It was briefly touched on, but can I just bring up the double standard thing for tattoos and piercings?

One of the ladies on here said that her boyfriend gets comments because of his tattoos more than hers, and that is so true.

My mom once said that if I got a tattoo she'd kill me, then my sister (younger than me by four years, and definitely their favourite child) goes out and gets one without telling them. It wasn't a small tattoo by any means.

Not a single word against her from either of my parents.

Same with piercings. I've seen guys get turned away from job applications because they had one or two piercings, but then a girl with like, ten in each ear, gets the job.

I mean, I guess they might have had different qualifications to work at McDonalds, but still~

Does seem like it's only okay for women to be weird.

I really only have gotten people that are genuinely curious. Except for one of my grandmother's friends. Her granddaughters are pierced and tattooed too though. Can't imagine how she is with them. The old people are just so snobby and gossipy in our neighborhood.

My own family doesn't mind. They did at first but they got over it. Seems like a lotta people's parents or grandparents think it somehow changes the kind of people they are. I think at some point, depending how far I decide to go, they wouldn't be too happy. Not that they have any say over anything I do anymore.

My parent's are the ones I have issues with unfortunately. I just had the tip of my tongue done a few days ago and when my mother noticed it she got pretty furious. I of course am completely in love with it. (It's my first piercing other than your standard lobes.) But they've always been bitchy on the topics of tattooing and piercings.
