These are the steps to the Membership Application. If you follow them, you will be accepted.
New Member Applications
Step One
If a person wishes to become a new member, they should click the join guild button saying why they would like to join this guild. If there is no reason given to join the guild, the request will be immediately denied. All applying members should have patience. Applications will only be reviewed once a week.
Step Two
After the application has been reviewed, the Captain will PM the applicant asking for a writing sample of a poem or 100-200 words of prose taken from a longer work, giving the applicant two peices of writing to critic for a critic sample, and a link to the Guild Constitution. All members should read the whole Constitution before replying with the writing sample and critics. The applicant will be held to the Constitution from that point forward. If the sample and critics are not sent back within two week of the Captain asking for them, the application will be denied.
Step Three
After the Captain has reviewed the writing sample and the two pieces of critic sample, they will accept or deny the request giving reasons for both. The member will have a month to PM the Captain after fixing the reasons given for a denial.
New Member Policy
- We do not discriminate against new members based on their writing style or writing maturity. All writers are accepted. A writing sample is requested because (1) we want to see were you are as a writer, (2) it gives us the chance to see what you prefer to write, and (3) based on your decision on what you send to us, it helps us to make sure you understand the Guild rules and Gaia's TOS.
We ask for a critic sample because the Guild runs on critics. If you are unwilling to give critics, then this is not the guild for you.
