((that is the best description ever!! J/K))

Emoraan quickly made his way back to the WeaverHall. It was different than the different holds he had worked in. But now, here it was...his own hall. His broad chest swelled with pride. But only for a moment, because he was a humble man who knew that his work was much more important than he was...

So much to do and so little time. It did not take long for Hatching to occur and to create the precise shade of gold needed to compliment Ariath...for that he would need:

"MORANIS!"

His bellow was a deep and resounding one. It echoed off the walls until it reached the ears it was intended for...his son, Moranis.

"Yes, father?"

He looked so much like his wife, Yllaria...but those thoughts must be pushed back. They would only hinder his work; his beautiful and strong wife who could not survive the illness. Emoraan gave a quick huff.

"I need your clean eye for color and mind for mixing. I need you to create the color gold...not just any gold...but dragon gold. It is to be a tribute to Ariath and Ephia for their very first Hatching."

Giving a half salute, the boy gave his sire a grin. "Yes, sir!" And then he was off and running.

Turning back to the hall, he realised that many more of his apprentices and journeymen were at the candidate lessons and sands than he realised. So much to do...he wondered if he could convince L'cian to allow some of the new weyrlings to keep their craft so that the vests could be constructed.

"Lighter, but stronger..."

That was the problem. What material could be used that was light and strong?

A blut flit popped into the Weaver Hall chipring madly as he looked for the person his owner had sent him to find. A small scroll was clutched in his tiny claws as he zipped through the new Hall in search of the Master Weaver Emoraan.

Emoraan looked up at the flit who came flying into the Hall. Not recognizing the flit, he held out a hand. He had Meekar, his brown flit, around someplace..most likely with Moranis. "Come here, little one."

He tried to send a strong mental image of the flit landing on his arm.

((aww... I can't play here... Remia's at the Weyr. Hm. Can I play her dad and mom here? and older sister when she comes to visit...))

(As long as they are suppose to be here then yes you can RP them only when your character visits since they are NPC's)

Fugue looked to the arm invisioned to him and happily landed on it, though the end of his tail twitched considerably in excitement. When the Master Weaver took the scroll from him the little flit chirped proudly. Yet another letter he had delivered successfully.

A scripty scrawl graced the open scroll in the Master's hands.

Master Weaver Emoraan,

I have managed to persuade dear Ariath away from her eggs for a short time. I will arrive in two days time when the sun has reached it's highest point so that everything can be assured for the gown you have planned. If you are unavaliable that day or time please let me know when my prescence is acceptable.

The MasterWeaver read over the paper once and nodded. Two days when the sun is at its highest. Perfect, that should give Moranis enough time to figure out hwo to make queen gold. In the meanwhile, he would have to find a suitable material. Taking a random pencil he scribbled on the back of the note.

Weyrwoman Ephia,

That is fine. I hope you and your queen are in good health. I shall see you then. Give my regards to Weyrleader L'cian.

MasterWeaver Emoraan

Rolling it back up and tying it with a piece of string, Emoraan held out the parchment for the blue flit. Putting the picture of the little one taking it from him, Emoraan spoke outloud. "Take this back Ephia. To your mistress."

Fugue tilted his head momentarily as the image was portrayed to him. Taking the scroll he chirped before popping into /between/.

((sorry! The phone company did something to the line yesterday and everyone was without phone service! All I can afford is dail-up! But, I am fast forwarding!))

Emoraan looked at the hour marker in his office. It would soon be marking the sun's apex and Ephia was a woman to always be on time. His son had outdown himself this time, creating such a splendid gold that it dazzle the eyes just to look at it.

As for the cloth, he chose a simple pattern. The MasterWeaver quickly recognized that Ephia did best in simple patterns that showed off her fine lines. Humming one of the Teaching songs to himself, he moved into the main rooms to await his prestigious visitor.

The day was turning out to be beautiful and Ephia was much looking forward to her trip to the Weaver Hall. A bit of time away from the Weyr was always a treat, though Ariath was thinking otherwise.

We musn't be long.

"Don't worry, Dearheart. No one will bother your eggs." Ephia replied as she ran a brush through ebony locks.

Ariath poked her head into the weyr one of her faceted eyes gazing at the Weyrwoman. When did I agree to go to the Weaver Hall?

Ephia laughed. "Two days ago." Tossing a lock of hair, she had been untangling a knot from, behind her back she rose from her seat. Instead of the usual gowns she wore around the Weyr she sported beige hide pants and a loose blue tunic with a warm, fur-lined, jacket as the same hue as her pants for between. "Tallith will keep watch over the eggs I am sure. He won't let anything happen to them. A candlemark or two from the Weyr won't bring any harm to your dragonlings."

Ariath withdrew her head from her weyrmate's weyr, careful not to disrupt the new coat of oil that Ephia had placed on her earlier that day.

The Weyrwoman placed her gloves on as Ariath lowered her body and positioned her front foot just right so that Ephia could position herself on her queen's neck. Once the riding straps were secure Ariath took little time to drop from her ledge. Pinions thrust outward to stop the swift decent before the couple circled up and out of the Weyr Bowl and into open air.

Relaying a clear image of the Weaver Hall to the mighty queen Ephia commanded the jump and the two dissapeared to the cold of between.

----------------------------------------------------------

Bursting from the bitter coldness Ephia and Ariath appeared within the sky above the Weaver Hall. The sun was just reaching it's peak in the sky at the time as Ariath lazily floated down to the ground before landing gracefully on the barren land.

Detaching herself of the riding straps, Ephia slipped off of Ariath, shedding the extremely warm fur-lined jacket and glooves. The hear to f the southern continent rarely called for such attire but for a dragonrider thick hide pants and fur lined jackets were much needed for the time between.

The watchdragon bugled a welcome that Emoraan could have only assumed was for Ephia and Ariath. Moving out of the main hall and heading up to meet his esteemed guests, for once the man's face showed some emotion. He quickened his pace and came out into the clearing that was mainly for smaller dragons. He noted that Ariath landed just outside the hall.

"Greetings gold Ariath! Your coats gleams beautifully in the sun. I hope that you rest well while here and I promise not to keep your rider for too long. And good day to you, Lady Ephia. I have the fabric and pattern all set for you to see."

He waited for her, trying to not tremble with excitement. It had been a long time since he had the pleasure of showing off his skill with needle and thread. It was mainly touch-up jobs and random peices that came to his hall. With the exception of the jackets. Emoraan tried to remember if he spoke to her of such things, then decided they could speak of the matter later.

Once rid of the heavy garments Ephia turned at the voice of the Master Weaver.

Ariath rumbled softly at the comments which only caused Ephia to chuckle and pat the oiled hide of her Weyrmate. "Ariath thanks you and does hope that you don''t keep me too long. She wishes to get back to her eggs as quickly as possible." Ephia shook her head. "Thank you for having me today. Ariath has been rather protective of her clutch and prying her away from them for any amount of time has been a challenge within itself, but I am quite excited to see the material you have for me. An inspiration from Ariath shall be a wonder to see."

"I shall not keep you long, Weyrwoman. I just need your measurments very quickly and the dress will surely follow." Emoraan paused in his stride and waited for the shorter to catch up to him.

Turning into a rather large room on the left, he bowed ever so slightly. "My work space, m'lady."

There were lengths of cloth all around the room, along with different vats full of dye and a rather small desk for a rather large man. On the desk were several scraps of paper, bone needles, and what looked like a very old meatroll.

Huffing, he looked away. "When I am sewing or caught up in an idea, it is hard for me to focus on anything else. And I don't like my room to be arranged without me there to see where everything gets moved. Moranis!"

From a side door, the lanky youth appeared, holding the golden cloth ever so delicately. He moved towards his father and the weyrwoman, clearly in awe of being in her presence. Holding out the clothe, he muttered more to himself than to the two adults, "It took me a while to figure out this color, but it does gleam so...even when the fabric moves..."

And he moved it ever so slightly for Ephia to see. Emoraan stood there, puffed with pride. "My youngest son is very clever with colors."

"I much enjoy my time from the Weyr. A little enjoyment for myself is always a lovely change." She chuckled softly as they moved into the Hall and to the Master Weaver's working area.

Green eyes gazed around taking in the messiness but she didn't make any comment on it. She knew what could happen when one got to abosrbed in their work. Her own weyr had turned into a mess when the need of finding a record occured.

When the material was presented Ephia took in a sharp breath. Beauty was a sad word to describe the liquid gold in front of her. Carefully she held out a hand, tenderly touching the cloth that danced in the light. It matched Ariath's hide so well in hue and it was wonderful to the touch. A gown made out of such gorgeous material would be a treasure.

"It's gorgeous! You did a wonderful job with it. How you managed to produce such a color out of material I'll never know, but it will be a lovely gown indeed." Withdrawing her hand she looked to the Master Weaver. "I am very glad Ariath had inspired you so. I have never seen such a color in material before."

Emoraan chuckled and patted his youngest on the back. "That is Moranis's doing. I do not know how he does it, but he manages to find just the right ingrediants to make the right colors. As for the material, I have been waiting for the right time to use it."

Moving to his desk, the MasterWeaver moved things around for a minute beforing making a nod to himself. He held up a piece of cord that he used for measuring and motioned for the boy to move back. Moranis gave him a glance and moved back.

"My apologies, Weyrwoman. I must take your measurements and then I may have the dress done in a night or two. I need you to get down to the basics and stand on that stool please."

He motioned to a stool that was in the light of a window. The sun shone through, casting the stool in its light. Moving over towards the light, he murmured reassuringly. "Do not worry, m'lady. None shall see you in your under garments...we are too high up. I just need you to stand as straight as possible with your arms out and I can have this done in a jiffy. Boy, get something to scribe her measurements on...and be careful with that material."

Emoraan wanted to add on, 'It was your mother's.' But he did not want to reveal that he was giving up something so personal. Nodding at Ephia, he waited for her to move into position.
