I'm a complete idiot. Been on gaia almost 4 years and I fell for it.
Got a PM (1st thing I should have realized was that the name wasn't orange) saying Gaia was beta testing a linking system between mules to make trades more convenient.
Short version: I ended up giving my PW for 3 mules, with millions of gold worth of items. I screwed up, don't badger me, I know I'm stupid, gave my PW when gaia never asks for them (but it seemed logical to need to know if the mule accounts were really mine, but again, there's other ways to do that without putting in my PW and I'm dumb).
So this is a warning to other people.
Uhm...
Discuss: have you encountered this scam yet? (I don't know, I really don't care about the discussion parts)
again: Don't give me "gaia never asks for PW's" I alreaady friggen know and have been beating myself up over this all yesterday, last night, and now and probably for the next week.

Two were just a normal avatar saying they had a neat way to get free gold.
Another three said I had been reported for much swearing. [Me, swear? They gotta be ******** kidding me. I'm innocent!]
And the last one just thought I was an idiot and just asked for my log in info.
Normally I don't click on any links I get unless its from people I trust.

The though of gaia coming up with an easier way to trade between mules seemed like a plausible thing that they'd do. *shrugs* My fault, I'm blaming no one else.
I've already done all the reporting I can do, Shirley. There's no way I wouldn't. If not for me, then for Gaia to stop them from doing it to anyone else.
