(Right, I edited my description of you ^_^.)
The man looked on cautiously as the guards ran off to the source of the cry. He saw his chance and followed the woman onto the palace grounds, ever sticking to the shadows, he searched for an entrance into the palace where he would not be noticed, he spotted a group of servants chatting amongst themselves just by a back door to what looked like the kitchen.

He walked casualy out of the shadows and greeted them
"Why hello there. My I ask if you want to see a trick I have came up with?"
The servants nodded suspiciously.
"Brilliant."
He smiled cheekly and threw his cards all over the group. The cards stuck to their mouths and, without a hint of sound. The sevants collapsed onto the floor.
"Right, now that their out of the way."
He looked in and spotted a dark, quiet corner to rest. The magician smiled and layed down where he quietly fell into a deep slumber

Ark left the guards at the entrance to the training yards and went in search of her dinner. She made up her mind not to do any work tonight. She was going to do what she wanted to do or she was just going to go to sleep.

That in mind, she made her way to the kitchen and picked up a covered dish that was obviously waiting for her. Trudging back to her rooms with the dish, she ducked behind curtains, hid in nooks and corners, and did everything in her power to avoid people trolling the halls for her. She made it safely to her rooms with only one person capturing her with a brief question.

She slammed the door behind her and slid the plate onto a small table before the soldering embers in her fireplace. Adding some wood from a pile next to the fireplace, she stoked it up and placed her food on the warming rack above the fire. With a quiet sigh of relief, she went to her bedside table and picked up the book she hadn't read in three months. She settled in front of the fire and began her read. Not long after, she finished her food and fell asleep with the book still in her hand.

The snoozing magician awoke to the sound of shouting and the clash of pans and the hissing of boiling water. Looking out from his safe heaven in the shadows he noticed the chefs hard at work making breakfast for whomever rules this land.
"Hmmm, I'm slightly peckish myself"
As he said that, his shadow started to flex and change shape. It slitherd along the floor from shadow to shadow, biding it's time to find some food for it's waiting master. It spotted just what it was looking for, a large peice of meat that had just been unveiled and ready to be surved.
Waiting for the right moment, it stuck. With a sudden flash of speed the meat was gone. and the shadow gently creeped back to the hungry magician.
"Now, that's a good boy"
He pets the obidient shadow as it forms back into it's original shape whilst unloading it's payload upon it's master. After a delightful breakfast, the magician decides it's time to leave the palace and wander the streets once more, but just as he stepped out of the shadows an arm grabbed him. He looked up to see a man fully clad in armour with his blade at the ready.
"Um..... Greetings?"
And with a fierce tug, the magaician was dragged away to the dungeons.

Ark awoke to screeching.

For the briefest moment, she thought a human was being killed in her bedroom. Her next thought was that someone needed her help and was being extra loud about it. It took her almost a full minute of whatever it was screaming for Ark to realize that her door was locked and it was one of her ghosts. "Shut up..." her heart wasn't in it, the ghost wouldn't even understand the phrase.

Ark went to her wardrobe and got a different servant's robe out and replaced the one she'd fallen asleep in. As soon as she was ready, the ghost seized her arm and made dragged her straight to the dungeons, through walls and floors and everything else. The whole time it muttered three words at random, "Human.. Attached.. Abnormal..."

Down in the dungeon, Ark gave a nod to the guard on duty that she knew best. It took hardly any time at all to know about all the people currently in cells. There were only three. The latest had come in this morning, found sleeping in the kitchens. She knew she would have to visit them all. She decided to start with the most recent.

The man, bound in chains by the wall, beaten and bruised, was busy muttering to himself to even notice the guards glaring and spitting at him. He chuckled.
"My my, what a mess I have got myself into. What will be big bad guards do to such a fragile thing like me?"
The guards grumbled at the remark. Jesturing to their blades. But the man just looked at the floor and chuckled some more.
"You might want to mind your manners, someone seems to be coming. A woman."
The guards instantly stood at attention as the figure walked infront of the cell. The man didn't look up, he just continued to look at the shadows on the floor.
"Such mysterious things aren't they?"
He smiles as a trickle of blood seeped from his mouth.

Ark saw the trickle of blood and immediately forgot all about questioning the man. No one was left to bleed on her watch. No one should be left to bleed on any watch. She turned on the guards and began screaming. They stepped back in fear. She was known to be dissappointed and make men feel guilty, but they had all thought yelling beyond her.

When she was through with them, she conferred with her ghosts. None of the prisoners were close to death although none were in very good shape either.

Ark turned to the new guard that had come running down the dungeon stairs at the sound of her raised voice. She immediately looked him in the eye and asked, "Did you have anything to do with this?" The mans confusion didn't last long as he looked at the man she gestured to. He denied knowledge profusely and marched the dungeon guards out for punishment, promising to get her gentle men to carry these people to the infirmaries.

It only took about five minutes for someone to appear. In that time, she had opened all the cells, assuming the men were too weak and beaten to move.

{My computer has been devestated. The moniter is almost completely detached from the rest of the computer and I am going to be online quite a bit less for a little while as this is also an unpleasant financial time for my family. Also, I cannot fix the formatting of my last message because my mother's work computer is a piece of FREAKING JUNK.}

The man looks ath the woman who had yelled at the guards as she opened his cell.
"Aren't you afraid? I am a criminal afterall. Who knows what I will do."
He then looks at the guard who had just walked in and started to unchain him. He asked if guard would be so kind to grab his trust set of cards. The guard didn't see any harm in that and placed them in the strangers mouth. Sensing a chance the man spat the cards out and chanted something under his breath. The cards twiched dlighty, then whisked into the air and impaled the guard.
"I told you. Listen, I don't accept help from people like you. If you want to kill me then do it already."

"Hm.. in that case," with a snap of her fingers, Ark sent her ghosts to restrain the man and the magic. The ghost that brought her down to the dungeons in the first place dived on his shadow. Ark looked at the being curiously, but let it make its own decision about who and what to restrain.

Meanwhile, the rest of her ghosts borrowed enough of her energy to solidify and hold the man down until another of the guards swarmed over him.

The man struggled as the ghosts plus the guards launched upon him. Calling for the help from his shadow, but not noticing that it too has been restrained.
"I guess asking politely will not get me out of this?"
He smiles.
"Oh well, you would catch me at some point anyway, I guess trying to escape would just be a waste of my time."
The man stops struggling and just stares at the woman, trying to pick out her motive.
"So. What will you do with me now?"

Ark looked down her nose at him, "You're a fool. My plans haven't changed." She turned to the guards and said in her haughtiest manner, "Take them all to the infirmary wing. Three of you will stay on him at all times." Ark glanced at her ghost, which was still clinging to the man's shadow, "And you'll take two of my ghosts with you. They seem to think something is magical about him.. or something. When you reach the medical center, make sure he is sedated. Straight into his blood stream."

The guards all gave their consent and formed up exactly as she had commanded. The other two prisoners, who were rather old in age and were probably only there because they couldn't post bail, looked at her in complete gratitude. She would make sure to take advantage of that when they were released. Until then, she had to write a report. And before that, she had to escort the guards to the infirmary wing and make sure that more ghosts weren't needed.

The man sighs.
"So, may I at least know the name of my captor?"
He quietly laughs at the guards while constantly throwing insults at them. The shadow was also mocking it's captors and teasing them by constantly changing it's shape, just to see if the ghosts would keep up. The man looks back at the woman as he is escorted to the infirmary.
"I don't see why you are still taking me there, the moment I am healed and awake, you will all die."
He snickers at the guards with a hint of superiority.

"You may. My name is Adkin." She had to use her haughtiest manner around this prisoner to keep herself from going down to his level and calling insults. Everything about him offended her. Both she and the guards had their work cut out for them ignoring his vile comments.

She sighed at his attitude, "We don't believe in unjust deaths. If you deserve death, you will die. Let the punishment fit the crime." There was a long pause between the statement and the next as she considered her answer to his threat, "I severely doubt that you will kill us all. There are more in this kingdom with magic than just me."

The man cheekly sighed and shrugged.
"Just because you can restrain me now does not mean that I don't have power that is superior to yours. M'lady."
One of the guards sneered as the man goaded and teased them even further, talking about the many ways he could get out and how he could just kill them when he wanted.
"So how many other magic users are in this kingdom then? There cannot be that many I assume."
He stared at Adkin as if trying to prob her thought for anything that may be of use to him.

Ark ignored his boasting. She knew that at this moment, his threats were idle and until they were serious, she wasn't going to worry about him. Also, her ghosts didn't need sleep. And if they got bored, they would simply switch with another ghost.

The one guard that sneered was going to get re-training. She didn't want her men giving these prisoners any extra satisfaction and their training should have seen to that.

"How many of us there are is none of your concern. I will tell you that the majority of them currently surround you, but we do have more outside of the palace." She knew that she was a blank wall and she wasn't going to give him any more information than she already had.
