I play melee characters a lot, so I'm a bit biased on my experiences... haha

I play mostly scrappers, sometimes one of my brutes. I always have at least one moment on the way to 20 (and a lot more after) where I go into something ready to die but don't. For instance, on my Broadsword/Dark Armor scrapper (He was level 16 at the time) I waded in a mess of Vazhilok when the team's tank wouldn't budge. I not only lived, but I massacred the lot of them, which surprised me. Parry and Dark Regeneration rule ^^ The group and the tank proceeded to let me charge into any groups after that one, hehe.

Another instance was on one of my top-end scrappers. My Spines/Super Reflexes scrapper to be exact. I play him like a maniac, rushing ahead of everyone else, jumping the Archvillain when the group isn't ready, stuff like that. Only this time I had rushed up to Malaise, who cuts through my defenses like butter normally. He somehow missed me about 6 times in a row with his attacks, giving enough time for the rest of the group to get there and debuff him so I'd have a shot XD The team's tank was demoted to 'beta striker' and wasn't allowed to charge into groups after what I pulled. He wasn't a happy camper with me, lol.

Yet another was on one of my lower level characters, a Firey Melee/Super Reflexes scrapper. Ran a respec trial with a bunch of level 28s; I was level 24 at the time. I expected to die left and right but I only died three times in there, and got a nice hunk of experience from the whole ordeal. It was really fun, since we only had a willpower tank and frankly he couldn't keep standing up to the Sky Raiders for anything. So I had incoming aggro a lot, but managed to keep alive somehow and torch them (no pun intended)

Anyone else have stories to share? Moments you thought you'd keel over any second but you somehow made it?

Stunts? Not neccesarily, no. Rushing into a giant group when I should have hit my invisability first without thinking, or underestimating an Elite Boss? Tons of times...

Lemme get a rant sentance off my chest first: A Brute is not a Tank, and if I hear one more teammate say "Send the Brute in first" I'm gonna reach through the Internet through my computer and punch them in the face.

But here's this scenario:
Me: (super strength brute) *sees one Rikti in a room from the doorway* Pffft, piece of cake. *charges in*
Rikti: Heh : Heh.
Me: ?? What? *turns around to find that there's at least seven other Rikti in the room right next to the door frame where I couldn't see them* OO AAAAAAA! *blasted to death* >< *string of swearwords*

With my Spines/Super Reflexes scrapper on Pinnacle before he reached level 50. Around level 38 I want to say possibly level 41 (but leaning more towards the 1st answer) I was in PI soloing level 41-43 Nemisis (*mumble about spelling*) anyways they were purple and with a few lieutenants in the groups and mobs of 3-5 at a time. I even took on a few Rikti in the area. This is the spot but the ferry just along the beach I went. Then at level 44 I was soloing monkies out on monkey island. Sure they are underlings now lessers I believe they are called but none the less level 50 and purple eek I could kill a few but they group up a lot and took me down so I decided to run crying

I couldn't believe I could solo either of those like that.

On my first tank Mace/Fire, I would always act like a blaster sweatdrop

My friends got so pissed at me that they wouldn't let me join thier team till I learned to tank ;_;

So I tried to solo this huge mission (They started it with me, then when we started to get deep, they left) and I got massacred, I had like 5-6 toggles on at level 24 razz

I've always done that with my Kat/Super Reflexes scrapper. Evern since lvl 3 in the sewers...

My favorite was when I was lvl 24 in a team with lvl 50's taking on Lusca. I was the only melee in the group so I was always up there attacking him/she/it. Suprisingly, I dodged all of it's attacks for 2 minutes straight without the Sk that 50's usually pass out. I stll died like 5 times afterwards, but it got me on a good respec trial team.

Then my 2nd favorite one is when I was around lvl 44 and was being Plvled (I know, bad me.) on 2x Exp weekend by my lvl 50 tank friend, and my lvl 46 Troller friend. I decided I would run with the Tank and help out when I could. Well, when he turns left and I turn right and aggro the lvl 52's, about 8 of them with a boss, I survived for 5 minutes before the tank saw me and decided to take them from me. In the end, I killed 4 minions and got the boss to about 1/4 health before I hit 1/2 health. It was nice. Super Reflexes have been my favorite Scrapper defense set since.

And I totally agree with LadyMasquerade about the Brute thing. My Dual Blade/Fire Aura Brute is a nice aggro-bot, but I'm not going to take the first wave of hits by myself to the point where I have to use Healing Flames every group I enter. =P

Pretty much anytime I solo. My main is a mind control/kin troller, so... yeah. sweatdrop Early on, not so great at soloing, but now that I can get endurance from enemies (can't think of what the move is called), I can solo pretty well now.

just had one of these moments today!

I was on my lvl 14 Warshade and decided to Solo a Warshade mission.
Well, got about 2/3s of the way done when I accidently flew into the next group with Three Quantum Gunners in it o.o;

Well, I ended up killing all three of them thanks to my human form attacks after I got stunned out of my Nova form. Got them to about 1/2 heal in Nova and killed them with Orbs of Death (I think that is what is is called) and one other PBAoE attack and the first hold you get. Enough to get me into Nova again and blast them all with two AoE attacks. Overall, I ended up with 1 health left. It was fun, but nerve racking for me...

One time me and a couple of other heroes went to fight Chimera. Well the bet was that can anyone there kill two of the mobs by themself with no ones help. Well being the scrapper that i am i took that bet and placed 2 mil inf to our team leader to hold. I teleported in and used Tenbrous Tentacles to hold teleport to agro the other group when both groups came in closer i use Tenebrous tentacles again then Invoke Panic. after that I used midnight grasp smite shadow puch and shiphon life and repeated. If my health got to low or endurance i used Healing Flames, Consume and Dark Consumtion. Well in the end i won the first group and half of the second until Chimera killed me so i lost 2 mil in inf. O well mabey next time

The one time I tried a Khan TF, I tanked Invulnerable Reichsman for about 5 minutes until he lolhax ganked me...
That was pretty sweet.
Later that Task Force, I tanked four AVs at once.
