Colourblind Rainbows This is a thread to discuss a petition- how it will be written and what aspects it should address.
The Entertainment Discussion forum is a highly spammed forum- take a look at it in comparison to some of the other forums near it. None of them have as many off topic threads as Entertainment Discussion does.
There is a new member quest- which teaches new members how to buy things in shops, vote in polls, and post a thread.
The thread it takes them to is Entertainment Discussion. We should ask for the quest to take them to the Chatterbox- or a forum made specifically for the quest. The forum made specifically for the quest could be a subforum off of the Welcome to Gaia forum, or the quest could lead the new members to the Welcome to Gaia forum.
It should be explained to them that the Chatterbox is the forum for spam and random threads- all other threads are for (mostly) serious discussion.
Twilight should have its own subforum (Because Twitards are most annoying creatures)
It will not completely eliminate the spam made by those who love Twilight- but it should decrease it. The subforum should be for both the books and movies.
We can't even defend our forum- we get reported for saying the words: Reported, Wrong forum, or directing them to the Sticky. The thread doesn't get dealt with- but us who are fighting spam do. There's something wrong here.
Discuss: This petition- how it should be written out/handled/what needs to be added to it. We need someone who can make banners about this petition- to get it noticed. This sticky exists to offer a permanent place to discuss Colourblind Rainbows petition, as outlined above. Help clean up Gaia, help the petition.

I don't really have any qualifications or know what it should even say yet xd
In the end- we will just need banners that look interesting and can link users to our petition.

I'll make use of the massive amounts of writing I've done in my life to give proper wording to the petition, if you like. Just give me a general idea of what we want and I can do the rest.
As for banners... I've got a pet tech geek who may be able to do that for us.

I think all the topics covered in the first post should be what we will make the petition about.

I support this petition. Cleaning the forums would make Gaia a much better online community. We can't control the actions of others, but we can inform them about the effects of trolling, flaming, and spam on Gaia. This is an excellent way to start! Bravo!
PS: I have an old friend who can make banners, but I'm not even certain if she's still on Gaia. I can try to contact her via Facebook for you.

Oh, oh! I'm pretty well versed in Photoshop graphics(or, at least I like to think I am) so I'll try making a banner once my schedule clears up a bit.
On the petition, I read the other thread as well. Though Gaia's forums will never be void of spammers and the typical threads that annoy a handful of folks I support whatever is possible to help it get cleaned a little. I wasn't aware a quest lead newbies to the Entertainment Discussion, but it explains a lot. Beyond me why they thought that would be appropriate... But as someone also said I believe we should keep the Twilight subforum part in a separate petition. Much as a I loathe those little Twitards it's better to face Gaia with just one thing at a time.

Twilight subforum will be a separate petition as you have suggested. That petition will be available tonight and I will post it here so that all can sign.
Thank you for your help, if this petition is successful in gaining signatures then the other petition should be active by next week.
