((Aren's kinda hit that point. I can't do anything more with her without defining the battle She's either good or evil at this point: either she won, or she lost.))

Just as the spinning arrow broke and shattered - so did the mortal chains that bound twice his allegiance to the shifty master of dreams. No doubt, that was what the master of dreams all about - shifty, patches, temporal and undescribable.

A smile left his lips as part of his voice pre-empted all doubts and fear. Though the urge of isolation is still that strong, it didn't do much to him to stop him from his route.

"Heh. . . really surprising indeed - Ventriloquist. Now that Aren's submitted herself to be your doll, I am also partly free." The branch snapped leaving deVars, Claire and Wrath floating around the weightless air.

Gravity has no effect on him, now that he had a tap on some small piece of dream he got ahold of, especially now that doubt and fear had ceeded.

"Though I won't be following you like the fool she was - I am now my own master."

((yups. . . my turning point approaches near. . . ^_^ ))

Something shattered, the arrowhead around Kikuka's neck fell to the ground in thin slivers like shattered glass. Just like that, something -someone- she'd held near and dear to her heart, one of her saviors, was gone.

Kiku found herself sinking to her knees in shock, her eyes were wide and dazed at what she'd just seen. In her ear the voice of the true Aren whispered her goodbyes.

Take care of yourself, Kiku, I might not be around to do it, and Jekk is absentminded. Aren's joking voice resounded to Kiku alone. Kiku turned her face up, eyes searching blindly for the Aren she knew. There, leaned a ghostly form of Aren. Green eyes widened, tears gathering in them. The form smiled and waved before vanishing, to be seen no more.

The Darkness had stolen yet another person Kiku loved. No more, Darkness, NO. MORE. Kiku thought with vengance as she stood.

"Darkness!" Kiku cried, calling its attention. "I will kill you! I will kill you for all those you've taken from me!" Tears spilled over and cascaded down white cheeks. "You will rule me no more!" She declared. "No more!" Fists clenched at her sides. "You will claim nothing else from me... or Myria!"

((What? Aren? But that's her crossroads... Paradox! gonk ))

[[ Eh. . . it's normal for deVars to act that way ( remember Claire holding Aren while the snake sticks to her forehead? 3nodding it was a small effort to at least hold himself bound to something in Myria. . . and it ended in somewhat a failure. I'm sure you all could trace out how things happen to this time. ) - the real turning point happens after one more post. The one up there is just waking from the dream. ]]

((How? Never mind... Anyway, I have been informed that it's not Aren out yet, since apparently I can't just leave it like that while everyone pulls their tails down here. ))

Or at least, it had seemed definate. Perhaps both sides were to determined not to lose for it to be done with yet. Knight circled down to perch on Aren's shoulder, one wing streaked crimson, one eye red, the other as black as it had ever been, a triumphant, despairing scream tearing from his murderous throat. Blue eyes, now violet, looked up at them with the oddest mixture of friendlieness and hatred, murderous intent and protection. Aren had chosen to give herself to make the fight easier for them, in a way, and infinately harder in another.
The smirk was only sort of Aren's, amused, but wicked in its amusement too.
In her head, Aren whistled cheerily as she caused the Darkness problems with its take-over of her body.

"Hey!" It was Aren's voice, sounding mildly offended. "What am I?"
"Mine."
She responded with a raspberry, drifting into the air. The Darkness replaced it with a miffed expression.
"Pest. You have already lost. What does one bird matter?" The bird dug its claws in with another shriek.
Power collected around the figure of Aren, dark and dangerous. One violet eye deepend in color to the void of Nightmare's blade. One hand signed that it was an idiot.
Jekk had offered insult--so had Aren, but she was in the process of being served her due--but in a way, it was not Jekk who would pay. For the deepest scars are emotional. And the deepest wounds caused by those one cares for. And it could not be said the Jekk was not in love, not honestly. The dark power collected around the hand that hadn't signed as it lifted, aimed not for Jekk, but for the pathetic Princess who had so arrogantly, so stupidly, continued to resist the Rule of Darkness.
The free hand signed for Kikuka to get ready to move from its position at Aren-Darkness's side. Knight screeched once more.
