WTF?!?!?!? (Open Story Roleplay in the Lost Woods)

[Esquire Mitch]

Rutu's ears were still paining him, and the world was strangely silent. Although, it did smell strongly of long rotted corpses, that probably had something to do with the skeletons scattered about he thought.

He looked up at the Twili and asked where they were. Strange...he couldn't hear his own voice, odd, very very odd.  

[Nurgle Burglar]

The air was silent. Strangely, wrongfully silent. Ju'mcxa absentmindedly waved away the silence spell trap they had triggered by arriving in the village. It had probably been placed there to take care of casters with musical or verbal magic, but it didn't bother Jum in the slightest. In fact, he hardly noticed it.

What he did notice was the plump wet nightcrawler protruding from the soil between the sixth and seventh digits of his left foot. He bent down to pick it up.

"Intriguing," he said as it wrapped itself around his long gangly fingers.  

[Esquire Mitch]

"That, would be what we call a worm. We use them to catch fish." Rutu placed his hands together inside his voluminous sleeves bringing a serene expression to his face as he looked around.

"Soooooo...why is everybody dead? and where are the villagers?" His skin blanched slightly as he took in the sight and smell of all the death and decay.  

[Nurgle Burglar]

In a continuation of his perfect record of ignoring anything important the zora said, he placed the worm against the zora's forehead.

"I have caught you. Do I receive a wish?"  

[Esquire Mitch]

Rutu forced a genial smile to his face, even with all the vast power this thing controlled it still seemed less than a child at heart. "Sadly no, to get a wish you'd have to have a nice long chat with a fairy or two, but that is another story."

He gently took the worm from his forehead and gently set it on the ground where it soon began squirming back into the dirt.  

[Nurgle Burglar]

"They give WISHES too?" Jum exclaimed, his eyes lighting up. He was unable to control his aura as his excitement flared, and little bits of purple lightning lashed out from his lower body into the ground as his magical energy attempted to stabilize itself.

"Now I simply MUST have one!"

He took of half running half gliding down the path that ran through the village.

Rutume took off after him, it was like caring for a child, only worse, the stray spark of magic energy that had scorched the ground gave ample proof of that. "Wait! Where are you going?!?" He was gaining on the Twili despite how quickly it ran and glided away from him. He moved as quickly as he could, but it had been a great long while since he had felt a need to move so quickly for such a length of time, he had little endurance for such things. His skin was tingling, as if just being near the Twili was exciting his magical senses...he'd never actually been taught how to formally access that power...

A small figure watched from the tree branches overhead, slinking through the shadows of leaves. She had her knife at the ready, prepared to jump down on the Zora at a moment's notice. Hopefully, his death would be before he could cry out to warn his companion.
