The plan was working just fine. Silver never missed. She didn't stay still, either. A sitting duck was a dead duck, and she prefered not to be a dead duck.
She fired, destroying another ship, and started to move again.
Her ship didn't budge.
She tried again, with the same results. "Sir, my ship's malfunctioning..." She said, keeping the tremble out of her voice as best she could. Dew gathered at her temples and the back of her neck.
Then the bleeping noise began.
bleepbleepbleepbleepbleepbleepbleepbleep~ Her eyes widened, and Touya noticed something- she was in casual clothes. She'd had no time to change into flight suit, or to grab her helmet.

bleepbleepbleepbleepbleepbleepbleepbleep~, A large sweat dropped in from Touya's forehead... 'Crap...'
He switched his comms to his other members... "Don't stop the assault... the enemy will take notice of the plan. I'll go back to Silver!", and pulled out his ship out of formation, and after pulling into course, pulled in with full thrusters.
Not yet satisfied with the swift pull on him by a Mach 17.8 he yanked the yaw throttle and made the M4 spiral through space - like an arrow fleeting from it's launcher... it's speed reached Mach 20, and is slicing space in a heated envelope... 'Hang in there, Silver...'
He opened his comms for Silver's private channel... "Silver... calm down. I'm on my way. Don't panic - and stay on that coordinate."
"Ha--hai! Shousa!", Silver responded. Her voice already suggesting fear and anxiety.
His ship soon entered the 4 click zone to where Silver's is located. He saw the stagnant M4 floating in it's free space - a dead tombstone in the vast nothingness.
"Silver... whatever you do - don't open your cockpit windows... keep it's metal shutters locked. ... I'm gonna take you out of there."
Silver responded, "But... how? I didn't have any suits on... my helmet... "
"At least reach out for the helmet... I'm gonna slice the cockpit out of the M4!", Touya drove in to Silver's M4 and spiralled in, shooting Silver's M4's neck while pulling in the transform lever. The M4 grew arms and in a clockwise corkscrew caught the freed cockpit. The Legs ejected in and kicked out the remaining M4 debris out of the way.
Touya's M4 continued it's cruise speed until it reached a distance far enough to be called safe should the rest of Silver's ship blow up.

It didn't blow, but he did miss getting shot by about... Two femtometers. One of the M4's, Mithril's by it's markings, rocketed over.
"I'll take her." The Captain said, more of an order than a simple statement. Touya noticed most of the teachers- Rithvur a rare exception- were doing retrievals of cadets whose ships were damaged, or who couldn't keep fighting. "Is she injured? No? Then I'll see if she'd like a better P.E.T. to fight in. If not, then your down a member, but it shouldn't hurt you to much."
Looking around, it was clear what she meant. the shipds that had been hit hardest were blinking out, the ships that had been in units with the down and out going as well. A sharp eye would note a distortion around the ships, much like that of a Door to Hyperspace, but Doors were stationary, the equipment was simply to delicate to actually enter the dimension that allowed matter to travel at speeds faster than light.
Several squads remained though, about in equal strength to the raw recruits.

Neo looked at where she was pointed and headed that way. He saw where he was going, but he was sure that was not all. "When do I use the ship he said." Neo looked around at the better ships, but he just hoped that his was fast. He lived speed and agility.

Touya let go of Silver's cockpit and shoved it near Mithril's. "Youkai!", he responded to the radios and cut the signal short. He had to go back to where his teammates are - posthaste.
He made the M4 revert back to it's fighter state and reversed course. He opened the two's private channels and talked to Maxwel, "Maxwel... what's the status?"
Maxwel answered, "Most of the ships gone with their tails bet'un their legs. Though - there are those hard-headed geeksheetz that preferred to stay... And they are a lot tougher than most of demz here."
Touya nodded, "Okay... thanks for the info - Pnp!", he switched his channels.
"Moi?", Pnp looked back at the HUD and threw a flying kiss.
Touya raised a brow and looked clueless, "Huh... what's moi?"
"It's french shounen-shousa! It's the language of LURVE!"
He felt his hand tense in and, without orders, move slowly, like possessed to cut out his connection with the dreamy-pilot. He sighed and quitted the possessed gig. He had a favor to ask.
"Ummm... Pnp... I want you to sing."
"Sing?!? Sing - lurve songs to you~?"
"Ehhhm - sing to the private freak - full bust."
"Oh~ I knew where you got this - shounen... I watch this all the time~"
Touya nodded, "Yes... please. Sing that song on - "
"Does it have an 'S' on the title?"
"Yes... well~"
"Two 'S'-es?"
"Yeah... You should sin-"
"An 'R' - a 'C' - an 'A' - an 'M'?"
"WOULD YOU QUIT THE CHASE!!! YOU ALREADY KNOW IT!", Touya screamed out of irritation.
Pnp smiled a bit and gave a small laugh, "Youkai~ shousa~!"
As he was about to close his comms he heard Pnp's harsh shrill on ... more like a cacophonous cawkings of a depraved bird. It's lyrics were from a show 'Macross' which had been on air this few weeks on Galactic Academy waveband.
Touya continued to close the comms before his ear gets broken, 'Now where did she got the idea I was thinking of that flick... I was thinking on the lines of Mars Attacks...'
*shounen - in this lines, it meant 'handsome boy or pretty boy'

His was fast, to his surprise, his was one of the top ships in the whole Federation. The newest model of P.E.T., specially fitted with weponry that could be used on exploration missions to cut through things, or destroy astroids that could severely damage a ship. They had lesser sheilds, good for deflecting stray matter and skim shots with the lasers when they missed. It was a top plane, the best. The ultimate ship that racers had been waiting for since developement began. Fast, agile, and top-of-the-line sights.

there was a subben bustle on the enemy frequeny, a random collection of clicks and hissess that sounded harsh and perhapse aggravated. Although one set seemed to be enjoying the sound, trying to immitate it... What might have been a severley mis-pronounced "My boyfriend is a pilot" fell in with Pnp's singing.
Maxwel uttered a prayer to whatever gods where listening that they didn't learn to sing from Pnp's horrendous rendition. (Or at least, he tried to, he was stifling laughter and horrified chokings that could have been tears)

Neo took a glance and noticed the ship. "Oh my god." He gave a large gasp and almost fainted. His knees almost buckled from under him. "This is incredible. I am driving this?" Neo brushed his fingers against the ships exterior and felt the metallic alloy. "This is beautiful. The weaponary is also incredible." Neo wanted to jump and take the ship for a test spin, but he didn't want to seem to eager.

"We're putting as many of the aces in them as we can," The student replied, smiling. The reaction could scarecly be called uncommon. "She's preped to fly, sir--" He paused, putting a hand to his ear. "I've just been informed you'll have to suit up. There are flight suits and helmets through there. They're taking less risks now that they know the enemy has weak spots. A squad, Hugi, is doing particularly well, though they just lost a pilot." There was a clatter as a ship landed in the next hangar over and another as it left.

Upon reaching Maxwel's point Touya contacted him via private comm channels, "Hey - Max... What's up?"
Maxwel appeared on his HUD and replied, sounds of Pnp's horrid operatic lamentations echo his ship, "Why totally great, Shousa! Here that pain-effecting sound - totally rocks the house... and bleeds the ears!", his voice were broken with small chuckles and snorts, he kept like this, cheering on the pain Pnp had brought to all in comm range.
Touya took his hands and cupped his ears. He cringed at the metal scrapings he heard from Maxwel's line... "Put it out for a while will you?"
Maxwel touch the mute knob on his and continue, "Uhurmm - so what's the next move, shousa?
Touya spoke straight, "Let's go all-out."
"YEAH!! What I've always wanted to hear!", Maxwel said.
Suddenly he saw an errant M4 lighting up on the Academy Base. 'Still not moving?'
Touya immediately contacted the M4, "Bakaramezo~ omae wa... "
The M4's auto-translation threw letters on it's screen.I see a loafer~ and there he is... He came back to Maxwel, "Hey Max, pull out that lever on your right, about mid-way up and near the red panic-button."
Maxwel pulled it and shifted it to 'B'. His M4 changed into a mechanoid holding an assault rifle, "Cool! - and I used to think B means 'Butthead'..."
Touya nodded, "Uh-huh - I thought it meant 'back'. They really do made M4s to go reverse now, did they? Let's go!"
The two M4s move in the nearest team of four and danced the stars. What Maxwel digs and smacks with rifle, Touya fires on in the head. What Touya kicks on the umm- fish-belly, Maxwel spots with a burst-shot.
"Hey, shousa - someone like Pnp... only an enemy.", a circle appeared on both HUDs. "You always wanted to shoot her... I know you wanna...", teased Maxwel.
"Let's leave that unit for now... clear everything up in it's surroundings then well disable it."
Maxwel sighed. "Ah... the pacifistic non-chalant way... ", he grins evilly, "...nominate me for the interrogation then, will you? shousa?"
Touya laughed, "I know you'd see it my way."

Neo smiled at the student and went to get dressed. He was finished a minute later and came back out looking ravishing. "I love ships." he said to himself. While he walks, he gives the student a glance and turns back. "So, when will I take this baby for a ride?"

Neo smiled and jumped onto the ship and was filled with excitement. He strapped himself down and shut everything. "Anything I need to know before I set off." Neo put on his headset and his gear. He starts powering up the ship and the weapons. He murmurs to himself, "fuel is full, weapons are powered, wings are operating, headset is..on, and engines are a go."

Touya zoomed in his radars and included only those near to the Pnp Hack. There were six in all. He decided to attack the farthest of them so that the Hack will least notice. "Maxwel - the farthest - we have to get this done quick..."
The two approached the messed shark and with two strokes - almost albeit in a simultaneous brutally synchronism - smashed the engine chassis and the cockpit via burst shots from their rifles. "Booyah~! Friggin Fish-mongers!", Maxwel shouted out as the shark experience total shock from the quick attack.
