IvanTheGreat: "Only to watch your back. These strangers are fast and strong, but so are you." The cadet saluted. "Prepare to launch, Bane." The control room door closed behind the cadet and lights flicked on the screens of Neo's M4, indicating that he was clear to go.
DeVars: The ship flickered, the space around it distorting as it vanished with a series of clicks, hisses, and not-whistles. It was a series they had heard before, when other ships retreated. The Alien Songster handn't stopped its combat while it sang. It shot the engines out of an M3; the ship was quickly retrieved and retracted from combat. The Hack brought out a particularly bad note, like metal scraping against glass.

Touya quickly muted his audio feed. "Hey Max, did you heard that?"
"Yeah - shousa - music to my ears...", chuckled Maxwel, his ship still recovering from the sudden flick and the inertia their attack caused.
"They're toughies alright, fighting fire with fire..." , Touya replied while mapping all what Maxwel labeled as geeksheetz in the perimeter, " they're good."
"What now shousa..."
"We'll just have to keep dancing for now... and wish that some inkling of a weakness shows up. Don't attack the Hack just yet... we'll settle to tactics from now on.", Touya summoned and moved his M4 meters to the left - barely avoiding a possible leg hit.

Their opponents had any number of weaknessess-- they just weren't the same on any ship. One might be slow on the dodge, while another quick on the wing, one fast to fire, the other a hesitator. Just like human fighters. A quick glance at their own (chaotic) ranks, and one could see similar markers on any of them. Here was a fighter that was a quick shot, but slow turner, there one that could pilot like a bird and shoot like a goose.

Maxwel's reactions had been going fine, after about thirty minutes of him playing around this single shark. His mind starts to fire up in every evasion, every parry and every shot rapport he does, 'Let's dance for now...', his mind repeats of what Touya commanded. His fingers already twitching and sweating very hard to press on the alluring trigger.
"DAMMIT!!! I REALLY WANNA KILL YOU!", shouted Max to his cockpit screen, obviously pointing to the lone shark he had been dancing with for this long time. 'SHOUSA~~~! YOU BETTER START THINKING OF SOME SACRIFICE CEREMONY OR YOU'LL BE NEXT IN MY LIST!!!'. his clouded mind profuses as he moved in again and avoided a volley of shots.
A bleep soon sounded and Touya appeared in his HUD, "Hey... Shousa... we're cool aren't we? Could I start hurtin' them now?", Maxwel greeted Touya with the suave tone he always used. Touya, on the other screen, paused a while... a long while...
' YOU! ', Maxwel's mind raged about while his face still showed on his cool facade.
"...Yes.... you may hurt them now as you wish.", Touya finally answered, "And - don't mind wasting all of your righteous anger on them, I am full myself, so - no thanks - they can have it all."

The little Lone Shark (though he was quite invisible to the Academy Defenders) looked around, suddenly aware that he was alone. The horridly facinating sound of his voice quit with a quiet 'kerp' sound, said quite like the human, and species associated with, 'meep.' And thoughts along the line of 'I'm in trouble' though portrayed in more of the mysteriously incomprehensible clirpings of the Shark-Ship pilots. He flitted upwards, charging his weapon, his unit warped out and all on his lonesome. If he managed things right.......
A whole unit to the far left flank vanished with that mysterious warping of the space around them. It was much more pronounced when they did it in large numbers than in singles. A squad- Munin by the markings on the ships- swooped into the space as the warp faded. It wasn't hard to imagine the cunning Munin leader cursing with the igenuity of Sailor-Mercanary-Marines. He was a clever fellow, but that retreat had bothered him. The ships in his squad of four turned slowly, menacingly, to another Shark-Ship unit. One imagined that a shudder ran through those ships, a hair-raising tremor through them--except the ships had no hair to raise.

Touya noticed the squad's disappearance on his radar. "Heh - nice timing... didn't expect the Academy have this elites at hand. Why did it took so long for them to come here?!?"
"Sheesh!", he suddenly moved his throttle on a quick arc and his M4 responded with a quick swivel split-seconds before an almost hit. "These sharks are really annoying."
Touya aimed his M4's rifle up, to where the escaping lone lay, and without having it's head look, - fired - through radar-sense and complex calculations, it's reticule in almost 5 femtos of error.

The shot caught the wing, resulting in a half-charged discharge of the Shark's gun in Touya's direction. The ship spun a bit, something that sounded very much like a curse- and had it been understandable, it would have been one- sounded in the hack's channel, and space warped around his ship, which was to badly damaged to fly. The Squad Munin had turned on was in for it bad, though they didn't run--immediatly.
((If IvanTheGreat doesn't launch soon, he'll be launching to clean-up duty))

Touya toted in and moved his rifle to fire another, and stepped in the pedal for a sudden rush. The shot was aimed at the discharge, he knew it won't be much to dissipate it but may as well buy him time for a quick dash out of it's trajectory*.
"Bloody persistent - !", Touya exclamed and also pushed out several buttons on his radar - to attune to other sharks near their stations. The sooner the kill, the sooner this hell will be over with.
He also flicked in Maxwel as well as Pnp on the comms, "Max - Pnp, we'll try to use numbers. You all should be pretty darn tired for this crazy night - a little more effort is what I wish for both of you."
[[Shark shots are beam-type in nature, ne?]]

((Yurp. ))
The dodge was successful, thought there was a bit of shadow on the arm, where the beam had passed very close to the material of the ship. The sharks were persistant, though there numbers were greatly reduced. This sally was proving a failure to them, but at no small cost for the Academy.
Munin's targets vanished, and the ships stooped on another badly harried unit. They'd found a method that worked, swooping their ships out of the way of fire and back into formation, machingunning their opponents with rapid fire and crowding them against eachother as they came in far to fast, and far to close to the ships for any comfort. It was reckless, but seemed to work.

Touya and the others started their approach on another selected shark - another one that seemed to fall behind the ranks... and to say the least - incompetent with respect to his comrades.
The trio began their assault by a volley of long distance nose lasers, making the unfortunate ship quiver if not explode... and if the ship still stand another, Touya's M4 is hot on his rifle aiming straight at the engine's core - or of what he thought it were placed...
Rapid descent and mass bursts of firepower - Touya's team needs all the luck they can get - and all the ammo the M4 could acquire.

((Battery powered weaponry... Projectiles are soooo last millenia! XD The ship's enginges went up in a fireball, and the ship warped out. It was surely his imagination, but the Munin leader thought, for an instant, he'd seen something other than twisting starlight in the heat haze of their transporter. But surely not... A unit of small fast ships, more compact than the M3's and 4's, bearing the tell-tale brand of the Academy, zipped from ship to ship, little crane-claws extended from the bottom of their ships holding battery packs, while others carried small fueal tanks. In-flight refurb. Nice.

[[ I was hoping I could use one of my M4 as a gun attachment ^ ^ Wing attached lasers and nose beams all firing at the same time... or maybe an enemy's armament floating in space perhaps?]]
Touya's team flew past the enemy squad and returned in a wide arc - swooping and dealing unavoidable barrage of ruthless heat beams to the next ship in the formation... they were focused on attacking in from the rear - making the rest of the sharks in formations the one's really aimed in for battle.
Seeing the appearance of small friendlies jut out of his radar, Touya immediately issued a command to intercept their flight path and do defensive maneuvers to cover everyone in need of immediate rations. Including their own - but that would fall on last priorities.

((Pull something feasible *stifles laughter-anything here? Feasible? Ha!* and feel free to try it.))
A round faced cadet with the patch of a Command focused student grinned. "Thanks for the cover, Hugi." A filler ship swooped back to the Academy as another joined the ranks. Now that one thought of it, they'd been doing this off and on all through the fight... "We appreciate it, just don't lose your hides guarding us. Our ships are fast enough to dodge." He smiled though, any harshness in his words softened by the affable grin, and genuine attitude of easy going friendliness. One of the remaining units turned turned to guard its companions rears--since they didn't seem to be doing to sharp a job of it.

Something blipped on Aki's radar, she switched it to full screen. What was that? Nothing was there anymore. She could've sworn her radar had shown a ship behind her. Just so as to be safe, Aki flipped up another barrier to prevent her from showing up on any radars. As another precaution she tuned her communications to pick up any non-school signals.
((Silent-senpai, I wasn't sure where to have her come back in, so she's sort've on the back end, watching out now, okay?*sweatdrop* ))

(( xd I's cool, Kiku. youse be busy.))
The girl was not mistaken by the blip at her back. A ficker of light, the shimmering starburst that meant a Shark was charging up. Tick... tock... Shortly it would fire... and shortly, there'd be nothing left of that puny M4... The Shark pilot gave the equivalent of a chuckle.
