Welcome to the even NEWER GFG!

There have been some changes around here, which we'd like to make you all aware of before we set out this thread.

Firstly:
___Renaela is the new guild captain. LT transferred power over to the_gfg awhile ago, and since then, Renaela has really been running the guild through the mule. The mods came to a concensus that she should just switch captainship to herself and keep the_gfg as a mule account to be used in events and other such things.

We still miss LT, it looks like her life has really picked up, and as much as she loves the guild, Gaia cant be a priority for her anymore. We love you and miss you LT <3

Secondly:
___Not much is going to change; a few things here and there will have some minor changes, but nothing we're sure you all won't love.. so sit back, relax, and enjoy the forum!

------------------------------
Gaia Fashion Guild is open! Welcome everyone! This is the place to meet the Gaian Fashion Guild Crew and to give us some feedback. Please note that the Crew acts as Moderators for the thread and each Crew member has Mod status. We are here to help you, but please do not PM us unless it is an absolute emergency or you have otherwise been given permission. Instead, you can post your ideas, suggestions, complaints, feedback, etc., in this thread and a member of the crew will be sure to get back to you.

The Gaian Fashion Guild has moved to it's new home in Barton. Welcome back! We are finally ready to move full speed ahead.

Whenever we have a new update or something important to communicate to our members, we will update the subject above by including the date of the latest update.

This new Guild will have all of the features of the old Guild and then some (as soon as we get them up and running--which we eventually will...lol, but in the meantime, feel free to chat and open your own threads. Please make sure you read the GUILD RULES before you do though.

Please make yourselves at home in the guild and feel free to post any comments, questions or suggestions in the Feedback thread. Thanks!

THE RULES:

___Keep all topics fashion related.
___No spamming or flaming, spam is spam even if it is in white or small text.
___Be kind and constructive in the guild, not rude.
___Be respectful and tolerant of other people''s opinions and style.
___Check stickies/announcements often for updates.
___Read the thread you are posting in before asking someone what the thread is about, chances are that question
___had already been answered
___Do not use the term "gay" or any other derrogatory term in reference to style, outfits, or people.
___Refrain from making posts with only emoticons
___STAY ON TOPIC
___No thread topics should be made entirely in captial letters
___If you''re not a moderator, dont act like one
___UPDATE: If your post count in the guild does not change within the duration of a month, you will be banned for inactivity, unless you state that you lurk in the forum upon receiving a ban notification.

The rules are simple, so please do not break them! You are given multiple chances in this guild if you have broken rules but, if depending on severity, you have not corrected your behavior by the fourth warning, you can be temporarily or permanently removed from the guild.

Anything else?:
Read this, too.

By keeping topics "fashion related", this means you can post anything as long as it deals with fashion. Using a general definition, fashion includes: clothing, shoes, cosmetics, and hair. Topics relating to fashion, such as stereotypes/labels, your personal style, fads, etc. are also allowed.

Bumping topics is currently unneccessary. Comparing the amount of active members posting to the number of threads posted each day, nothing needs to be bumped. It will be considered spam.

If you need help on a quest - go to the charity thread here or take it out of the guild. We will make a post in the charity thread that has links to guild members quests.

Thanks for reading and complying - we''re just trying to keep the forum neat, organized and following some sort of order!

-----
If anyone has any problems, feel free to PM any of the crew about it.
If you''re a crew member and you need to add something to this, feel free to do so!

Guidelines for the Moderators:

Recently, we've accepted a lot of people into the guild and the daily post count is much higher then it was over the past month or so. We have more regular members, and this means increased responsibility.

There are rules for mods as well as there are for members, to keep things consistent and running smoothly. If you are a member and you feel a mod is being unfair, please alert one of the other moderators DIRECTLY (pm them with your problem).

As far as the guild goes, actions you MUST take as a moderator are:

1) If you see a thread that is a repeat, you MUST keep it open for atleast a day. Post in the thread explaining to the user why they can't have the thread and let them know that it will be locked. This lets all of the other mods know that someone has seen the thread. After the 24 hours, you MUST LOCK the thread. LOCK only!

2) Locked threads will not be deleted until they fall to the second or third page, providing other members who may be new with a look of 'what not to do'. If they see a locked repeat thread, it is more likely that they will not make a repeat thread.

3) Bannings: We haven't had to ban any members yet, but in the case of having to ban a member, they will be given a PM notification as to why they are being considered for a banning. {They would probably be expecting this, seeing as members recieve up to four warnings before a banning is considered} We will give them time to respond to the accusations we present. We do not want to ban anyone unfairly.

4) For threads that are complete spam:
They're not allowed in this forum... We already have a few threads we have let be spam - the guild's Cafe and an actual thread for spam. Encourage users to post in those instead. This thread is to be LOCKED IMMEDIATELY after you post. Most of the time, spam threads are results of someone who didn't read the guild rules.

5) Accepting members:
Members are accepted based on the information they supply us with in their join request.

6) It is your overall responsibility to be calm, courteous, and helpful in every way possible to the members of the guild. Personal feelings {including friendships X3} about a person should not get in the way of modding.

Thanks for being helpful, guys! smile

General news:

Hello members,

So, as you look around within the next few days, weeks, or months you'll all notice a wide variety of changes coming to the gfg forum. We've completed the GFG Summer Cleaning with great success, and now we're moving onto bigger and better things to make the guild more enjoyable for you. We have many many projects in the works, so make sure that you take the time to read new announcements and new rules as we set them out.

As always, feedback on the changes is appreciated, so give it here if you'd like.

Thanks for your cooperation!

Once you become a member, please feel free to copy and paste the code for any banner into your siggy. We should have a smaller more convenient option as well in the upcoming weeks. Thanks for your patience and support.

Posting Images in the guild:
~Posting images is very much allowed in the guild. We do ask, however, that you dont post pictures that EXCESSIVELY stretch the pages. This makes the pages hard for some users to load/see.

Annoucement from August 19th
Wondering how to save that image from the Simulator, or take a shot of your inventory to post here?

Wonder no more!

How to save from an avatar simulator:
1) Open Microsoft paint
2) Click on image (its on the toolbar on top) then click on attributes
3) Where it says width and height - change them both to small numbers, like 1-10.
4) Hit okay and minimize paint.

5) Go to the simulator and make the picture you want to use in the post (put together the outfit you want to show everyone).
6) Hit the Print Screen button (if you have a laptop its by the "delete" button, if you have a regular keyboard, its right next to F12.
7) Click to open paint back up and hit CTRL + V, or, right click and select paste.
8] Using the crop tool, select the part of the picture with the avatar you want in it (try to select it right around the avatar, so it's small).
9) Hit CTRL+C - or right click and select copy.
10) Go to File, then new.
11) right click and select paste or hit CTRL + V
12) Save file.

Uploading it:
13) Go to an image hosting site (tinypic.com - don't have to sign up or photobucket.com - you create an account to put all your pictures in - both free)
14) Hit browse, and select the file you just saved, then click open.
15) Click upload/host picture.
16) Copy (CTRL + C or right click>copy) the code that has the User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. How to take an inventory shot and post it:

Exactly the same, only you must go to your profile (duhh xp ).

How to post any picture:

1) Go to an image hosting site (tinypic.com - don't have to sign up or photobucket.com - you create an account to put all your pictures in - both free)
2) Hit browse, and select the file you just saved, then click open.
3) Click upload/host picture.
4) Copy (CTRL + C or right click>copy) the code that has the User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

What can we do to make this a better member experience for you?

Please post below and let us know your suggestions, comments, questions and gripes.

Member Referrals

Have a friend or know of someone that would be a perfect addition to the guild? Refer them! The procedure is similar to that of the old referral thread.

What you need to do: Read the rules below. If the person you're thinking of referring fits those guidelines, then go ahead and continue in the steps that follow the rules. If not, it was worth a try anyway. We're always looking for new members that will be interested and active in the guild.

Reccomendation Guidelines:

1] Would the person be an active part of the guild community?
2] Would they be joining primarily because they're interested in fashion (sure, its okay if you refer your friends, but we want INTERESTED friends)
3] Would the person be able to read and follow the guild rules to the best of their ability?
4] Would the person be able to contribute meaningful discussion into threads?

If at least 3 of the questions above are answered with a yes, then go ahead and PM one of the mods with the following information:

1. Your username
2. The EXACT username of the person you are referring
3. Why you are referring them

If it is simpler, you can also tell your friends about this place and have them fill out a request form to join.

Thank you

Guild News Updates:

11*20*2005 - There have been two new subforums purchased for the guild - an events subforum, and a subforum for the GFG magazine. The magazine subforum will be used for the publication of each issue of the GFG mag, and the events subforum will be used for events happening in the guild. We urge you to check both out and volunteer your services for the GFG mag, or for the upcoming Christmas event. Angelina Lockhart has asked to be removed as a mod for lack of time for the guild. Thank you Angelina for all your hard work!

12*10*2005 - Banner and colors on guild's home page changed for winter.

07*07*2006 - Ahh...holy crap guys. A new subforum was purchased for the Crew Members of the GFG. If we later determine that it is not needed, we will change it to a Memorable Threads subforum.
Overhaul is in progress, I expect it to be done completely by the end of the weekend.
All members not posting for over a month will be banned, along with those inactive on Gaia for over a month.
    Stay tuned for more updates!
