Adeska------------------------------------------
-------------------Nessin

I was a child of sin.
I carry my mother's power.
I was possessed.

"You haven't seen what I've seen." Adeska looked up, unexpected wrath present in her near black eyes. "You haven't felt what I have felt. You haven't heard a voice speak through your own lips, seen death at your hand, and be utterly powerless to stop it. You don't know what she can do!" Adeska was standing now, nearly screaming through tears at Kimberly. "I've almost killed both of them, and Tessa, and my mother. I've been powerless before to her, I won't be again!" Her screams were cutoff as Miguel enveloped her into his arms, cradling and comforting the sobbing Adeska, looking at Kimberly with an apology deep in his eyes, feeling guilty that he had let Adeska go off.

"Shh darling...its ok...shh..." Miguel said, smoothing down Adeska's hair. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have left...should have at least warned you." He said.

This is no more.
I am my own master.

Kimberly Sarani

My mother was a Vampire, my father was an Angel.
I am definitely not what you'd call "normal".

Kimberly didn't back down at all, despite the surprise evident in her eyes. Still she was grateful for Miguel's intervention, and she shook her head with a faint smile. "You're right, of course. I don't know what you've seen, but neither do you know what I have. Believe me, I've seen my share of terrors as well and I may not have any place to judge, but I also don't let it lead me into despair - which if I hear rightly is among the most exploited feelings for possession." She came down to a crouch again and sighed, defeated all the same. "I'm only trying to help, really."

Vampiric? Sure. Unholy? In a way.
But unholy doesn't define a person.

Miguel------------------------------------------

Beaten and broken time and time again,
I was saved by the sea.

"Please don't think ill of her. She is merely upset, she can't help it. 500 years is a long time to watch someone else control you." Miguel said, his voice still holding soothing tones as he gently rocked Adeska in his arms. He sighed and pressed his forehead to the top of Adeska's head, closing his eyes. "I really am sorry." He murmured.

"No, no it's alright." Kimberly said shyly, "I deserve every word of it. I don't understand it from a firsthand perspective, I really have no place discerning from my own standpoint. Besides..." she shrugged and turned away, her coat rustling in the breeze slightly. "It takes a bit more than a second impression of anger to get me thinking poorly of anyone. If I let something like that bother me then who in the world would I be to make the same advice I give?"

Vampiric? Sure. Unholy? In a way.

"Even still, she normally isn't like this." Miguel murmured, shifting Adeska's weight into his arms as the girl shuddered. His eyes scanned the shore, and then the sky. He calculated the time in his head and sighed. "Will you be going to council later with the Captain?" He asked Kimberly softly.

Kimberly thought for a moment, figuring the odds of potential gain against her inevitable losses both ways, but nodded after a near minute. "Given permission, I suppose I should. I'm no fan of a particular someone on the council but the information is worth it to me." She shrugged and turned back to Miguel and Adeska with a small smile. "The two of you look great together, by the way. A very nice match, as far as I can see. Well-mannered, fairly nice... comely," she added with a nervous laugh, "but I digress. Thank you for the time, in any event and, Adeska I'm sorry for any grief."

Adeska composed herself enough to weakly smile. "I'm sorry, I really am," She said softly. Miguel smiled at Kimberly, still slightly blushing from Kimberly's compliment.

"Thank you," He mumbled, kissing the top of Adeska's head.

"Not a problem at all," Kimberly said with a giggle, "but, I guess I should go see to things with the captain. No sense making him wait, huh?"
She jogged off with a wave behind her as she made her way back to the cabin and nudged the door open. "Jack?" she asked tentatively with a half-step in, "If it's alright with you I'd like to come with you to the council when you report this latest... incident. Is that alright with you?"

Vampiric? Sure. Unholy? In a way.

Of Blood and Gold I know,
of the freedom of a ship,
and only the wind holding you back.

"To...council..." Jack said, finishing his page before looking up at Kimberly. "Oh, yes. Council." He said, snapping back to reality. "That would be fine, welcome actually." He said with a smile, reaching over to his wine glass and draining it before setting it back down on the desk and turning his page. He paused as if to say something more before he shook his head slightly and went back to reading.

"If you see Tessa could you send her in perhaps?" He asked after a second.

Tessa Cortez

The fear of the many,
the price of the truth.

"You don't look very hard, do you love?" Tessa's voice came from around the bend to the balcony, as she leaned over her shoulder to appear in the rear doorway with her trademark small smile.

Kimberly laughed, "Oh, Jack asked me to call you in." she said in between giggles.
"Oh, did he?" Tessa smiled, "And why might that be?" she added, directed more to her husband.

"Ah, that is where you got off to," Jack said with a chuckle, twisting in his chair. "You should know I am oblivious when reading a well written book." He said standing and moving over towards Tessa. "Could I not merely want the company and attention of my wife?" He asked, taking Tessa's hand and brushing his lips with her knuckles. He hesitated to telling her about Isobel before deciding against it for now and instead merely looked up to her with a grin.

Tessa giggled, looking over to Kimberly with a smile. "You may want to take a breather outside for a bit. I'm not sure Jack's in the mood for two right about now."

Kimberly's eyes widened slightly, "Oh, of course!" she backtracked outside, "Apologies."
With that the door closed.
Tessa turned her attention back to Jack and leaned over to him slightly. "Alright, what's all this about Jack?" she asked, curious.

"Nothing darling," Jack murmured, grinning as his lips traced up Tessa's arm, pausing in various spots. Her wrist, the crook of her elbow, the top of her shoulder. "Will you accompany me to council tonight?" Jack asked, stopping at Tessa's ear with a smile toying with his lips. "I don't think I can face them alone, or with the aid of merely Kimberly. Not that I doubt her abilities of course, I am just very sure of your ability to terrify." Jack said.

Tessa's face flushed continually but at Jack's praise she took a step back and laughed. "I think you're confused, Jack. Me, terrifying? I've heard one thing into the next but terror? No, you've got the wrong girl." She paused for a moment, considering the more serious line of reason for his question, and nodded all the same.
"I'll come though. Something about her strikes me as odd anyway; it's worth looking into, I should think."

"I am still shuddering every time I look into the rigging, need I remind you?" Jack teased, a grin tracing his lips. He sighed then though and ran a hand through his hair, looking to the sky for a moment in thought. "It seems a great many things here are worth looking into. Her case would be something I would look into first, as we may be stuck with it for the longest." Jack looked down with a small chuckle.
