I got a positive comment from a "normal" person. My hair was dyed green, then one day I had to go in to school to write a make-up test. I woke up early and was bored. So I ended up looking all snazzy and proffesional.

The next day at my final exam the director of my course admited as much as she dislikes my green hair, big earlobes, and all my facial piercings, she had to admit they suited me really well and I'm one of the few people she has seen been able to pull it all together and still look like a proffesional while being able to exspress my self. biggrin

Just the other day I was walking out of the grocery store (why does this s**t always happen to me in grocery stores? And always in the same one.) and this mother and small girl walked by, stared me in the eye and the mother said "You think she's a witch?" while picking up the girl and giving me a wide berth as she walked by. Who the hell does that?!

I about turned around and said something back, but I was already late for work and didn't want to be any later. I tell you what, though, next time something like this happens I'm going to retaliate.

If she hadn't of had a little girl with her, I probably would have retaliated. But I was late for work anyway, and didn't want to scare the poor kid. If it happens again, you can bet that I'll not be taking it lying down.

I know what I said in my last post, but I also think this, it is far better to spread understanding. If all people that wear ink openly are constantly retaliating, then firstly it makes us no better than them, as well as just adding to the persona they think we have. Normally I just kinda smile when someone says something to the point of "I don't like tattoos" or "They are so meaningless" I normally respond with "Yeah, but that's what makes em great. I can love them and you can hate them but in the end we are all equal." Then I smile and tell them to have a good day.

I used to work at this little convenience store, and was always changing between pink, blue, and green hair. Customers always had something to say, but the absolute worst was when a man reached across the counter, grabbed a handful of my hair, and yanked...hard. Only a few strands were pulled out, luckily for him, but I kept my composure, and asked something along the lines of "sir, you dumb He said I didn't need to get an attitude with him, and explained that his daughter is always wearing these "fake, rainbow hair" scrunchies, and he wanted to call me on my bluff. I asked him if he ever ripped at every fingernail he assumed to be glued on, and when it was ever okay to lay a hand on someone in such a way. He said it was not a habit, and left.
I think a lot of lesser-minded people in this world, almost believe it is okay to behave that way towards people different from themselves. I've asked a few of them why they react this way, and the answer was always somewhere along the line of, "if you didn't want attention, you wouldn't look this way".

Another time, I was walking through Walmart with my best friend, (now fiance), and an old woman rudely approached us...I can't even remember what she said now, but it was because of the length of his hair (he doesn't have any visible piercings, and no tattoos). She handed him a pamphlet and said she knew his kind as heathens, and that he needed to find the Lord.
He kindly accepted it, and said "Jesus had long hair."

It's people like her who set the negative stereotype for Christianity. But I'm not steering this into a debate on religion, so nobody take it there please. x_X;

Lol this reminds me of something that happened to me. People in my brothers church are constantly telling me "your body is a temple." So when a proposition came up at a board meeting to repaint the church (I had driven my brother to the meeting) I stood up and asked why they were repainting it. They replied that it would be more astheticaly pleasing and more people would join the congregation. Then I took off my hoodie, rolled up my sleeves and asked "Why can you decorate your temple as you see fit and not I?"

Oh god, my mother is horrible. I have my ear stretched to a 2ga. No biggie it isn't that big ya know. She is constantly telling me I am going to regret them and what not. I got so annoyed I couldn't help but, "wow mom why didn't you tell me you have the special ability to see in to the ******** future?" She shut up. She was like, "are your holes this big," and made a circle with her fingers that was about a 00ga or an 1inch around. I looked at her and replied, "you are kidding right? Do my ear looks that?" Then when I was getting married, I had 4 of my tattoos showing. I did this on purpose I wanted them to show. They are apart of me. She tell the photographer, "oh I am sure you never shot a freak before have you?" The photographer looked at her like WTF and replied, "Oh I shot a lot of people with tattoos. They are the norm now. I think it gives her personality and flair!" My mom's jaw dropped hoping the woman would have agreed with her. Then I left my labret in while getting married. My mom was like, "ugh that is so disgusting, he isn't going to want to kiss someone with metal in their mouth." I told her, "well people kissed me with braces which is A LOT more metal than a simple labret." I eventually got fed up and told her, "look I have tattoos and piercings. Yes some of those piercings are stretched. I know I look like a freak to some but to other I am normal. I don't care how I look to others. As long as when I look in the mirror and smile at what I see, I am happy. Now shut up about them or I am going to leave and never come back." Needless to say she has shut up for good and hasn't said anything about my mods.

That's quick thinking. I would loved to have been there to see the response. It's a very valid point, though. If your body is a temple, you have every reason to make it as beautiful as possible.

The Fetish Faerie- Your mom just sounds rude, more than anything else. x_x At least she hasn't said anything in a while, but still, I would never call my daughter a freak. Obviously she loves you or she wouldn't have listened to your warning.

The best way to describe my mother is unpleasant. She is rude... >.> I can't even begin to deny that even though she is my mother. I love her as a mother but I don't like her. She finally shut up because I have my own place, money and freedom. I am not a minor so really she can't dictate what I do and she knows that so she gave up. THANK GOD!

Yesterday I went to the doctor because I have really bad headaches, so the guy look into my nose, my mouth and then he goes to see my ears, and as he sees my right ear he says "Oh I know why you have those headaches, it's because of you disks there", I was very confused by this so I just asked "what disks?" wich he replyed so smartly "those african things, when you take them of you'll have saggy ears. And you have headaches because of the pressure they are making in your ears". Wtf?
I explain to him that I don't want to take them off and that my stretch ears weren't under any kind of pressure. He said that he wasn't going to examine me any further (not that I wanted anymore anyway) so I told him to ******** of, left his office ask his assistent where I could make a formal complaint and then left without paying the bill <.<

He didn't even believed that I already had headaches before I had stretch ears u.u

I had a girl at work today tell me the reason I didn't get the Shift Lead promotion I applied for was because I was pierced and tattooed, and that no one would take me seriously if I were promoted.

Oh well, I'm about to abandon this job anyway. For several reasons, including just getting tired of the constant stares, annoying questions, ignorance, and hypocrisy that goes on in that place.

Wow, I've never had anything like that happen to me. Then again I'm not as modified as most of the people in this guild. I intend to be more modified.

I need to quit going to this particular grocery store.

We're in the store, Boyfriend and I, wandering around trying to figure out what we want for dinner. We detour into the school supplies aisle because he needed more notecards. I'm surfing the aisle and all of a sudden we hear, over the INTERCOM ANNOUNCEMENT SYSTEM: "Security, rotate cameras to aisle 4." I look and we're the only ones there... in aisle 4.

I am so tired of being harassed in this store. This is the same one where I had a women yell horrible things at me across the produce section, the same one where some woman said "You think she's a witch?" to her 2 year old as I walked by. And now this. Yeah, think I'm dong going there.
