07/14/2005 - So I'm home, and feel up to it, so the flat sale will be today, July 14th starting at Noon EST. There will be three days to get entries in, so the ending will be Sunday, July 17 at Noon EST.

07/08/2005 - I feel like this shop doesn't have very much interest, but for the lurkers.. the flatsale will be delayed until next weekend. I had a vacation planned to leave tommorow, but because of the hurricane.. who knows when I'll leave. The raffle and the flatsale may be coincidal.

07/05/2005 - The flatsale might be next Wednesday, and if not, it'll be Thursday. It will still be 3 days long and the other sales will not be affected if it's delayed. Most of the funds from these first three sales will go towards opening a guild, for journals and etc.

07/04/2005 - Thread was created! Look for an upcoming flat sale, raffle and custom auction! The flatsale will begin Midnight EST, July 13th, and end at Noon EST, July 16th. The raffle will begin at noon EST, July 16th, and run until 6 PM EST, July 20th. The auction will begin 9 PM EST, July 20th, and run until 9 PM EST, July 27th. This auction will be a custom auction, with an autobuy of 250K.

The world is changing. The world is changed. More than any other creature upon this earth, man has changed it. He is a creature of innovation, ambition and condescension towards all not so clever as he. For this last characteristic, there have been tears.

Mother Who Waits looked down upon this earth and swept sad fingers over all that lay below her; everything is below her, for she is all that lies ahead. Man, so devilishly intelligent and self-posessed, had forgotten his fellows. There had been a time when man was part and parcel of the world, but now he claimed and took dominion over it.

She tried desperately to regain his attention and his heart, but to no avail. He did not listen to her whispers in the night, did not take heed of crinkling leaves of warning or rushing tides of caution. He had, in all his arrogant spark, forgotten how to her her.

To Mother Who Waits, it seemed as if there could be no answer now. In her mute sorrow she descended to this earth, taking the form of grasses, flowers, brooks and trees and calling gentle creatures to her for the remedy of her own pain.

The beasts of the wild approached with caution at first, then with great eagerness upon realizing who awaited them. They came to the plains of her appearance with gratitude and enthusiasm, all crowding to be nearest where they thought she might manifest true form--rather, a form like their own. Mother Who Waits has never known the body of a breathing life, however, all hopes to see her were in vain.

When the animals grew tired of waiting for her to appear, they settled for her presence and began to ask of her things. For, they reasoned, she must have come for a reason. Why not to grant the wishes of the untainted?

"Mother," the lion roared, "Man has taken our lands and will not return them! Drive him away!"

"Mother," buffalo rumbled, "Give us vengeance for all that has been taken! Our herds are gone, we 'protected' by man's laws. Return the world long gone!"

"Mother," dove cried, "Mother, my sisters have gone. Man used them for messages in his wars and now they have died. Bring them back!"

Mother Who Waits soon became weary of the pleas--had she not done all she could? These animals were almost as bad as man, though they at least acknowledged her existence. It was then that she noticed gentle zebra, sleeping beneath a tree far from the other beasts.

Zebra knew when she was close and he peeked up a knowing eye at her sightless form, "Zebra," she asked of him, the first word she had spoken since she descended, "Why do you not beg of me things? You have lost to men as well. What is your plight?"

The gentle zebra settled his head back down on his hooves delicately, "Mother, there is nothing I can ask of you, as long as you will be waiting for me in the end."

Mother Who Waits was taken by zebra's tender nature and she leaned down to promise him and extract a promise in return. From that moment forward, the clever trick of Mother Who Waits has lain in wait for man. In zebra she found a creature who could know language and heart, who could say what she could not. In the ways most easily understood by her strange, clever men she will attempt to guide them once more back to her ways. She gave them the ability to transcend into her world, the Plains of Jelani-Miembre, and also to transcend into the dreams of man.

For each zebra who dies, a totem is born. Men who carry these totems with them will find a companion to take them back to this earth. Mother Who Waits hopes for the best and still waits for her friend zebra, but does not expect him till his task is done.

1. There will be no whining or begging in the shop. That means no begging for a zebra.
2. Ask for permission before PMing Flora. All questions/comments will be directed towards the mule.
3. Only one totem per person. Co-owning will not be allowed. It's hard enough for the zebras to guard over one person.
4. If an owner becomes inactive for a period of two months without informing the staff, the zebra will leave the plains. Forever.

First Stage: Totem
These are totems from the Plains. Once they have recieved an owner who needs guardianship, or who has prayed on the totem for help, the totem will call on the Plains and a guardian will arrive. When it comes close to the time of a guardian, the totem will glow, "calling" on the guardian, and will glow in the colors of the guardian.

Second Stage: Foal
Once a guardian is manifested, the owner of the totem will be visited by it in their nightly dreams. They are not very wise in this stage, and could possibly lead their wards in the wrong direction. They will have to go through a quest in the Plains to move to the next stage.

Third Stage: Adolescent
Once the guardian has reached this stage, they will be able to visit their wards in not only nightly dreams, but also day dreams. They are wiser than their foal selves, and may explore the Plains further. A quest is needed for the next stage.

Final Stage: Adult
These guardians are the wisest that could be, always guiding their wards in the right direction. They can visit their wards at any moment, and even though they cannot physically see them if they are not dreaming, they will hear the guardian as a "conscience". Once they are in this stage, the guardian may gift their ward with a familiar.

Familiars:
Only owners of Adult Guardians may recieve Familiars, as suggested by the Guardian. Depending on the personality of the guardian, the species of familiar will be different. There are five. Meerkat, Lapwing, Caracal, Moss Frog and Nile Monitor Lizard. The familiars will be another guardian for the owner, being a physical guardian whereas the zebras are a spiritual guardian. They are mentally linked with the guardian zebra and the Plains.

A flatsale will begin at midnight EST, July 13th. Here are the totems for sale. (Not much to see, eh?)

Raffle previews to come soon.

Flatsales: All flatsale totems are 8K. Flatsales will be conducted in an RP entry format. One prompt will be given, and a total of three days will be given to complete the prompt. The prompt may be written in story, journal, or past-RP format. The entries will be judged, and the winners may choose their totems in the order they won. Only the gender of the guardian will be known.

Raffles: Raffle tickets are 150g each. Raffles will run for five days and at the close a winner will be picked from randomizer.org. Entrants have no choice of numbers, and they will be added as they are requested. Although a RP entry is not required, entrants should be aware that the Plains is a RP/Journal Pet.

Auctions: Auctions will have a starting bid of 8K, with a raise of 1K required. Autobuys will probably either be like 100K for a non-custom and 250K for a custom, although if I'm questing, I might be crazy and put the item. There will be an anti-snipe guard of 15 minutes after the last bid, and the auction will be closed to new bidders an hour before close. They will run for 7 days.

A Journal must be kept and updated at least every two weeks. The journal is a space for the owner's diary, dream record, RP between two owners, and an RP between two zebras. Others may leave gifts to "sacrifice" to the guardian. Throughout, quests will be given to both zebra and owner to help in their "growth", for the zebra, his aging process, and for the owner to become a better person.

The Plains may send messages though the Journals.

During their time in the Plains, a guardian may meet another guardian, and fall in love. They may choose to breed. By the two guardians breeding, the two owners become a family, and will spend time with eachother. Breeding may be done between male and female, female and female, or male and male. Breeding will cost 6K (3K per guardian). One breeding will produce two totems, which can either be given away, or sold in an auction. The auction will have an autobuy of 60K, sixty percent to go to the parents, to be divided up however they wish. Once the guardians have breeded, they may never breed again.
