Jack shuddered and took a drink from his glass before going on, beginning to recount the first time that he had an encounter with Isobel.
"She was guarded by a basilisk, nasty things that they are. I'd had already killed her first pet, and she didn't think too kindly of me for it. Once we, Tessa and I, had killed the beast, we made our way to the heart of the mountain.
"She wielded tiger claws, silver tipped I do believe. Very sharp. She tried to seduce one of us, I personally don't think she has preference to gender. Anyway, it appears that she has affinities with shadow, darkness, and fire." Jack concluded his tale and swirled the wine in his glass, keeping his gaze on it.

"Claws..." Kimberly echoed, "I can't say I'm too fond of close quarters, especially if..."
A thought struck her. If Isobel had already been bested once by Jack and Tessa, let alone Jack's immediate reaction to mention of capability, she was at the very least, forcible. Even a quick look on Tessa's frame held some measure of guess on the Dhampyr's part for agility, which in turn led her to suspect one thing she was individually not fond of.
"How is she for speed, Jack?"

"Speed? Physically, I don't know. However, she can shift faster than a snake's strike through shadows." Jack said setting his glass down with a small clink as it hit his watch. He surveyed Kimberly, eyes narrowed ever so slightly in thought. "We'll need a plan,. and a damned good one at that. Especially if she has Henry, and especially if they have alerted the Company." Jack said in thought, gaze drifting away to the table top, growing unfocused.

Kimberly bit her lip softly, multiple scenarios playing out in her mind - and finding them all quite horrid for odds. She nodded after a few seconds in accordance to Jack's assessment of needing a plan. "I don't mean to impose, Jack but..." She straightened slightly and relaxed her shoulders, "I want to help. I may not know all too much, but I usually figure things out as I go, and it looks as though the excitement isn't always appreciated among those of us going through it on a persistent basis."
She dropped her head slightly, still somewhat tired from her earlier exposition and sighed. "Of course, this does nothing to alleviate lack of an approach. What do you suggest?"

Jack grinned, looking up at the girl. "Oh I'll figure it out as we go along." He said, standing. He motioned for Kimberly to follow him as he went by her and he exited the cabin, looking out over the sea by the railing.
"It is imperative that Calypso returns to us, and as such, I have a task to ask of you." Jack said to Kimberly, gaze surveying the crew.

Kimberly raised an eyebrow but followed Jack nonetheless, leaning on both arms at the railing a pace and a half from him. "Alright, what've you got for me Jack?" She asked, turning to look out at the seas behind the Duchess with a watching stare and a slight eagerness in her eyes.

"I want you to try to kill me." Jack said, looking to Kimberly. He rolled his left shoulder and flipped his dagger in his hand before letting it drop, point down onto the deck. He also loosed his cutlass and dropped that as well as his pistol. He let his hands drift to his sides. "Just...try to not hit the nose too much would you?" He asked, a finger running down the slightly crooked bridge before dropping back to his side.

Kimberly's eyes flew wide and she took a step back in disbelief. She had heard him right, had seen him disarm himself, to which she could only assume he wasn't going to put up any form of lethal resistance, but even then his posture was incredibly passive... The cyan aura surrounding the girl flickered for a moment, but it solidified again shortly thereafter as she blinked and lifted her head slightly, undoing the binding on her belt and gathering it around in one hand as it melded out to its whiplike state. "With or without, then?" She asked, curling the weapon at the handle such that the line of it rotated up to her arm and rested against it.

Jack swallowed, taking in the whip before looking around the deck. This was going to probably end up awful, he knew that, but the other ways of summoning his mother were not in his memory. "Either way." He said quickly before his mind could stop his words. "You need to actually try to kill me Kim." He said, his voice surprisingly steady. "And ah...if I'm wrong...tell Tessa I love her would you? And run away from my mum, land works fine." He added, clearing his throat quietly.

Kimberly bit her lip, looking over to the cabin to Tessa's unconscious figure before turning back to Jack, and nodding slightly. "Probably best I don't know why then, I see..." she remarked quietly, her aura fading in and out again as she closed her eyes. Before too long it had settled on a blood-red glow, and when she opened her eyes again they betrayed no such kindness as she had grown to appreciate. "Have it your way." she said, more darkly, in a seductive tone that in truth betrayed how poorly-experienced she was along those same lines of thought (with the possible exception of Felix' so-called "care"). She tossed the whip out onto the deck and her aura flared around her hands as she rushed at him, silent steps falling as she moved unearthly quickly into a spinning kick at his chest.

The cracking sound that echoed from Jack's chest as the kick landed at its target sounded painful at best and Jack winced, knocked back several feet, fighting his instincts to fight, cry out, and just plain run. "Please. Is that all you have?" He taunted with a wet cough. "At this rate I will be alive for the next turn of immortality."

Kimberly laughed softly, slowing her pace as she sauntered up to him and lay a hand next to his throat and leaned down on it, eyes boring into his with a tempting stare. "Feeling bold are we?" she asked, "Give me a reason to fight. Give me something worth remembering..."
As she said it though, a small contingent of crimson power flowed free of her free hand and shot at him, forming into needlelike extensions of a bloodlike darkness ready to pierce on impact.

Jack narrowed his eyes before widening himself, realizing that his mother may not even come to his aid, and that he was looking at his death. His gaze dropped to his wedding ring before a flow of ice protected him from the projectiles. He staggered back, ice falling away to water. "Fight because I told you to." He said simply, refusing to fall back on temptations to entice his opponent, knowing that should he live, Tessa would be a far more formidable opponent.

Fear. Kimberly saw it, reveled in it, smiled in Jack's face as she picked herself up, gripping Jack at the throat as she did so and lifting him off the flooring of the deck. She laughed slightly, watching his every movement with passive interest. "You plan on making this boring?" she asked, clearly uninterested in the command she had been given, "I could kill you now, but I see a will to live in you yet, despite the shallow unlife that it really is. I'm going to say this only once; fight back or it's your head I'll be taking next."

Jack found the sudden inability to breath greatly unsettling and he clutched Kim's arm, letting ice flow down it at an alarming rate, planning on falling back to his abilities as a defense. It was not in his interests to hurt Kimberly, even with the noticeable change, but he certainly at least wanted to give his mother a chance before he was killed.
