Okies, you know I hate to do this, but at least lets get it over with quickly and as painlessly as possible smile

Rules

1.) No stealing. If you are found out to have stolen artwork and imagery from here or any of the visitors here, you will be put on the blacklist for everyone to see and you will be reported to a Mod.
2.) Do not credit the pets as your own artwork, and do not enter them in any art contests, here or elsewhere, or on sites such as DeviantArt, Elfwood, etc.
3.) You may not redistribute any of the pets/artwork, they are to be used on Gaia (i.e. signatures) and/or pet web-pages only.
4.) Do not argue with any of the staff. If you have a problem, you sort it out civilly through PM?s, either to the person you take exception to or to me.
5.) Do not flame anyone in this thread or start fights, you will be blacklisted.
6.) Please do not harass me or any of the guest-colourists, etc, through PM?s by asking for pets, unless you are requesting a custom.
7.) Please do not bug other owners for their pets.
8.) Please do not harass me or any of the staff about the pets, their prices, their colours, etc.
9.) Please do not advertise your own threads here, unless you have my permission. I would prefer to have a sensible Affiliate program. Links in your sig are fine.
10.) Lastly - Have fun 3nodding

Lotsa questions to help you while you're in Fenrir. If there's a question you have that hasn't been addressed here, please don't hesitate to ask in the thread or PM me smile

F.A.Q.

Q. Which pets are currently available?
A. All pets are now available, plus familiars. At this time, there will only be the three pets and the three familiars, I don't want to make this shop too big xd Items are also in development.

Q. How do I get a Rock-hopper/Sandshark/Fenrir Fox?
A. Okies, normally through events such as flatsales, auctions, and raffles. There are special events to be held as well, like story-telling contests, art contests, whatever contests spring to mind xd I might accept pet-trades, but it depends on what is offered and what you want.

Q. How much do Rock-hoppers/Sandsharks/Fenrir Foxes cost?
A. Flatsales are 4k for Common Types, 5k for Rare Types. The Special Types (Dreamweaver, Storyteller, etc) are always done by raffle or auction.

Q. Do you make custom Rock-hoppers/Sandsharks/Fenrir Foxes?
A. Yes I do, but they will cost more than a flatsale Rock-hopper.

Q. How long does it take for my Rock-hopper/Sandshark/Fenrir Fox to grow and when can I breed it?
A. I'd like to try and keep growings at about one week, so you get a cub, then a week later, it's a child, etc. If things come up IRL that prevents me from doing this, there will be a notice on the front page. Your pets can only breed at the adult stage, and then you require a breeding ticket.

Q. Can I PM you?
A. It depends what its about. If you're going to beg and whine and complain and rant and rave, don't bother. If you genuinely have a question that needs answering as soon as possible, or you need to report something, or you need to change something about your pet, then you can PM me. But I'd still prefer you to post in the thread first, I promise I will read them all smile

Q. I have a breedables shop too, can I add you as an affiliate?
A. Sure, the more the merrier :3 If you have nice small URLs and such, that's better still.

Q. Can I be a guest colourist?
A. If I need any, I'll be posting positions/contests on the front page 3nodding

Q. Where do I send the trade when buying a pet?
A. I've added this because I was silly enough to create the shop mule AFTER making the shop lol Anywho, send trades and PMs to the shop mule FenrirDesert

Q. Okies, I've bought a cub/pup/hatchling, what do I do now?
A. You MUST SAVE THE CERT TO YOUR OWN SERVER SPACE. I have only a limited amount of bandwidth, and although the certs will stay up for the purposes of the Owner's list, I cannot allow direct-linking I'm afraid.

Note about Roleplay: None of Fenrir's creatures are RP-required, so they can sit on your web-page or in your sig forever without any backlash. However, those of you who do actively roleplay, either in this thread or in a future guild, or who like to write stories about their pet will get some special benefits.

Fenrir Desert is an extremely inhospitable place. Of huge size, it houses many types of dry desert, ranging from sand dunes the size of mountains, to arid rocky outcrops, to scrub with hardy vegetation. The life forms that inhabit Fenrir are as varied as they come, and have many adaptations that mean they survive where others do not.

Like many places, Fenrir has its own mythology, its own spiritual world connected to the physical world. The storytellers call it the Dreamscape - a place of many vivid colours, alluring images, cacophonous sounds, and many levels of consciousness, housing all manner of creatures. It is from here that some of Fenrir's inhabitants are claimed to have come from. The Dreamscape is also a source of power. It is connected to the physical and natural world in such a way that it influences the rhythms of life. An imbalance or upset in the Dreamscape causes an imbalance or upset in the physical and natural world.

Blazing Rock is so called because of its flame like patterns that litter the craggy rock's surface. It is the entrance to a vast network of underground caves, the stomping grounds of Sandsharks. They particularly shelter there during the hottest parts of the day, and being somewhat social, they will also gather at night and for company. Through the undergroud tunnels, or at least the large ones, the Sandsharks have got quick access to other parts of Fenrir Desert, but because of their size, much of the caverns are unexplored by them. Hoppers and Foxes who are brave enough will sometimes venture into the caverns through one of the smaller entrances, but they risk a quick death. Streams of liquid and metals can be found in the caverns, although only the liquid is of any use to most creatures.
Painted Plateux is the beacon to all knowledge and storyteller types. The mystical patterns, scorched there by previous storytellers, are re-written by new storytellers and interpreted by knowledge types. There are also small isolated caves where Fenrir Foxes sometimes nest and congregate in times of crisis.
It is conveniently located close to Snake Path, a joint habitat for Foxes and Hoppers alike. It is an unusual formation, made up of sand dunes and solidified rock from eons ago, creating this snake like pattern for a path. It is not a high structure, same height as the average Sandshark, but what makes it unique is the soil. A mixture made up of mostly clay and other hardy rock, burrows can be made and stay stable.
Swirling Sands is a dangerous part of Fenrir Desert for all its inhabitants, although some speed and strength Sandsharks have been recorded as having crossed it successfully. Like a hidden swirling sink-pool, the sands are in almost constant shift, but the topmost layer of sand looks almost completely still, fooling many beings into being sucked down into suffocation.
Finally, Visions Cave is the least understood of all Fenrir Desert's landmarks. A strange purple in colour, and scorched with similar patterns to Painted Plateux, it is a small cave known for its high Dreamscape energy. It is the place most dreamer and nightmare types go to enter the Dreamscape, sometimes meeting in inter-species harmony in order to exchange information. It is, however, linked to the underground caverns, so those individuals that travel too far into the cave may run into a disgruntled Sandshark.

Rock-hopper
These odd creatures may resemble kangaroos, but they are far from being marsupial. They are mammalian and give birth to small cubs that have a very soft downy fur and rudimentary horns and wings. Cubs are also born with basic markings, and it is only when they develop that the markings start to appear, becoming very defined in adulthood. Rock-hoppers have an unusual diet, being the only creature in Fenrir able to eat cacti and cacti fruit. As well as this, they also eat hardy shrubs and insects, a favourite being scorpions.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Lifestages
Cub - Tiny and defenceless, they have a body colour, any secondary patterns, and the start of their ability markings. Litters are usually small, so subs nestle close to each other.
Child - Bigger now and able to traverse their environment, although wings aren't fully developed yet. Ability markings are stronger now. In this stage, Hoppers are very mischevious, and unfortunately, it is a time when many young Hoppers are lost to the jaws of Sandsharks.
Adult - Fully grown, able of short flight and gliding, and ability markings have developed. Although still no match against the top predator, an adult Hopper now has fully developed spiralled horns, and the claws on each foot are hoof-like but very strong. Good for kicking.

Fenrir Fox
A coyote sized canid, the Fenrir Fox is found mainly darting between crevices in the rocky outcrops or running for cover in scrubland. Their large paws prevent them from sinking in the sand when they chase side-winder snakes and lizards as far as the sand dunes, and also give them incredible grip on the boulders. Not just an ordinary fox, the Fenrir Fox has developed armour-like plates on certain parts of its body. This is a defence mechanism against the Sandsharks, who mainly attack from the front or from above. It's also good at deterring angry snakes.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Lifestages
Baby - Much like baby Hoppers, baby Foxes are defenceless and huddle next to litter mates for comfort and warmth. Most babies are born underground, where it is much cooler.
Pup - Armour starts to harden and flesh out more at this stage, giving them more than adequate protection against biting and stinging insects and some snakes. Pups are usually still with their mother but love to explore. Another stage fraught with danger.
Adult - Fast, agile, and with fully developed armour, Fenrir Foxes are dangerous to the smaller animals now. They usually co-exist peacefully with Hoppers, but arguments do occur.

Sandshark
Without question, the Sandshark is the most dangerous creature in Fenrir. They grow fairly large for a reptile, just slightly bigger than the estuarine crocodile (think 20ft!). Fortunately for them, the sails that rise and sink along its spine, that aid its swimming movement in sand, also help control its body temperature. The Sandshark will eat just about anything, from Rock-hoppers to unwary travellers across the sands. It is also the best travelled of Fenrir creatures, able to swim through the soft sand but also capable of walking on rocky and dry land. The only time a Sandshark is vulnerable is when it's young.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Lifestages
Egg - The most vulnerable stage of a Sandshark? Debatable, especially since both parents will fiercely guard their clutch. Eggshells don't give away type or much detail about colouring.
Hatchling - Still relatively helpless, the parents will actively hunt and bring back both living and semi-living food in order for the young to learn early. Both genders are born with horns to break through the shell.
Sharkling - Roughly half the size of an adult now, sharklings can leave their parents, although most choose to stay with them for a little longer. Only males develop horns from this stage onwards.
Adult - Old enough to breed and certainly big enough to be an undisputed predator, the males have strong horns for display and fighting purposes, and also have more prominent sails for this reason. Females are territorial and highly unstable in mood and temperament.

Important Note About the Sandsharks: Due to the size of the actual pet, the certs are NOT sig-friendly. If you put a Sandshark in your sig and then you get into trouble, do not blame me. I have given you fair warning. They also bite wink

Every creature that inhabits Fenrir Desert is influenced by a gift from the Dreamscape, imbued at birth and influencing the creature throughout life. The creature also develops markings indicative of its influence.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

*Common Types*
Knowledge - Creatures influenced by knowledge are not usually very strong or fast, although some exceptions do occur, their strengths lie in their ability to think far ahead. These individuals are very wise, almost from birth, and are always keen to learn more, sometimes facing danger in order gain some new piece of knowledge. Markings = head, ears, neck.

Strength - Unlike the knowledgeable ones, those influenced by strength have intense physical advantages. They, like their speed cohorts, tend to rush into a situation without thinking about it, believing that their strength will solve any problem. But, their heart is always in the right place. Markings = arms, torso.

Speed - Also fast to rush in, those influenced by speed are impatient and very hyperactive, sometimes bordering on annoying. They can also be accused of wanting to work alone, trying to prove themselves worthy of something. Speed creatures are often un-knowing heroes. Markings = legs, feet.

Agility - Excellent at evading enemies and predators, those influenced by agility have lightning reflexes and an amazing acrobatic like handling of the environment. Unfortunately, their mind can be just as evasive, and they tend to hide their feelings behind bravado. Some agile-creatures are also cowards, using their ability to avoid confrontation. Markings = tail, spine.

~Rare Types~
Dream - These individuals share a rare connection with the Dreamscape. They are able to enter it freely, travel through it, learn from it, but that is the extent of their abilities. They cannot interact with it. Dream creatures are wistful and sometimes prefer their own company to a crowd, but do whatever is necessary to save friends and family. Markings = wings predominantly, plus other parts.

Nightmare - Like the dream creatures, nightmare creatures can freely interact with Dreamscape. But only those levels that deal with pain, cruelty and all manner of nasty emotions. These individuals are hard to trust because of their enjoyment of other's misery, but some rare beings do overcome the bad stereotype. Markings = wings predominantly, plus other parts.

^Special Types^
Dreamweaver - Exceptionally rare, a Dreamweaver may only be born once every 10 generations. They are usually affected by either dream or by nightmare, and unlike those types, dreamweavers can interact with the Dreamscape. They can manipulate it, affecting the physical world. Dreamweavers are sort of like the white whale in Moby d**k - very hard to find, very elusive and secretive. Markings = unknown, various.

Storyteller - A little more common than the dreamweaver, the storyteller is the keeper of legends and is instantly imbued with the Dreamscape's knowledge at birth. It is their duty to pass on the myths, the legends, and to also document new ones. Storytellers have chronicled every battle of good and evil that has ever occurred in the Dreamscape. They are very verbose and talk at length. Markings = head, arms, wings.

Custom Orders
Okay, I'm going to put down some initial prices for custom pets, as there are varying difficulties and efforts required. These can easily be refined as demand calls for. And, I not only accept Gaia cash, but I will accept items (see below) and pets from the Pet Wishlist above 3nodding BUT - there must be a custom slot open before you order xd

Common type custom - 15k, which seems fair as this covers all the stages and any complexity of patterns and markings
Rare type custom - 20-25k, this does varie slightly depending on the complexity, as there is added effort in the special markings (they glow!)
Cosplay/Lineart edit custom - 30-35k, lineart edits are hard to get just right xd
Special type custom - Okay, now you are talking some serious loot here. These are all one off linearts, unique, etc. Anything on the bribe list is a good start wink I doubt I'll get that many requests for these, so the prices are open and determined by the complexity of your critter, i.e. you want a Sandshark with huge horns, lotsa spikes, wings, and complex patterns, its going to cost you more.

Cactus Ona- one of the few birds in Fenrir Desert, the Cactus Ona's diet consists almost entirely of cactus flesh and flowers, sometimes catching the odd insect now and then. It is said that Ona's have an almost sixth sense, particularly with weather and the prediction of sandstorms. It is for this reason that Ona's are kept as companions by Desert beings. They are roughly the size of a crow.

Fairy Hopper- a distant relative of the Rock-Hopper, these are much smaller, about the size of domesticated rat. They lack horns or hooves, but do possess fantastic large ears and keen eyesight. They are perfect as lookouts.

Sandwyrm- not actually related to the Sandshark, these are far more reptilian and quite anti-social with each other. However, they aren't overly intelligent and can be quite faithful to whomever feeds it. Because of the low-slung body and tiny limbs, they move like snakes through the sand, or sometimes like the Sidewinder snake on the sand's surface.
