((back!))

Taakay laughed and smiled at Moranis as they walked down the hallway to the main gate, enchanted by the idea of secluded waterfalls and shadowy forests. She certainly did understand how other students might be suspicious of the MasterWeaver's son reporting them, but Moranis was the only boy she knew around here and she had gambled all of her trust on him not abandoning her, which they had both won on, and so now she would follow him anywhere with trust. Just as she was flirtingly following his guiding hand. Her daypack was a little heavy on her shoulder, and she adjusted it absent-mindedly to a more comfortable position as she heard the same knock. "Hm... Best investigate..."

Though her arm was released from the weaver boy's protecting grip, Taakya still followed curiously after him, almost as if she was still connected. Standing back from the path of the doorway, she peered out as the sight of the familiar hill greeted her once again. The green-clothed sight of a girl that met her was odd enough. But as soon as the girl opened her mouth it just got odder. Though she firmly doubted the pathetic nature of the girl's request, false flattery never fell well with her, she bit her lip and smiled warmly at Caelten and her gold.

She stepped to the side, falling alongside Moranis, her hand accidently brushing his again as she moved out of the holdless girl's way. Her voice was not necessary in this situation and so a word out of her was not something Caelten should expect. Taakya may have been getting a little braver in her adventuring with Moranis, but she was still not used to speaking to strangers.

Gem trilled her greeting, but stuck to Caletin's shoulder, the emotions tat she was feeling and how she was acting worried the fire lizard and she wanted to stay close to her.

Caletin did another very slight bow, "Thank you for your generosity." She looked to the person that had come out and joined the man she was talking to, she also bowed her head very slightly before starting to walk inside. The sooner she got what she wanted, the sooner she could leave and be on her way. Her eyes examined every brick and every face. If her mother or siblings were there, she was toast for sure, if there were signs or anyone got any papers about her, she might be okay. It was nearly six turns ago and she had changed a bit.

((people!!!))

"It is not my generosity but that of MasterWeaver Emoraan. He insists that we have extra clothing for holdless and holders alike. Take your time to explore the hall. Most of the guards and watch are friendly. We actually have a Master in charge of mending and handling clothing if you want his name." Moranis gave her his widest grin and returned her slight bow.

Moving closer to Taakya, he felt warm and fuzzy when she bumped into him and stayed close. He grabbed for her hand and gave it a little tug. His back was starting to weigh a little heavy on his shoulders.

"Just tell them that Moranis let you in and everything should be okay. I suppose we will see you later; we are off to explore the waterfalls."

It was always good to let someone know where you were going...just in case. And if this girl was to be wandering the Weaver Hall, then she could let the information drop.

Taakya felt reassured by the pressure of Moranis's hand gripping her own. Her dark eyes shifted as she returned the nod to the girl, continuing to watch her, as only a holdless should expect. She seemed tense, overly so to such a welcoming place, and her firelizard was reflecting similiar emotions of the girl. Nevertheless, Taakya didn't worry, there was nothing to worry about in the Weaver Hall.

She followed his tug, nodding her thanks to the girl for the assumption that she would inform the Hall as to where they had gone just in case. With that a smile spread across her face as she took a step farther on their way, hoping to encourage Moranis to do the same.

Moranis took a step towards Taakya. He wanted to make sure the stranger was going to be okay; it was in his nature to take care of others. But he had given her proper instruction and was free of his duty.

"Good day. If need be, ask for the MasterWeaver. Tell him that Moranis sent you."

Waving goodbye, Moranis turned back to his companion. "I am ready. Let's go."

Taakya nodded again, smiling secretly up at Moranis and speaking softly to him, "She'll be fine, all weavers are helpful remember?" Her gaze drifted back through the Hall doors once more to make sure that the girl wasn't attempting to ask them something, and then slipped completely out of the Hall and into the dazzling sunlight. "Alright then, where are we off to? You're leading this expedition remember? I just carry the pack." She laughed, a soft giggle that failed to reflect the girliness that would be expected. With a shrug of her shoulder, she heisted said pack more comfortably, looking towards the weaver boy expectantly.

"The springs are towards the south of the hall and hold. It will take us about half a day to get there but it is worth it. There are so many amazing sounds and sights. I go there to think sometimes."

Holding tight onto her hand, Moranis took them back out of the Hall and Gate. Then it would be onward to the springs!

Caleten found her way around mostly by luck, avoiding people as much as she could. This environment was unsettling, each weaver tool reminded her of home, a place that was a nightmare, not a distant dream. Her sharp eyes look around and she glues to the walls using the rues of being shy to cloak her as much as her heavy clothing does.

Gem nudges her friend's cheek and trills softly, to comfort her.

Caleten strokes her golden girl's head and keeps moving.

There were not too many people in the halls. Most were in their rooms or had already left for the towers to get word out to family. A four day holiday was always a treat in the hall.

Emoraan noticed an unfamiliar girl wandering around. She was not one of the Halls students nor did she look like any of the new Hall workers. Coming up quickly and quietly behind her, the MasterWeaver gave a slight cough.

"May I help you?"

Caleten nearly leapt out of her skin; however, with her tight grip on composure, she managed to not show it.

Gem on the other hand felt both her own startled state, but Caletins suppressed start. Squeaking loudly, she turned swiftly on her friends shoulders and chirped admonishly, her eyes spinning brightly.

Caleten turned quickly around and kept still otherwise, by the time Gem fully turned again, she would have calmed down. Remembering her role as a humble holdless person in search of generosity, she very lightly bowed her head and put out an apology, "I am sorry about my golden friend's behavior. We are holdless, most of my life and all of hers, proper behavior as not yet been tested out on her part." She blamed this male completely for all this trouble. Her pride felt like to was going to chew its way out of her throat all the times she had to swallow it.

Getting a look at the man's face, she felt like she might have seen him somewhere. Thinking rapidly, she tired to place him. Then she remembered hearing her mother talk about him, he was someone important, she was sure of that but didn't know exactly how.

Finishing her answer, keeping the behavior of tiring to find manners and her voice, "I was told outside that there might be some clothing to spare, all I have on is all I have. I was hoping to find something with causing anyone any trouble."

Emoraan studied her and her actions. He wondered if he should call Meekar to him but decided against it. The elder wanted to find out more about this girl and why she was acting so unusually.

Giving her a light smile, he held began to walk slowly. "I am Emoraan. I work within the Hall. Now is a good time to come for help, the Mending classes have just finished up the last of their clothing."

He paid no mind whether she followed or not but he still continued to speak. His eyes had a warmth to them; she was not the first to come here like this. Nor was she the first to come with a strong sense of independence. Many had stayed after coming to the hall while others had simply faded back into the forest.

"Master Jorman is in charge of the mending. I reckon if you find him, he will find something to fit you."

Thus far, her name had not been asked. As she followed this Emoraan, she covered her thinking by looking around in awe. What if her name was asked? If she told them her real name, the might reconise her name. If she told them a lie, it could catch up with her. Burning bridges was never a smart idea.

Concidering her options, she explored the all while keeping up the 'in awe' rues. There were two ways it would have gone, in an extreme case, her mother could have written or come over begging for help and said her name enough that if she said it, it might ring a bell. The other end of the specturm was that nothing came to this weaver hall, or that nothing was said at all and she was being overly cautious.

The other option, would be to lie and if she ends up coming back and doesn't remember the name and uses another. Taking herself out of her thoughts, she acuatlly starts to pay more attention.

Taakya nodded, taking in the information easily. She hoisted her pack once more onto her back, it becoming more of a habit then a necessity. The thought of a day's walk there and back did not trouble her, she had walked to this Hall hadn't she? That had been far more than half a day's walk, and she hadn't had anywhere near the proper supplies that they had now between them. Her imagination sparkled at the idea of such a gorgeous place and her hand slipped down to her side pack to make sure she had her sketch book and writing sticks, just in case. "It sounds wonderful Moranis!"

She blinked slightly in the bright sunshine, compared to the pleasently shadowed nature of the halls it seemed overwhelming. It was as if the sky had also sent the clouds on a holiday for the young weavers' enjoyment. It also seemed to Taakya that just the journey getting to the springs would be wonderfully beautiful, "You have a beautiful home Moranis, I'm simply amazed..."

She was a quick study, Emoraan decided. Sly and knowledge, practical in all ways about her. The little gold was quite the beauty and it was a good thing Meekar was not around. He wondered just how much of the Hall she knew about and how she knew here.

"We keep a record of all who come to the Hall and ask for help. After we get you fitted, we will need your name. Since you have no Hall or Hold, you will go under holdless. I doubt you come from the weyr, they take very good care of their own."

Still moving forward, he made his way towards the central staircase. If he knew Master Jorman, and he did, the old man was most likely in his rooms.

"I never really stop to look at it but I guess it is beautiful here. I guess you never really appreciate something until someone else points it out to you."

He held on tight to Taakya's hand as they began to follow the trail into the forest. His eyes held excitement at the adventure they were taking. Without thinking, Moranis blurted out, "I am really glad I met you."
