Tessa looked back to the others and upon seeing Ferathi's affirming nod she shrugged on her way to look back to Jack.
"Seems like there aren't any objections, so I imagine dinner's still good, but... hunting?"
She took a step back and again tossed a look Ferathi's way.
"Perhaps we can help with that?"

"No," Jack said in an objected tone. "I won't let others bring to me what a vampire needs," He said looking over to the ship on the starboard side of the Duchess. "I won't be long with it, I only need a short time tonight," He said, knowing full well that the Court city was populated heavily with people and animals alike.

"Alright, alright..." Tessa said quickly just above a whisper, "I didn't know."
She backed away a step and made as if particularly unknowing, with a slight fear in her eye resulting from Jack's sudden change in tone. For several seconds she pondered over her thoughts but she closed her eyes and shook her head at its conclusion.
"I was just trying to help," she said weakly.

Jack looked over to Tessa, guilt in his eyes, as he realized that he had scared her. "Tessa..." He said stepping closer to her, reaching out for her hand. "I don't want to hurt you, that is all," He said softly, searching her eyes gently, with sincere regret in his eyes. The fact that he may of scared her made his chest clench and he ran a hand through his hair.

"I..." Tessa nodded, eyes still closed, "I know. Sooner or later I'll get over it, I just... have to think on what Ilyia told me after you saved me."
She looked up at him, eyes as soft as ever.
"You're pretty good at that, you know. Saving me, that is."
It was all she could do to bring a smile to her face at the remark.

Jack smiled faintly, drawing Tessa closer to him in a gentle embrace and kissing the top of her head softly. "Let's not forget who was saved first," He murmured closing his eyes. He couldn't help but smile, feeling Tessa in his grasp. He pushed away the selfish thoughts about merely drinking from Tessa, or even changing her before he sighed and stepped away. "Sorry," He murmured, looking away from Tessa.

Tessa had to fight not to laugh, but even then could barely hold her smile.
"Haha, why Jack? You've done nothing wrong. Look, I was told I couldn't say it but..." She thought for a moment, "I'll tell you what. Hold off on your 'hunting' until tomorrow, can you? I have an idea that might have some merit."

Jack stilled himself and thought for a while. It may become dangerous if he held off on his hunt, but he didn't want to upset Tessa, and his curiosity was beginning to climb. "If you can deal with a slightly more drunken husband for the evening then of course," He said with a dark chuckle. He had a suspicion that one way or another he would want himself drunk.

"Jack..." Tessa paused, "alright, but promise me you'll hear what I have to say before you drink anything and we have a deal."
She thought for a moment longer, and for a second a small trace of fear played across her eyes but she shrugged it off.
"Let me put it the good old famous way; do you trust me on the matter?"

Jack nodded. "Of course love," He said, smiling faintly at Tessa. His brow was creased in both thought and concern. He looked at the sun before catching a passing Mr. Porter and murmuring to him about a few dishes he would like to have for the evening, including several types of fish, and an octopus that had been caught by one of the deckhands. Mr. Porter nodded and headed off to the cook. Jack returned his attention to Tessa and looked at her softly. "Is there any more that you can tell me?"

She laughed a slight bit and kissed Jack on the cheek before twisting about him to rejoin with the Sisterhood.
"Just you wait, Jack," she called back, "it'll be worth it!"

Jack looked after her shaking his head slightly, a small chuckle parting his lips. He headed into the cabin to make final preparations including ironically his will.

Soon after, the food became coming into the room, various dishes with steam rising from the platters, and a bottle of wine set at each seat, three at Jack's seat alone, along with a bottle of rum. Jack straightened his silverware as he knocked his fork slightly out of place in sitting down.

The steadfast Will of the Earth.

Ferathi, waiting just inside the cabin's entrance let out a slight gasp of shock in seeing the contents of the table, and after a moment to get over herself dropped her head into her hand.
"You sure know how to lay out a welcome, don't you?" She laughed, "bravo Jack."

Vanessa looked about uncomfortably for a moment but resigned herself to sitting down and making a vague attempt at eating something, however little she could manage without pausing time and again in thought.

Cassandra and Tessa remained entirely quiet at the table, with a brief glance from the former to the latter every so often as if to see that she was at least still there.

"Thank...you," Jack said almost questioningly, opening the first of his wine bottles. It seemed as if an uncomfortable feeling had settled over the room, and Jack's bottle's base made small circles in the air before he drank from it, him thinking of something to say. He set down his bottle and looked around the table with concern. "My, I must be a terrible host to let my company remain so quiet," He said in a light joking tone, even if his thoughts weren't so light.

Ferathi stole a glance at Vanessa, and almost immediately she shied away from the look.

"Alright, alright." Vanessa hung her head defeated, "I ah... I'm sorry about earlier, Jack. I usually don't jump to conclusions so fast, but I really let the manner with the half-sister get by me. I just don't understand it is all."
