Long ago when the earth was new, there was no neutral alignment. Everything on the earth, from the smallest pebble to the tallest oak, was either good or evil. Those choosing the side of light were beautiful beings, full of life and good will. But those who rebelled against good journeyed down the path of darkness, where their choice lay set it stone for the rest of their lives.

Most spirits were restless at this time, and two were the most vicious in bickering. First, there was the light spirit, Rao'tsu. She traveled through nature's beauty, caressing the trees and dancing among the clouds. Her form was a white mist in the shape of a woman. She wore long robes and had eyes as green as new leaves. She had all of her creatures aligned in light. That was before her twin, Seburo, betrayed her.

Seburo, the spirit of darkness, was also good at a time. But his younger sister Rao'tsu was more powerful than he, and jealousy brewed inside him. Eventually it was too much for him to bear, and the jealousy morphed into darkness which consumed him. He loved this new power, and rose up to create the element of evil. His new form was black smoke in the shape of a large man in long, blood-colored robes. Unfortunately, other creatures followed his lead, making his power even stronger. Seburo and Rao'tsu began a war that would not end for centuries.

One day a young woman was wandering the hills, where the two spirits were debating over which element would eventually prevail. She was strangely not aligned, having no truthful leader to worship. Those already in alignment have an aura around them. Those in good have a white aura, those in evil have black. This girl had no aura at all. Seeing the two spirits, the girl sat down in, frozen in awe, to watch the event, wondering which would conquer over the other.

After much bickering between the two, Rao'tsu finally noticed the girl. She made a deal with Seburo. Whomever could persuade the girl to their side would be the more powerful, and she would be the deciding factor.

Now, neither one of the siblings wanted to lose, so they put all of their effort in trying to obtain the girl. The poor thing had no idea what was going on, really, so she simply listened and leaned toward no side. After awhile, Seburo became frustrated, and he grabbed the girl. Rao'tsu, seeing this, was appalled. She would not be loosing this battle, so she as well took hold of the maiden. Seburo began to pull frantically, as did Rao?tsu. They glared at each other, taking no notice of the girl at all. Suddenly, the spirits gasped, backing away and dropping the young woman. She began to glow, her right half bright white, and her left half, wispy black.

Staring at her body in shock, the girl gulped down her fears, watching her body separate into two beings. When all was done, there were now two of the girl, looking exactly alike, yet somewhat different as well. The one nearest Seburo was like him; dark and shadowed in every aspect. The soul on Rao'tsu's side was light and pure, and more beautiful than the other. Te'oma was the name of the maiden, and she was the beginning of all Aduthule.
