plot lines, we have seceret stuff that can't be thrown away if its overflowed, so please. Don't. PM. Us. ( There ARE special occasions when you can -- such as ones stated in the rules where it says to PM us. )
16. We have the right to change these rules however we please: Meaning, if we missed something here, we can easily modify or add to our leisure.
16. READ THE ENTIRE FRONT PAGE!!: We say this becuase we get stupid PMs about things that are on the front page, then those people get blacklisted for being so ignorant. It's okay if you post a question, but PMing floods our inbox.
MOAR RULES

2. Try to RP with a variety of people: Sure, your Legend doesn't have to like everyone. But does that mean that they have only one friend? Give them variety! Sometimes, a little tension here or there is a good change. Although we cannot enforce this rule actively, it is just disappointing if you didn't embrace new opportunities.
3. NO POSTS = NO GROWTH: We will be taking away any legends that are not roleplayed, and we will not be hounding owners to post in their journals. If you do not post then your Legend will not grow. It's simple and easy.
4. If you are creating a character to look after your legend, let us know: We don't have the time to read your journals, make a summary of the person, change the cert (your name will be in parenthasis), and all that jazz. If it's a babysitter, we'll understand. If it's an owner, we also understand and will change the certs. When we read the journals, we get confused sometimes.
5. We have the right to suspend/take away your journal: We are rightfully able to take your journal and legend away. If you don't abide by these rules, we have 200% rights with a mod. But, we won't get that far; or we hope not anyway.
6. We love plots!: Duh. We love them. Keeps us in suspense! Tiny plots, like two posts, or a huge plot, like two pages, we love them all!! Keep 'em cranking! This really isn't a rule, just a reminder that plots are a great thing to persuade us to have your legend grow!
7. Quests are given out in due time, but we have the right to deny you a quest: There are no specific guildelines or requirements set for a quest to be handed out. However, if any Legend does not reach an established roleplayed realistic growth, for the stage they are at, they will not receive a quest and will not grow. The Legend, depending on the stage, has to be developed properly and roleplayed accordingly. Activity is also preferred to show that the guardian is indeed active with the Legend. This includes posting in the thread, their journals, and RPing via the thread, guild, journal, or AIM ( which would mean recording the RP in the Legend's diary in some cases ). Also do not forget to make a few 'Dear Diary' type entries from the guardian. In the baby stage, in the very least, they are important. Remember that it's the entries and information in a journal that help the staff decide a quest for the Legend! No entries, no information, no development, no quest!
If you have any questions about this, or quests, PM jacknblack. Pestering or otherwise for a quest isn't likely to make the staff want to give you one.
8. If you don't have the time to make a journal entry, you may buy your legend to be a non-RP Legend: It's a lot of information. XD The price range varies. The price depends on how much detail you will have to be drawn. We, as a whole shop, has decided that anywhere from 100k to 300k would be fair. If you can't spare ten minutes a day and post an entry, we can't spare you gold! XD We kid. But seriously. It's only fair for those who DO RP and have to wait until your NON-RP legend to be drawn.
OOC RULES
1. When you're in OOC (Out Of Character) Either use Double Parenthasees (( )) or Brackets [ ]: This way, we can tell if you're out of character or not. This is also politeness. If you're in the middle of a conversation in the thread and there's an RP, having someone say, "HEY XAR!" isn't right. It technically made you IC, so the RP has to stop, and then we have to explain to you to read the rules once again, and then start the RP back up. It's very tedious.
2. No Putdowns: I know this is very kindergartenish, but its so damn true. Put a stalker/owner/artist/anyone down, you are NEVER getting a Legend. I'll be sure to spread the word around too. Sheesh, I know I'm being very irrational, but it is so wrong to yell at someone for a coincidence/the way you don't like something. Tough luck, read number 13 in the Shop Rules. Then think about what you're going to post. Gaia is a lot easier to think before you say, you have to type, then click post, and edit. We watch what you edit.
3. No Chatspeak: Chattalk to anyone and you shall burn in the firey pits of our fireplaces. This is a formal thread. We understand if you're making fun, but if you come in here, and we don't know you, and you start, "OFMG 111!!!!! 1'// 20000000000 1337. ph334!!!!eleven!1111!" You shall be grey listed, PMed this rule and get a nice explanation why we won't take you off the grey list untill you realize your mistake.
4. Try not to bug the owners: XD Our inboxes are already spammed from eachother PMing eachother with problems, we don't need thirty million other PMs. If you see us in the thread; don't you dare jump down our throats and start asking us the thirty million questions that you wanted to send in thirty million PMs.
5. A shop administrator is almost on every time of the day: Let it be QS, Wren, Xaria, cheshire or an owner, so you can relax if you have a problem. Worst comes to worst, PM the shop account or one of the co-owners. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
