This is a thread to discuss a petition- how it will be written and what aspects it should address.
The Entertainment Discussion forum is a highly spammed forum- take a look at it in comparison to some of the other forums near it. None of them have as many off topic threads as Entertainment Discussion does.
There is a new member quest- which teaches new members how to buy things in shops, vote in polls, and post a thread.
The thread it takes them to is Entertainment Discussion. We should ask for the quest to take them to the Chatterbox- or a forum made specifically for the quest. The forum made specifically for the quest could be a subforum off of the Welcome to Gaia forum, or the quest could lead the new members to the Welcome to Gaia forum.
It should be explained to them that the Chatterbox is the forum for spam and random threads- all other threads are for (mostly) serious discussion.
Twilight should have its own subforum (Because Twitards are most annoying creatures)
It will not completely eliminate the spam made by those who love Twilight- but it should decrease it. The subforum should be for both the books and movies.
We can't even defend our forum- we get reported for saying the words: Reported, Wrong forum, or directing them to the Sticky. The thread doesn't get dealt with- but us who are fighting spam do. There's something wrong here.
Discuss: This petition- how it should be written out/handled/what needs to be added to it. We need someone who can make banners about this petition- to get it noticed.

I definitely agree that we should bring up the Twilight issue in the petition. It's discussed enough so yes, I think it should have its own subforum. The two stickies just don't cut it. Not only do the twitards not see it, but I highly doubt they bother to even look.
With the new user quest, I do like the idea that they make a forum specifically for it. Maybe a subforum off of the Welcome to Gaia forum, or just use the WtG itself. I don't know what went through their heads when the Gaia Co decided to send the little newblets into the EntD. It makes no sense whatsoever.
About the banners...I'm not highly versed in Photoshop at all, but I'll try to come up with something. Can't promise it'll look brilliant though, but if I can get something to you that works, then we could use it until we find someone else who knows more about the program to make one.

I think we also need to mention how the mods are rarely on and hardly ever do their jobs...I don't know if it's just that there isn't enough of them, or if it's because they are motivated enough, but it took them forever to actually do something today. Sometimes threads that should be moved, aren't CB'd until hours later, even days. It's a bit ridiculous.

We can't even defend our forum alsoI don't know why they decided to post that new sticky about how we couldn't even redirect people. I mean, you can tell people not to post in a thread and just let it die off, but they're not gonna do it. There's no way you can get everyone to shut up. Besides, they say it's not going to be tolerated anymore, but they're never online to do anything about it, so that new thread is an automatic failure. You can't just tell people to do something and expect them to do it if you're not willing to stand up, be the authority figure and actually enforce the rule itself.

They ask us not to fight the spam- because it keeps that forum at the top of the page. But the spammers just continue to spam in other threads and their own!

Thank you, the more banners the better. Most people are very visual and a banner will grab their attention about our petition.
Twilight spam will never be able to completely be controlled. Until all the hype dies down and the Twitards grow up.
