"Oh believe me, I didn't," Matt sighed, catching a shy raindrop out of the air as it glittered down from the ceiling. Already the face of his younger sister was sucked back into the fog to be distorted once again, the only thing remaining within being the uneasy sense that someone had tampered with his memory. "I remember the event happening with my sister, Leanah. After she crammed the cake into my cheek, it cuts off as I'm playing poker with the guys down at the barracks," Rising up, the silver Lord crossed his arms, raising his hand to track the droplet of cool water as it danced across his pale knuckles, "Perhaps you could tell me what's wrong with that picture?"

A worried expression erased her previous blush as she looked down at her hands which fidgeted under her gaze,

"You don't have a little sister Matthew,"she said, still looking at her clenched hands, her thumbs moving uncomfortably,

"And that little cake fight was me and you, which I already described,"she continued her silver eyes flickering up every now and then, gauging the Lord's reaction to the moves.

"Precisely," Matt sniffed, brushing his bangs smoothly behind his ears before resting the knuckle of his thumb against his lips. 'So, either I took a blow to the head during a mission, or someone has taken an awful amount of trouble to keep me away from Hitomi,' He deduced, 'Which would presumably set me to a fork in the road.'

"The only Remembrancer in the vicinity would be Black," the white angel concluded. An odd profession for an Ibixian, the goatman known simply as Black made his living off of cursing or causing memories—tainting the past with frivolities and things that may or may not have happened. However, the creature's work took days, and often left the victims gibbering as they clawed at their eyes after the ordeal. "If anything else, we can beat some information out of the brute," Matthew shrugged. It wasn't for nothing that the Ibixian referred to the Lord as White...

She got up from her crouched position, her silver hair falling behind her, shimmering in the dim lighting, silver eyes raised up to look him full in the face, a determined expression set on her face.

"Maybe it's better this way,"she suggested a small smile lighting her face although inside her insides seemed to be wriggling,

"I mean our relationship was,"she struggled for a word,

"Confusing. It would only make things harder on you, unless I misintepreted our relationship,"she said, biting her lower lip in mild confusion.

"If you had your memory overwritten with fairy tales, wouldn't you like to see what happened in the real story?" Matthew replied, blue eyes blinking once before he uncrossed his arms, hands going into the pockets of his pants. "Besides, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing I simply let you run away. You might owe me some dessert cakes!" The youth laughed, kissing the air in Hitomi's general direction.

"Unless you'd like to relate all of the juicey details?" He purred provocatively, winking to seal the tease. Giving his wings a comfortable stretch, the Lord turned to look out into the fading rain.

Her eyes widened slightly and she returned his grin with her own sly smirk as she stepped closer to him,

"The juicey details, hmmm..."she contemplated a slight purr tinting the edge of her voice,

"I don't think you could handle the juicey details,"she said with a smirk although she still felt slightly uneased, she wanted to tell him about certain things but she doubted he would want to hear that because it would only make things more complicated.

"Try me," The Angel Lord laughed, "I'm ordained." To the best of his knowledge, the oddest thing a repenting sinner had ever confessed to Belial's second hand had been they're over-active lust for pie. Unable to consume enough to satisfy her urges, the poor woman had begun cutting chewing out of the process, simply splattering the crusty desserts against her faces in a shameless show of gluttony.

Had the woman been anything but glamored, Matthew might have had to laugh out loud at her profession.
"Is ours a tale of debauchery and back alley lust?" He chuckled, quite tickled by the thought. Although crime within the community was nonexistant, every now and then a couple would step into a shadowed alleyway, returning several long minutes later rearranging their robes with furtive glances.

"Well I guess it wasn't that bad,"she smiled sheepishly as her teasing smile retreated behind an oncoming blush that was creeping up the sides of her slender neck,

"Just something to do with cake,"she said, biting her bottom lip nervously. It was amazing how twisted her emotions were around them, they were like constantly changing and as of late she had felt more outgoing than her normal self. It scared her and yet excited her all at once, like she just wanted to scream but she also wanted to retreat back into her cacoon of indifference. Her fingers reached up and combed back some of her light blue hair as she tried to find the courage to say the next thing,

"And we had that cake fight and you kind of licked it off." She finished with a small nervous smile,

"That's all."

Eyebrows rising in amusement, Matt's lips spread, showing silver teeth as he laughed in disbelieving disappointment. "Well, that doesn't sound so bad," He smiled, "What kind of cake was it?" Attempting to piece together the most likely location for a cake to land on the woman, the young Lord assumed that she would be most likely to be hit in the face.

—ome out and face me like a man, Levantia!" Hitomi hollered, the next piece of cake loaded between frosty fingers. With a carefree laugh, the silver angel waited for the girl to take one stride to many into proximity of the counter he took refuge behind—

"Ah!" Came the girl's frightened gasp. Pinning her arms gently against her waist, Matthew slowly drew his tongue across the trail of frosting that painted Hitomi's neck—

A shudder ran through her as her fingers lightly trailed alongside her neck remembering their cake fight as well. Trying to hide the unmeant gesture she smiled and placed a hand to her chin as if she was deep in thought about her previous question.

"Hmmm, the cake, the cake,"she stated pacing back and forth as she thought,

"Well I'm not really sure but I think it might have been chocolate or maybe vanilla,"she then smirked as she continued talking looking up at him with a mischievous gleam in her eyes,

"Why don't you tell me, you were the one who tasted it?"

"Why don't you tell me?" the young Lord countered, circling his opponent in the clash of memories, "You were the one who flung the first slice." Cocking an eyebrow, Matthew's silver smile flickered in the firelight as he retraced the scene of the crime.

"Ah!" Came the girl's frightened gasp. Pinning her arms gently against her waist, Matthew slowly drew his tongue across the trail of frosting that painted Hitomi's neck. Drawing the angel's smooth shoulders to his open chest, the youth laughed lightly as Hitomi's feathers tickled out small circles within the confines of his unbuttoned shirt.

Nipping softly at the startled girl's jawline, the chocolate frosting seemed to draw a path to her mouth—

"I remember having a decent right hook with a black forest crepe," Matt chuckled, flicking his silver bangs out of his eyes as he continued to draw a perimeter about the black-winged angeless.

She turned on her heels following his circling with her eyes, glancing up between his legs and his eyes until the process became dizzying and she locked her silver hues with his own ice blue eyes.

"I remember the fight taking the same direction,"she replied, her neck turning to keep her eyes focused on the angel Lord,

"Although I think a certain someone was getting a little frisky." She stated with a smirk.

Hitomi stood still, her hands moving slightly every now and then, trying to free herself from his grasp although his tongue seemed to be working quite effectively in doing that. Also noticing where the trail of chocolate frosting was leading too she opened her mouth to speak but found words wouldn't come out. Inhaling deeply she managed to stutter out,

"Matthew..."

"Spaz," Matthew laughed softly, echoed by the smoke of the memory as the shadowed figures faded out on the breeze. Wrapping his arms protectively around Hitomi's shoulders, the young man of an eternal seventeen years gave a breathy chuckle of simultaneous grief and alleviation. 'In a way I guess I always knew something wasn't right,' He sniffed to himself, 'Expecting to see someone other than Vatican guards every morning...' He sniffed to himself, even now remembering only the emblazened ripples the black-winged angel's touch created within.

She breathed in, a little sharply than normal, as his arms wrapped around her narrow shoulders. She held the breath for a couple of seconds, visibly tense before forcing herself to relax so not to alert Matthew. Hesistantly she leaned her head on his shoulder breathing in once more, her breath shaky.

"What are we going to do?"she asked outloud, all though it wasn't so much aimed to Matthew as it was at the ceiling.

"You don't remember anything and I'm,"she shook her head,

"I'm just a mess." It was true, her own feelings and thoughts were just a jumbled mess inside of her mind and she didn't have the time or the patience to sort through it all. The main feeling that was identifiable was fear, a fear of what was happening inside of her and what to come. That she was letting him get too close and that veil of indifference that she had perfected in the darkness was too easily lifted away by him. It scared her, not only because of the chance of getting hurt but that he had so much influence on her. He affected her, even now, making her heart pound wildly and confusing her. It all was so complex but at the same time so simple.

"First things first," Matt sighed, "I suppose we'd better head out to the northern complex to see if the others evacuated successfully..." Turning, the youth rose an clenched palm towards the couch containing his shirt. Opening his fingers, the garment twitched before leaping into the air like a sail, folding neatly into its master's grip. Pulling the sleeveless white shirt over his slim shoulders, the white Lord gave his wings a comfortable stretch, both silky appendages poking out of their prospective holes in the back of the covering. Stroking Hitomi's cheek as though clearing a tear, Matthew gave the girl a reassuring wink before turning towards the doorway, summoning both trenchcoat and longsword to either hand as he looked out the doorframe into the unrelenting storm.

Cocking a single finger upwards as his thumb cocked back to form a gun, Matthew gave a silver grin,
"One for all," He chuckled, "And All for us!"

"Just remember, whenever things get dark, or scary," The young angel reassured the girl, taking her small hands to form a small finger pistol, "Your will is your own. This world can never take your heart, can never beat you. No matter how hard it rains, they'll never break you." Forming his own gun, the silver-haired boy gave an equally silver grin, "One for all, and all for us!"
