So cold... All the same, all about me. The wit, the wisdom. Here I stand, Here I live... The truth of a revelation, frozen in fear. Slowly dying...
Tessa sighed, unable to argue against Jack's reasoning, but all the same what of himself? She looked up to him with a twinge of regret in her eyes, but nodded her head all the same. "Alright, you win." She sighed, "What would you suggest then?"

Jack------------------------------------------ ------------------- Cortez
Of Blood and Gold I know, of the freedom of a ship, and only the wind holding you back.
"It is customary for the created vampire to drink from the creator, as to regain the vitality of their more mortal life," Jack said, swirling his wine in his glass. "And then perhaps I will consult with the other vampires in the courts. Certainly there must be more than just Felix," He said. "Alcohol seems to help however, and wine and blood mix very well," The ease that he spoke of this was abnormal, but natural to him, as if he were a doctor speaking of anatomical parts.
This is what I loved...And lost. [OutrageousObliviousCats: ---]

Tessa remained silent for several seconds before sighing and dropping her head into her hand. "Don't get me wrong Jack. I'm still fairly shy in the manner of alcohol, as I'm sure you're aware, but..." she gave up, "you win. Come over here... as much as it kills me to think of the irony." She added after a moment.

"Don't tell me you hadn't thought ahead?" Tessa inquired, "That's not like you Jack." She lowered her head a moment, still barely able to cope with what she herself had to do merely to sustain her own life at that point. She knew the necessity though, and it had driven her someway into a manner of sorrow for him to have put up with it so long. "Is it necessarily wrong for me to have a measure of regret that I have to do this, Jack?" She asked after a moment.

Tessa thought it over for a moment and shook her head slightly. "I don't think that quite counts if the lion doesn't love the sheep," she said with a slight laugh, turning to Jack, "but..." She looked down to their hands intertwined within each other, her face dropping slightly in reminiscence. "I'm sorry, I'm such a mess, aren't I?"

"You can thank Ilyia for that," Tessa said after a moment of thought, "seems to be a frequent thing these days." Despite her restraint she lifted a hand to Jack's and gripped him lightly by the wrist with a sigh. She turned over to him and gave into her need for blood, but with so near an extreme slow that it was beyond easy to tell her tentativeness in committing such an act. After enough blood had been taken to allow her some clarity of vision and thought she backed off and closed her eyes, immediately memorizing the taste and feel of it. "Something I will certainly have to adjust to," she remarked after a second.

Tessa tried vainly several times to refute Jack's noticeable truth in his words, but for the second or two of simple sputters that resulted in her first few attempts she gave up not long after. "Alright, you win." She said with a sigh, "It's just an odd feeling, to need something based on the suffering of others. I can't even explain..." She looked up to him with a depth in her eyes betraying as much thought as she had been through after the dream, "Have I ever told you much about my youth, Jack?"

Tessa opened her mouth to ask if Jack was interested in hearing but upon seeing the look he had given her she found no need to ask. Instead she rolled her shoulders back slightly and looked up to the ceiling in thought. Deciding the best route to take her explanation she tilted her head back down to Jack and nodded slightly. "My mother always loved the ways of the waters. Calm, peaceful, typically quiet. She was the same way until father died, and at the age of twelve I got myself wrapped up in the life of a priestess." She looked down at herself with an amused laugh, "Imagine that, a priestess winding up a generally-viewed unholy creature. But anyway, I always wanted to know why mother was so upset, why Randall could never get over himself. Looking back, it's perhaps the last mystery of origins I have left to figure. Randall never spoke well of father, I might put it that way. I don't remember much of him at all, but he didn't seem near as awful as my brother makes him sound. Then again, I think the both of us are enough to prove you can't take a first glance and expect it to last, can you?"
