eek Seriously. Never. Artists get like 1% of royalties plus they have to pay back an average of 500k recoupable account(A.K.A. a loan) per album to the record company, but they have to completely pay off the recoupable account first(paying it all off with only the 1% of royalties they're getting) before they see a spec of there money.

Yeah, but when you're making billions off each album, 1% starts to look pretty good.

That's after 4 or 5 years. Before that they have to sell almost 1 million records per album before they break even.

but if they are so lucky as to write their own songs and produce them then they make more on the royalties
