DO NOT DONATE TO ME FOR THIS QUEST.
It is not needed, since there will be no more oppurtunities to win an auction for a fa'e. Only way to get one now is by becoming the guardian of two of the existing fa'e's child. 3nodding For which no gold is needed xD All donations can go to my other quest for a chimuian custom ^^ Link in my sig, described as "Begging Thread" >__>

"If you wish to live and thrive, let the spider run alive"

This is the thread for my quest for a drider Fa'e, made by Anya! XD. Why quest for a Fa'e? Because since I first started Gaia, I stumbled into the Breedables forum and the first shop I looked at was the Fa'e, and I immediatly fell in love. Ever since then I've always wanted a Fa'e, but I never really though about doing anything to try and get one till recently. I would be lying if I said I wasn't unhappy about there not being anymore gen. 1 Fa'e, but Anya!'s got alot of work on her shoulders already, and I think she's done great putting up with it all. ^__^ So I'm still hoping I can get Reltharri, my dream Fa'e, exactly as I imagine or, or as a second gen. Fa'e. biggrin (I know I'm also being hopelessly optimistic ^__^ But oh well! xD) Anything you can give will help, whether it's bumping the thread, money, or items to sell. biggrin Please help me out with whatever you can! heart You can find the Fa'e here: Fa'e HQ

Name: Nikomas Torren
Nicknames: Nik, Niko
Gender: Female
Age: She looks to be around 16 or 17, though is chronologically in her mid-late 20s
Race: Banished/Fallen Angel, Half-Sun elf/Half-Human
Abilities: Niko is capable of flying, as well as minor magick through humming/singing and dancing. She makes charms and, rarely, potions, and has a sort of "6th Sense," though it's more like heat vision; although she's blind, it enables her to see the heat levels and shapes of objects, though she can't see the color of an object, only reds/yellows for warmth, like a heat scanner.
Likes: Dancing, singing, her children, snakes, nagas, the sun, warmth, stars
Dislikes: Cold, quiet, bugs(Spiders not counted), the moon, cities, drow/dark elves
Sexuality: Straight
Status: Single
Personality: Niko is pretty cheerful, and very friendly. She has a very biased few of good and bad, and absolutely hates drow/dark elves, because they killed her family and blinded her. She can tolerate them to a degree, but don't get hopeful. Niko is very loving, and greatly cares for her family, as well as her sort of totem, the Sun. She is annoyingly honest sometimes, but she has a good heart, and is also somewhat naive.
Appearance: She is about 5'4, with creamy-pale skin and bright, firey orange hair with faint golden streaks that, and it is very wavy and hangs to about her shoulders(The length tends to change constantly). Her angular face is quite lovely, and she has a scar running across her eyes, which are both a milky white-blue, with white iruses, stating her blindness, though they are usually covered by a dark gray kercheif that's wrapped around her head to cover her eyes, which is made of a heavy fabric. From her shoulders sprout two large, snowy white wings, that have the markings of a snowy owl, the feathers tipped black with black bars running up them. She has gently pointed ears, and her left arm, from a few inches below her shoulder to her finger tips, is covered with writhing vines, like a magick tatoo, that twist and dance on her skin without coming up from it like it would if actually wrapped with vines.
History: Born 26 years ago on the world Oasis, Nikomas lived in a small village by the name of Valeria with her mother, father, 3 brothers and 6 sisters. She lived happily for years, but then war broke out between Valeria and a neighboring country called Bennika, and thousands of mercenaries, cut-throats, and bandits invaded her home-town, who killed her mother, father, two of her brothers and 4 of her sisters, as well as Niko, but not before having blinded her with their daggers. But when Niko died, she didnt disappear to where ever ghosts go like her brothers, sisters, mother and father probably did, she was made into an Angel. She sent, received, and transfered all sorts of messages for the Gods, as well as other Angels with ranks higher then hers. She continued her job as an Angelic Messenger for close to 10 years, until one day she got into a very large arguement with a very high ranked Arch Angel, which resulted in her being hurled from Heaven to the nearest planet other then her home-world, Oasis. Her landing caused a large crater to form when she fell, ruining a nearby farmer's field. The farmer found her there when he went out looking for his missing animals, and he helped her to his home, where he helped her get back to full health. After a few months of living with the old farmer, Niko, fully restored, gave her thanks and left, looking for some place to stay where she wont be judged due to her Fallen Angelic status. She found haven in the country of Gaia, the place where she had been thrown, and currently has a house in Barton Town where she lives with her kids.

Name: Reltharri Spiderborn
Meaning: Reltharri means "Storyteller" in Niko's language
Gender: Female or male, doesn't matter
Race: Fa'e, drider/dark elf
Personality: Rel is a dependable person; if you trust s/he with a task, s/he will make sure it gets done. But Rel is so determined, that s/he'll ignore the possible pain s/he may put other people through. Very focused, s/he'll do whatever it takes to finish something, even if it sometimes requires giving up someone else whether or not that person agrees. Relatively friendly, Rel doesn't love anyone, but s/he does like to have friends, though s/he doesn't often tell the truth. S/he is always making up stories; Rel never says the same thing twice, so s/he is generally caught at it, but Rel generally just shrugs it off.
Sexuality: Will change depending on who/how she RPs with/is RPed
Magical Abilities: Rel can tell a lie convincingly enough to be believed for a while, but the lie eventually fades into facts. S/he can see in the dark, weave spiderwebs from her/his fingers, and can 'spin' illusions with spiderwebs in the shape of a cat's cradle between her/his fingers; the illusions have all but one of the senses, sight, smell, hearing, and taste. If s/he lays an illusion over an object, s/he can change the way it feels/tastes/smells, but if s/he weaves an illusion in empty air, it loses taste, but retains smell, hearing, and sight. S/he does not have to be conscious for the illusion to stay, as long as s/he is thinking straight when s/he weaves the "cat's cradle" to spin the illusion. Rel has very strong arms, as well, and is capable of spinning very strong rope out of her webs.
Appearance: Rel is roughly 4'10, not very tall at all. Whether s/he looks like a dark elf or a drider is fully up to Anya!, but it doesn't matter overly much. Rel has four arms, and her/his skin is a dusky, warm golden-brown, and her arms from the elbow down are a dark, dark brown, almost black. S/he has dark black hair that is in tight curls and hangs to around her chin. S/he has a black slash mark running across her nose and cheeks, as well as two more coming up from under her jaw to each cheek. S/he has five eyes, and they are either black or yellow, with her/his bottom left eye being white from an accident Anansi had in his past life. S/he has long pointed ears(Think of the Redha from Ys:Ark of Napishtim, minus the tails) From the waist down is optional; Rel has either the body of a large spider, or two human legs. If it is a spider, the coloring is entirely up to Anya!, but no cool colors; blacks, browns, reds, yellows, and oranges. No blues, no whites. It will be the body build of a tarantula, any will do. Furry, large abdomen, and long, furry legs. If s/he has human legs, they are the same warm brown color as her face, with strong calves from physical activity.
Most Important Features: 1. Five eyes 2. Four arms 3. African in appearance
Clothing: Brightly colored fabric, kente cloth, with a long reim of fabric that wraps around her torso and over her left arms, as well as another reim of fabric that wraps simply about her waist, ending a few inches just above her ankles. Geometric/african patterns on the cloth, in warm colors; absolutely no blues, whites, or purples, no cool colors. Everything's a riot of warm shades. Very little jewelry, what there is is made out of wood or worn looking gold.
Pictures: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
(Note: For the art, it's all the art I've gotten of Rel since I first started this quest, and my idea of her has made a number of changes. The picture above is the one I've settled on, though, for her human half at least.)

Shortened Version

Kwaku Anansi is the First Spider of Africa, the spider-god, a spider who sometimes seemed like a wise man, others like a mischievious spider, who could spin such tales and stories, and a person couldn't help but believe him, whether or not they were true. Back, many many years ago in Africa, there had been no stories at all for the people to tell. The stories were all kept and hidden away from the people by the Sky-God, Nyame, who demanded a heavy price for people who wanted to get the stories, which no one had been able to pay.

Finally, Anansi went to the Sky-God, asking for the stories to bring down from the clouds and to Africa. "My stories have a great price, four fearsome, elusive creatures: Onini, the python that swallows men whole; Osebo, the leopard with teeth like spears; Mmoboro, the hornets that swarm and sting; and Mmoatia, the fairy who is never seen. Bring these to me."

Anansi climbed down the clouds, going back to his wife Aso, and telling her what the god said. Aso gave him advice, and using his wife's advice every time, he captured the python, the leopord, the hornets, and the fairy, bringing all of them to Nyame. Seeing this, Nyame gave his Sky-God stories to Anansi, saying to all in Africa: "This spider, Kwaku Anansi, has done what no one else could, and so these stories shall be called 'Spider Stories' from now on."

After that, Anansi lived happily with his wise wife, but people started to mock and disbelieve his stories, and Anansi became a hermit from people often chasing him when he came into villages, for the want of not hearing his tales. Soon afterwards, the wise old spider became a hermit, speaking with whoever wandered by his cavern, Aso lurking in back to keep the cave clean. Slowly, Anansi stopped listening to Aso's wise advice, soon refusing to leave the cave for anything, not even to go out in the bright sunlight he used to love. With Aso as his only company, he got irritable quickly, before he started disliking the female gender, since his only contact was with Aso.

Soon his temper got even more foul, so fiery to a point that Aso felt she had no choice but to leave him. So she seretly packed up her things, leaving in the night so Anansi wouldn't see. She went to the other gods, to Nyame who gave him the stories, and asked him to put a curse on her formerly loving husband, Anansi. The sky-god relented in the face of Aso's sheer feeling of betrayel and hate. The curse put on Anansi made his body sick and weak, causing him to die in a few weeks. The curse didn't stop there, though, it brought him back, reborn, as the thing that he had eventually hated, a young girl...

Long Version

It was long ago in Africa, child, when there was First Spider, Kwaku Anansi, the spider-god.. He went everywhere, throughout the world, travelling on his strong web strings - sometimes looking more like a wise old man than a spider. He could spin such fine tales and stories, a person couldn't help but believe them, whether they were true or not.
In that long-ago time, there were no stories on Earth for anyone to tell. The sky-god kept all stories to himself, up high in the sky, and locked away in a wooden box.
These the spider wanted, as many creatures had before him, so that he could know the beginnings and endings of things. Yet all who had tried for the stories had returned empty-handed.
Now Anansi climbed up his web to the sky-god, Nyame, to ask for the sky-god's stories.
Child, when the powerful sky-god saw the thin, spidery, old man crawling up to his throne, he laughed at him, "What makes you think that you, of all creatures, can pay the price I ask for my stories?"
Spider only wanted to know, "What is the price of the stories?"
"My stories have a great price, four fearsome, elusive creatures: Onini, the python that swallows men whole; Osebo, the leopard with teeth like spears; Mmoboro, the hornets that swarm and sting; and Mmoatia, the fairy who is never seen. Bring these to me."
Bowing, the spider quietly turned and crept back down through the clouds. He ment to capture the four creatures he needed as price for the stories. He first asked his wife, Aso, how he might capture Onini, the python that swallows men whole.
She told him a plan, saying, "Go and cut off a branch of the palm tree and cut some string-creeper as well. Take these to the stream where python lives."
As Anansi went to the swampy stream, carrying these things, he began arguing aloud, "This is longer than he; You lie, no; it Is true; this branch is longer and he is shorter, much shorter."
The python was listening, and asked what spider was talking about, "What are you muttering, Anansi?"
"I tell you that my wife, Aso, is a liar, for she says that you are longer than this palm branch and I say that you are not."
Onini, the python, said, "Come and place the branch next to me and we will see if she is a liar."
And so, Anansi put the palm branch next to the python's body, and saw the large snake stretch himself alongside it. Ananasi then bound the python to the branch with the string-creeper and wound it over and over - nwenene! nwenene! nwenene! - until he came to the head. Then the spiderman said to Onini, "Fool, I will now take you to the sky-god."
This Anansi did as he spun a web around the snake to carry him back through the clouds to the sky kingdom.
On seeing the gigantic snake, Nyame merely said, "There remains what still remains."
Spider came back to Earth to find the next creature, Osebo the leopard, with teeth like spears.
His wife, Aso, told him, "Go dig a large hole."
Anansi said, "I understand, say no more."
After following the tracks of the leopard, spider dug a very deep pit. He covered it over with the branches of the trees and came home. Returning in the very early morning, he found a large leopard lying in the pit.
"Leopard, is this how you act? You should not be prowling around at night; look at where you are! Now put your paw here, and here, and I will help you out."
The leopard put his paws up on the sticks that Anansi placed over the pit and began to climb up. Quickly, Anansi hit him over the head with a wooden knife - gao! Leopard fell back into the pit - fom! Anansi quickly spun the leopard to the sticks with his web string.
"Fool, I am taking you to pay for the sky-god's stories."
But the sky-god recieved the leopard saying, "What remains, still remains."
Next the spiderman went looking for Mmoboro, the hornets that swarm and sting.
Spider told his wife, Aso, what he was looking for and she said, "Look for an empty gourd and fill it with water."
This spider did and he went walking through the bush until he saw a swarm of hornets hanging there in a tree. He poured out some of the water and sprinkled it all over their nest. Cutting a leaf from a nearby banana tree, he held it up and covered his head. He then poured the rest of the water from the gourd all over himself. Then while he was dripping he called out to the hornets,
"The rain has come, do you see me standing here with a leaf to cover my head? Fly inside my empty gourd so that the rain will not beat at your wings."
The hornets flew into the gourd, saying, "Thank you - hhhuuummm - Aku; thank you - hhhuuummm - Anansi."
Anansi stopped up the mouth of the gourd, and spinning a thick web around it, said, "Fools, I'm taking you to the sky-god as price for his stories."
The sky-god, Nyame, accepted Mmoboro, the hornets that swarm and sting, and said, "What remains, still remains."
Anansi knew very well what remained - it was the fairy, Mmoatia, who is never seen. When the spider came back to Earth, he asked Aso what to do. And so, he carved an Akua's child, a wooden doll with a black, flat face, and covered it with sticky fluid from a tree.
Walking through the bush, he found the odum tree, where the fairies like to play. He then made eto, pounded yams, and put some in the doll's hand and even more of the yams into a brass basin at her feet - there by the odum tree. Anansi next hid in the bushes, with a vine creeper in his hands that was also tied to the doll's neck.
It wasn't long before the fairies came, two sisters, to play. They saw the doll with the eto and asked if they could have some. Anansi made the doll's head nod, "Yes", by pulling on the string-creeper. Soon the faries had eaten all the eto and so, thanked the doll, but the doll did not reply. The fairies became angry.
One sister said, "When I thank her, she says nothing."
The other sister replied, "Then slap her in her crying place."
This the fairy did, she slapped it's cheek - "pa!" - but her hand stuck there. She slapped it with her other hand - "pa!" - and that hand stuck, too. She kicked it with both one foot, then the other, and both feet stuck to the sticky wooden doll. Finally, she pushed her stomache to it and that stuck.
Then Anansi came from his hiding place, and said, "Fool, I have got you, and now I will take you to the sky-god to buy his stories once and for all."
Anansi spun a web around the last of the four creatures and brought Mmoatia up to Nyame in the sky kingdom. The sky-god, seeing this last catch, called together all his nobles. He put it before them and told them that the spider-man had done what no-one else had been able to do. He said in a loud voice that rang in the sky,
"From now and forever, my sky-god stories belong to you - kose! kose! kose! - my blessing, my blessing, my blessing. We will now call these "Spider Stories"."
And so, child, stories came to Earth because of the great cunning of Kwaku Anansi, and his wife, Aso. When Anansi brought the wooden box of stories to his home, he and his wife eagerly learned each one of them.
After that, Anansi lived happily with his wise wife, but people started to mock and disbelieve his stories, and Anansi became a hermit from people often chasing him and throwing stones at him when he came into villages, none wishing to hear his tales anymore for a reason none would explain to the old spider..

Subplot

Reltharri needs to go on her quest for the spider-stories again, bringing back the substitutes for Onini, Osebo, Mmoboro and Mmoatia as she grows older, who were all also reborn, though no one has any idea as what.

I've always had a fascination for spiders and other half-breeds like me, whether they be half-elves or something that doesn't even have a name. I just enjoy talking to them, learning of their experiences, plus the fact that there are just so many half-breeds out there, and pretty soon I can't help but think that we'll maybe overrun the purebloods. Wouldn't that be an idea! Ha ha, anyways, I?ve been speaking with some older, African centaurs, these two being a mix of zebra and human and a lion and an elf(Don't ask me how they came about, not sure I want to know), and they were teaching me about all their legends and beliefs, and they mentioned they had a strong belief and legend about a tricky and mischievous spider named Anansi. Thinking about what the zebra- and lion-taur told me, I went to sleep fitfully that night...

I was walking through a damp and cold stone corridor. The walls were made of large slabs of a sort of shiny-blackish red stone. Blood-stone maybe? Shivering and rubbing my arms to get warmer, I folded my wings slowly around my shoulders like a feathered cloak, so now I was for the most part covered, but I still didn't warm up. Shaking my head, I quickened my pace down the stone hallway, stepping over and around the spider webs and little spiders that are all over the walls and floor as a large shadow passes behind me. Looking back, I didn't see anything, but then I felt eyes behind me, watching me, so I continued forward to a large, domed room, with a glass ceiling, the glass stained red and white, like new blood on snow... Shaking my head to clear that image away, I looked around, and in front of me there was a tall stone altar, made out of more of the blackish stone, glinting a blood red in the faint light coming through the tinted windows. Walking warily up, I noticed a large, ruby red cross hanging down from the ceiling, hanging a few inches above the altar, with a large white right floating around it, neither of them suspended by anything, just floating above the altar in the air. Getting the shivers even through my feathers, I walked up to the altar, again feeling someone's eyes on me, watching my every move, and saw an inscription painted on a long piece of white cloth draped over the altar. "When the world was new, one stood tall and fought for the people. They praised him, but then cut him down. The trickster is destined to be reborn, to be given another chance." I read it aloud, and once I said the last word, the dungeon started rumbling. I lost my balance on the steps going to the altar, and I fell backwards, falling head first to the blood-stone tiled floor. I hit the cold floor hard, wincing as my elbow bent backwards, when suddenly something dark loomed over me, just an inch or two from my face. Looking down at me was a huge, black and grayish yellow spider. He(I got a feeling of strong masculinity from the spider) held me under my wings with one of his front legs, before standing me up again. In the faint light, I could see he was a mottled, grayish yolk-yellow sort of color, with crazy black stripes and markings all over him, like a tarantula I saw once(I think it's called trinidad chev-somethin'). He had 8 eyes, all but one of them a shiny onyx black, and the last was a pure, innocent snow white. I nervously bowed to him, not wanting to see how sharp his fangs were. "Uhhmm..." I said, and the spider curled his legs under him, still watching me, and I realized the shadow in the hall, and the eyes on my back, had been him. 'Would you give me the second chance?' A voice suddenly chimed in my mind, an irritated, angry tone to it, as if despising something about me. I looked around, before looking at the large spider again. 'Would you give me a second chance to set things right, and to live again?' Again the question, and I'm positive the spider was asking me. I hesitated a moment, before nodding. "Yes, I will give you a second chance..." I answer as everything fades to darkness...

As I sat up slowly in my bed, trying to remember the details of the dream, I rubbed a knuckle in my eye to try and wake up fully, when I felt the end of my bed dipping down slightly in a way it hadn't when I went to sleep. Looking down, I saw a small grayish yellow and black lump move, and looking at me was a pair of five small, feminine eyes, all a deep onyx black except for one, an innocent snow white one...
