You see, part of the plans for the shop involves getting lineart for several NEW species aside from Avens ninja But for that ... we need funds!

- ATTENTION! You may have noticed the new lineart that Manda has been working on! This lineart is being done in connection with, yes, a complete overhaul of the Aven shop. There will be lots and lots of changes coming as we work so keep an eye out!!! Growings and so forth will still happen, but be aware that they may be slower and there will not be any new sales until more of the changes to the shop have taken effect.

Long ago, there was a planet, a world called Kan Te'in. This world was in a different dimension and galaxy than our own. The world had three moons, and most of the surface of the planet was covered with primeval forest. Huge trees, towering toward the sky, creating an area of deep green shadows below.

Two main species evolved on this planet. There were the Hai-ri Shyka, deer-like creatures with feathered wings. They were peaceful and wished only to live in the forest and be able to build their homes (either thickets or nests) without being molested. The Aventebach, however, were not peaceful. They were large cats, looking somewhere like the Pumas of Earth, but slightly more slender and built for climbing trees ... and for flying. For they, too, had wings. Their wings were demon-like, earing them the nickname "Demon Cats".

The Aventebach hunted the Hai-ri Shyka mercilessly. They killed for food, but also just for fun. It was a kind of sport for them, because even though the Hai-ri Shyka looked defenseless, over time they developed powerful magic to ward against the Aventebach attacks.

Some time ago, however, the Hai-ri Shyka all disappeared from the world of Kan Te'in without warning, robbing the Aventebach of their main source of food and entertainment. No one knows where they have gone or how they left...

2 - Be nice when posting and don't harass me. I actually have a real life (plus I own/co-own and color for two more shops and have several guilds on here) and sometimes it may take me a little while to reply to something you post. But rest assured, I WILL reply ^^.

3 - All trades should be sent to this mule, Nashorme. The only exception to this is if I (Manda) tell you otherwise.

Q - How much do these cost?
A - Please see the post on Sales. All prices are listed there.

Q - Can I own more than one Aven?
A - Sure ^^. Buy as many as you like! But you may only buy ONE per flatsale.

Q - Cool! Is there a mailing list for these, so I don't have to check the thread as often?
A - Yes, there is a mailing list (see the first post), but it would be nice if you dropped by the thread now and then ^^. Everyone, and especially owners, is encouraged to come by the thread and just generally hang out.

Q - Are these evil?
A - They're kind of supposed to be, yes. They were created to be the natural enemies and hunters of the Fairy Fawns (from another shop Manda owns).

Q - I want to RP with my Aven! Is there an official RP?
A - Yes! There's a link in the RPG Post ^^

Q - Will my Aven grow faster if I RP with it?
A - Possibly... ninja

Q - How fast DO they grow?
A - That depends on several things. One factor is how fast the colorist can get the other stages done.

Q - Am I required to RP with my Aven?
A - No, it's not required. RP is, however, encouraged.

Q - Will my Aven not grow if I don't RP with it?
A - Your Aven will still grow if you don't RP. However, Avens that ARE in the RP might grow faster ^^

Q - Do I have to keep this pet in my sig at all times? Or would a journal entry displaying it work when it isn't in my sig?
A - As long as you do display the pet somewhere, it doesn't matter where ^^. This could be your sig, a journal, a website, whatever.

Q - How will I be know when my Aven grows to the next stage? (ie, will I have to watch the thread for an update or would someone pm me, etc.)
A - Avens that are still growing should be direct-linked. This means that I will give you the code to put in your sig or wherever. When your Aven grows, the picture will automatically change eek Recent growings will also be posted in the Pickup section.

Q - DUDE you have items now!!! How much are they?! Can I get some??!!
A - Yes, see the Sales post.

Q - OMG jewelry too!! Can both males and females wear it? How much does THAT cost?
A - Yes, males AND females may wear jewelry. Again, see the Sales post.

Q - Ok, I bought jewelry, why isn't my Aven wearing it yet? stare
A - It could be because your Aven has not yet reached adult stage. Only adults may actually wear jewelry, until then, it will be in your items slot. If your Aven is already an adult, be patient. Soon enough, I will add the jewelry and then you should check the Pickups post so you can resave your Aven.

Q - It's not in my inventory either scream
A - Again, be patient. It may sometimes take me a little while to make your jewelry ... it won't be an instant thing.

Q - Can I add something to the FAQ?
A - Sure, just ask the question and if I think it should be added, I'll add it.

This is the "baby" stage. Your Aven has just been born. It cannot fly yet, or walk very well. For the first few days, it will be blind and helpless. After that, it will start to explore and learn about its world. Cubs will play-fight and start to learn how to hunt small insects and animals.

The Aven can now walk and even run fairly well. It will start learning to fly at this stage and begin to hunt larger and smarter prey. The Aven will also discover their Class at this stage and begin learning much more about their Skill.

*Adult Stage*

An adult Aven can hunt from the treetops or on the ground. It can fly, climb, walk, and run. It will also be able to fully use its Skill and breed with other Avens. Some Avens will switch Packs at this stage if they wish to. Avens whose Class requires them to leave their Pack (such as Heralds) will also do so at this stage.

Danger Sense - As implied, this allows an Aven to sense danger from afar and in the near future. This Skill is very useful for Scouts, Defenders, and Hunters, though sometimes Mothers and Fathers can have it as well. Alphas and Betas can also sense danger at times.

Prey Sense - This Skill is similar to Dange Sense, but allows the Aven to specifically sense things which could be prey. Hunters alone usually have this Skill, though others can have it.

Farspeak - These Avens can speak to others with their minds. This usually works best when both Avens have the Skill, though some Farspeakers are strong enough that any other Avens in range can hear them. Scouts, Heralds, Gossips, Runners, and sometimes Alphas and Betas could have this Skill.

Farsight - This allows a Aven to look out farther than they would normally be able to with their own eyes. However, a Farseer usually must be in a trance to use this Skill. Some Farseers can also use other Aven's eyes to watch. Most Runners and some Scouts have Farsight in some measure.

Futuresense - These Avens have a very special Skill, which is often a two-edged sword. This Skill allows the Aven to sense the future, sometimes even see it in those very strongly gifted. It's a bit like Danger Sense, but much more broad and far-reaching in time. Although this Skill can be very useful to the Avens, the Aven with the Skill is always affected by what they sense or see. Some even end up going crazy with the frequency and severity of their sensings and/or seeings.

Pastsense - This Skill allows an Aven to sense the past of things. The least gifted have to touch the thing, person, or place in question and often can't control the sense very well. Those with a stronger gift can invoke it as will, whether or not they are in physical contact ... though physical contact makes it easier. This is a useful Skill for Bards, who must record and remember history.

Empathy - An Aven with Empathy can feel the emotions and sometimes physical sensations of other Avens. Some strong Empaths can make other Avens (or enemies) feel what they want them to (such as calm or fear). Healers usually have some measure of Empathy, as do Mothers, Fathers, and Nurses. Defenders will sometimes have specific Emapthy which allows them to project feelings onto their enemies.

Heal - The Healing Skill is similar to Empathy, but it deals solely with physical sensations. It also allows the Aven with the Skill to sense what is wrong with another Aven and fix it. Healers alone usually posses this Skill. Though other Avens can have it, it's rare for this to happen.

Mindsense - This Skill allows a Aven to read another's thoughts, especially when touching the other Aven. Usually, Healers who specialize in mental Healing have this Skill. Some Teachers also have this Skill.

Memory - This Skill enhances a Aven's memory and sometimes allows it to access racial memory ... that is, the memories of ancestors. Scribes, Bards, and sometimes Teachers have this Skill.

Skysense - Skysense has to do with things of the sky. Skysensers can predict weather and winds and are usually very good flyers because of this. Most Scouts have some measure of this Skill.

Watersense - This Skill is similar to Skysense, but having to do with water. Avens with this Skill can sense if water is safe to drink and sometimes water will "talk" to them, especially running water, telling them of things it has seen on its course. Watersensers also work with Skysensers to predict weather.

Charm - Avens with this Skill can charm others into a relationship, whether permanent or temporary. Most Fickles and Studs have this Skill, as well as Mothers and Fathers.

Mindmove - A Mindmover can move things with its mind. All the Aven has to do is concentrate on what it wants to move and where it wants that thing to go in orther to move something. Avens with the Mindmover Skill are often Home-makers or Defenders.

Shield - Shield Skill allows a Aven to use itself as a shield for another and absorb the force of impact more easily. Avens with Shield Skill are usually Defenders, but Mothers, Fathers, Nurses, and Betas can also have this Skill.

Stamina - Avens with Stamina can last a lot longer than other Avens when running, flying, or fighting. Defenders, Scouts, Hunters, Heralds, and Gossips usually have some measure of this Skill.

Windcall - Windcallers can call Wind to help them, using it for everything from clearing out a messy area to knocking enemies over. Home-makers and Defenders usually have this Skill. Windcallers can also use their Skill to redirect dangerous storms.

Lightweave - Lightweavers control light ... weaker Lightweavers can light up a dark area, while the strongest can call lightning from the skies. Defenders usually have this Skill strongly, while Heralds, Gossips, and sometimes Hunters have weaker versions.

Waterspeak - Waterspeakers can convince water to do just about anything ... provided there is a source of water nearby. Defenders use this Skill in battle, while other Avens can use it to help Windcallers with controlling dangerous weather.

Iceshriek - Iceshrieker's powers are similar to Waterspeakers in many ways ... except they control only ice. Stronger Iceshriekers, however, do not have to have a body of water to work with. They can call ice from the air around them, though it is easier to use an available source of water and turn that to ice.

Firescream - Firescreamers can call fire to aid them whenever they need it. This is a usefull Skill for Defenders as well as Home-makers and Dancers.

Earthshift - Earthshifters can use their Skill to make the things of the Earth do their bidding. This includes everything from dirt and rocks to plants. Earthshifters can also help prevent earthquakes and convince plants to grow faster.

Stormcall - These Avens have the ability to call up storms at will, from a clear sky. The ability has different levels and limits, however. Only strongly gifted Avens can call really large storms, and all Stormcallers are limited by terrain. For example, they can't call up a snowstorm in a desert.

Illusion - An Illiusionist can create Illusions to teach, confuse, or entertain. Defenders can have this Skill, as can Teachers, Bards, Tale Spinners and Dancers.

This item can be used by your Aven to write things down they want to remember. It is especially useful for Scribes, Bards, and Tale Spinners.

*Jewelry*

You may now buy several different types of jewelry for your Aventebach. You may buy jewelry at any stage, however, it will ONLY be displayed when your pet is an adult. Until then, it will be in your items slot.

Note - If you already have an adult Aven and order jewelry, your Aven WILL appear in Pickups wearing the jewelry after you order it so you can resave it.

Cost - EACH piece of jewelry costs 50g. A pendant IS a seperate piece of jewelry, but earring sets are one piece. So, an earring set would still be 50g, but if you wish to add a pendant to a collar, bracelet, or ring, it would be 100g.

Do something nice to get on this list - i.e. bump a lot, stalk the thread (not in a creepy manner XD), etc. People on the While List may be able to get special discounts and other benefits.

*Gray List*
This is the list for people who have somehow managed to annoy me or piss me off for whatever reason. Gray Listers may only obtain Avens through flatsales or owner-sponsered auctions (as opposed to shop-sponsered). However, there is a chance for you. If you don't repeat whatever it was you did and be nice from then on, you may be able to get off the Gray List. If you continue to behave badly, you will be moved to the Black List.

*Black List*
Very rarely will I send someone straight to the Black List, usually you will go from Gray to Black. If you're on this list, you've managed to SERIOUSLY piss me off. Black Listers are banned from ever buying an Aven and any Avens they own will be taken away and removed from the RP.
