⊙ "Of course." Nicholai breathed against her as he slipped his arms under her shoulders and braced himself against her gently, lips still roaming her neck. "Relax..." He whispered gently, slipping his hands back to her waist in a soft caress. "You'll be able to stop, I trust you." There was no cause for his trust, nor was there some strong emotion towards the girl at that particular moment, however he knew that her innocence would be helpful. Even if it didn't, what did he have to lose? Nothing that mattered.

Kimberly closed her eyes, gradually feeling a chill wash from top to bottom as she relaxed and let her fangs pierce down into the back of Nicholai's neck, drawing an amount of blood that would easily have earned her ridicule among vampires for how little she pulled, but keeping careful not to harm him with any measure of permanency either. After hardly even a pint of blood she retracted and dropped her head back against the bedding, breathing a little heavily but keeping most of herself tension-free. After a brief moment she calmed again, looking up at Nicholai and staring into his eyes. "Remind me to ask about that later..." she said quietly, before running a hand back down his back to his waist.

⊙ "I'm sure I'll forget between now and then." Nicholai said with a breathless chuckle as his heart thumped in his chest, and he pressed it to Kimberly's chest, pressed himself down onto her. He smiled at her and stilled her breath by pressing his lips to hers, hands traversing her waist. "In fact, I would love for you to make me forget." He whispered in her ear.

Kimberly's eyes glowed a brief moment with excitement as she felt Nicholai's weight push down on her, and with only a brief moment to her name, flipped him over and put herself atop him, straddling both of his sides as she leaned up and stretched backwards while seated on his hips. She put both hands under the bottom lip of his shirt and slipped it up about halfway, seeming content with leaving it there as she trailed a finger along his stomach. "Funny how that works," she remarked, "You and I aren't really so different now are we?"

⊙ "I suppose not." Nicholae said, watching Kimberly's hands with excitement. He held her waist gently, eyes traveling up her lustily.
⊙"Ah Kimberly? We could use you up on-Oh my." Miguel stopped as he opened the door and spotted the pair on the bed. Nicholai flushed and pushed himself into more of a seated posistion while the crew master's eyes narrowed in mild anger."Mister Achmideus. I do believe you are on duty, no? It would be good for you not to shirk your duties." Miguel paused, watching Kimberly with a steadily reddening face, not sure how to reprimand her.

The moment Kimberly heard the door open behind her and her name called, she spun off from Nicholai and faced the doorway with a more passive look on her face, but her luck had run rather thin. Upon hearing that the man had been negligent of his duties she narrowed her eyes slightly and looked over to him, muttering something about being mistaken of her gentleman remark, but she slid back a step and slipped her coat back on, opening her window and perching on it as she looked back to Miguel over her shoulder.
"Sorry you had to see that; I'll be on deck then." she said simply, before taking a single jump up and flipping over a hand at the railing, before landing on deck, her breath quite slow. "I knew there were strings attached. Maybe a little better with misdirection than subtlety, but..."
She straightened, seeming quite ordinary for herself and stepping out towards center deck, still not quite sure of what she was needed for.

⊙ "Kimberly! I-I'm sorry, I thought there would be no need for us, we surely wouldn't have been mi-Oh, Oh Lord above." Nicholae had searched Kimberly out, but had frozen upon seeing the black sails swiftly drawing nearer to the Duchess. "Its the Ebony Hawk sir!" One of the crew members shouted up to Jack who had emerged from his cabin, and was peering through a telescope. "Well what the bloody hell is Felix doing?" The captain asked himself quietly, not without anxiety, but more curiousity.

Kimberly simply shook her head at Nicholai's voice from the side, keeping her mind set on what was at this point in front of her rather than immediately behind. "We'll discuss it later." she said bluntly. 'Sides, no sense making things worse.. she figured. She turned her focus back to the matter at hand.
"Felix?" She called, taking several running steps forward and watching the coming vessel. "You have got to be kidding me... he said he'd steer clear.."
Her eyes narrowed, hands glowing slightly with a violet glint. She looked down to either hand and dismissed the power around them. "Jack, I can find out what's going on if you'd let me." she said with a degree of confidence, "Besides, I think I might know what's going on but I have no way of being sure."

Jack took a quick glance at Kimberly and shook his head, catching her gaze and her hand phenomenon. "No. Absolutely not. I will not allow you to do something so rash." The captain said, waving for Mr. Porter. "Whether or not Felix is evil, we both know my standpoint on the matter, we simply cannot make ourselves seem a threat to his life or property. It would not do. You are sailing under flag of the Duchess, and it would bring hell from the courts if word were to reach them of a mishap. Ah, Mr. Porter."

"We've not been hailed yet, Captain?" The crew master asked, peering with his hand over his brow to block the sun. "Yes, yes that is her alright. Such a terrible beauty that ship is, I hate to think of that man owning her."

"As do I Mr. Porter, as do I." Jack said, looking back through his telescope. "What you may do Kimberly is keep an even eye on the gun ports. I doubt the man is an idiot...or rather, I don't think he would fancy his ship being blown to hell." The captain said. "Ah yes, there is the flag. Hoist the colors Kimberly." Jack said, in an even tone. Nicholai approached the captain, standing behind Miguel as he viewed the approaching ship with burning anger.

Kimberly took another look at the oncoming ship before nodding to Jack, rushing to the mast and unfurling the Duchess' flag. With strength that belied traces of her nature, she quickly raised the flag and retied the rope such that it was unlikely at best to slip. Again she looked back to Felix' ship, her stare falling impassively. "I wonder..." she thought aloud, before shaking the idea from her mind. She couldn't make her mistake again, and with a slight nod ran up to the railing, keeping an eye as ordered on the Hawk's cannon ports.

As soon as the Ebony Hawk had pulled up alongside the Duchess and the boarding planks were secure, Felix strode across to the Duchess, catching sight of Kimberly with a mild flicker of fear before he easily smiled at Jack, who nodded sharply. The black feathers woven into his hair moved with the wind and gently tugged at his hair.

"What is the meaning of this Felix?" Jack demanded, stepping as to move in between Kimberly and Felix, maintaining a close eye on Nicholai. Felix looked around for a moment as Scarlett crossed over, hair bound back into a simple queue, and she smiled at Jack, an edge of cold around it. "Well?" The Duchess' captain asked again.

"The courts have the notion to request that you make port at N'djenaba. There is where the Company will parler with the Courts." Felix said, a grin of amusement coming over his face as he waited for Jack's reaction.

"Oh, so now the Duchess is a messenger ship charged with overseeing a meeting of cowards?" Jack spat, and Felix chuckled before making a mockery of a sympathetic face.

"No need to be harsh Jack. Its our last chance before they come after us again." Scarlett said without emotion, eyes locked with his from where she stood. Jack glared at her before Calypso laid a hand on his shoulder.

"We'll look forwards to seeing you there." Felix laughed, turning and glancing at Kimberly before striding over to the boarding railing.

"So much for the freedom of power, eh? It seems to me that the Ebony Hawk reduced to running memo's to a pirate without Lordship is a pitiful event." The words that came from Nicholai's mouth stopped Felix cold, and the vampire swiveled back around, phasing to right in front of Nicholai and slamming him into the cabin wall.

"One word out of your mouth and I-" Jack interupted Felix with a sword drawn at the back of his neck. Nicholai spit blood in Felix's face and promptly fell unconscious.

This is what I loved...And lost.

Kimberly bit her lip, suspecting that even without her involvement things weren't going to go too well. She looked over to Miguel and shook away her doubts on the matter, before taking a few jogging steps away from Jack and Felix. She turned, maintaining a watchful eye on them but signaling Miguel over to her all the same. "I seriously doubt Adeska's going to like this either..." she mentioned quite simply. "Negotiations with the Company just don't go well, and how in all the hells are we going to keep her from interjecting out of line and risking herself, let alone anyone else?"

Miguel gravitated over to Kim and remained tense as he thought, eyes never leaving Felix, feeling glad Adeska had wished to nap. "We'll have to try and keep her away from the meeting." He said, watching Jack and Felix bicker while Scarlett hovered over the unconscious man, cleaning him up with disapproving glances at both captains. Finally, she seemed to be brought into the argument and she shouted at both of them before stalking off onto the other ship. Felix muttered a string of curses and Jack shooed him away. Soon after, the Ebony Hawk was off and away, black sails full of wind.

Kimberly nodded to Miguel and sighed, having little choice in the matter but to agree with the man's reasoning. She nodded all the same, approaching Jack with a more grave tone than she normally carried to her name. "What's your plan, Captain?" She asked, for lack of any particular knowledge of the prior argument.

Jack refocused his mind and looked at Kimberly in contemplation. "We have little choice in the matter regrettably, so to N'djenaba we will go, the Duchess and the Hawk are to arrive within a day of each other." His displeasure rang in his voice, and he looked at Nicholai with mild amusement as he stepped up nearer. "A curious young man. Glad to see it." He said with a smile and nod.

"All hands make sail." He declared in a loud tone before bowing his head to Kim and withdrawing into his cabin, leaving Mr. Porter to take over; who did flawlessly. Soon the crew was flurrying around on deck, unfurling the sail. Nicholai cast a last glance at Kimberly before retreating under Miguel's glare.

"I do hope that he did not harm you," He said to Kimberly, reaching an arm to hers to indicate he wished to speak with her further. "And I feel I must apologize as well for his behavior." He said with sincerity.

This is what I loved...And lost.
