She grinned back, her fingers also forming a small finger pistol, something she had learned long ago and had never forgotten.
"One for all and all for us,"she echoed, her own words only a whisper drowned out by the pouring rain. But she hadn't said the words for anyone to hear, she had said it for the mere meaning that lay behind the phrase. Her own slender wings spread out, she turned her attention to the open door,
"Well ladies first,"she smirked gesturing from Matthew to he pouring rain that lie outside.

"Why thank-you kind sir," Matthew chuckled, making an elegant cursty with the tails of his trenchcoat. With a slight stretch, the white angel took a jogging start, snapping open his powerful wings as the warmth of the den faded into the biting cold of the rain, bursting off of the ground like a silver glider. Mouthing the incantation for the hemisphere of protection against the elements, the youth of seventeen blinked against the smokey fog that rose up above his head, thick rain drops bursting apart on contact with the glassy half-sphere. Pivoting in the maelstrom, Matt repeated the verse, angling his fingertips to direct the glyph towards Hitomi.
Although distant thunder bit at the air, the lightning seemed to have dispersed throughout the black skyline. "Don't fly into anything!" the silver Lord hollered with a grin, twisting his body acrobatically around a weather vane that seemed to appear before his eyes. 'Visibility isn't phenominal, but the complex should only be a mile or two north... Once we hit the Iillex, we can bunk down for the afternoon,' Matthew sighed, blinking beads of cool moisture from his eyelashes, 'I hope the glamer is holding...

Seconds after the Lord had taken off, Hitomi began her own flight through the silver drops, long slender black wings cutting through the air like the Reaper's scythe as she raced against the wing to catch up with Matthew. As soon as his warning reached her ears a branch of some sort decided to fly in front of her; she narrowly dodged it, diving to the side as the branch flew past.
"Thanks for the warning mam,"she replied with a good natured smile as she weaved her way through invisible obstacles and flew in patterns that she made up along the way. She absentmindedly listened to the drops of rain as they struck the top of her invisible shield, becoming visible briefly as each drop hit it.

With a deft twist around a chunk of blown debris, Matthew's eyes caught the grey outline of a plank in a distant flash of lightning. "It might be safer to camp down once we get there!" He hollered to the black angel, "Hallowed ground is worthless if the walls are torn away from the foundations!" With the dull pounding of near thunder, the Lord squinted through the melee towards a speck of black against the ebony-grey background of the soaked countryside.
Although nothing more that a large library, the northern Iillex compound had divined its own hallowed aura out of the blue, as though begging to be converted into a shelter. Build of cemented marble, the structure wasn't exactly radiate, but promised an extreme durability against the elements. Dodging another shingle, Matt shook out his sodden bangs to clear his vision, angling to body into a slow descent.

Following him, she similarly began to descend, slowing the constant flapping of her wings and making sure to dodge any debris heading in her direction. Her sharp silver eyes could make out the outline of the Iillex getting more distinct as they drifted towards the ground, the bubble of protection around her head making sure the rain didn't screw up her vision.

Striking the cobbles of the paved streets with a pleasant jolt, Matthew folded his powerful winter wings across his shoulders like a cloak, pausing only to cast his gaze across the ruined fane before striding up the stairs to the Iillex, folding the large double doors inwards with a firm application of both palms. "Empty," He brothe, relief itching at the back of his mind as softly as suspicion. Warmer than the tempest raging outside, the yawning fireplace at the far end of the library's den was clean of charcoal, flaking logs stacked neatly beside the mantle.
"At least this one has some sofas," the silver Lord smiled, folding his sodden bangs back across his skull as he stretched out his entire body pleasantly against the dry comfort of the familiar building. "I can almost remember hanging out here on weekends until you got us thrown out for sneaking in a few iced cinnamon buns," Turning his blue eyes back towards his soaking black entourage, the youth's smile widened, "I can't believe you're not fat..."

The black angel regarded him with an eyeroll before settling herself on one of the couchs furling her wings close to her back and stretching her legs out in a feline manner, arching her back in the process:
"Thanks alot,"she remarked after her exercise, her eyes absentmindedly flickering between him and the storm outside. Licking her lips slightly she said nonchalantly as possible,
"You know I could really go for one of those sticky buns right now."

"Ah, and thus you ask the man with the magical bag," Matthew chuckled, untying the small haversack from his hip. Considering the size of the peaches he'd included in his ration alottment, the silver Lord rubbed the fringe of the velvetine bag with his thumb nail, activating the transmutation spell lying dormant within. Sure enough, half a moment later a thick stream of cinnamon poured forth from within as the sticky bun oozed out its sugary goodness to the world. "Just try not to wear it this time," the wintery-maned young man laughed with a wink, reaching into the confines of the white bag to retrieve the freshly-iced dessert, handing it off to the black-winged angeless.
Tossing the haversack onto a side table, Matt gave his warming body a comfortable stretch, groaning for a moment as his tight chest loosened. A running joke amonst allied species seemed to be that Angels possessed great rippling chests forged of hours of ample flapping from their wings; Tracing his hand across his sore pectorals, the youth silently wondered when the sign-ups for this had occured. Plopping down into the cushions littering the floor, Matthew gave a relieved sigh.

Taking the sticky bun in her hand with a delighted squeal she didn't even pay attention as Matthew fell to the floor in an exhaustion. Holding the delectable dessert up and looking at it, then sideways deciding which way would be the best to start eating the huge cinnamon bun. Nodding as if she finally decided she brought it to her lips and just took a huge bite out of it. As she finished eating that particular part she didn't even notice some frosting at the corner of her mouth as she began to eat more of the delicious bun. A few minutes later the only proof that there had ever been a sticky bun was the frosting on the corner of her mouth.
"You know what, I'm also suprised I'm no fat,"she said with a smile over in Matthew's direction then she cocked her head to the side,
"Jeez did you just fall down and die?"she said amusedly as she looked at Matthew's relaxed figure.

"Yes," Matthew laughed softly, "Come join me, these cushions are awesome..." Sighing in relieved comfort, the Lord gave his entire body a groaning stretch, each wingtip vibrating lightly to the end pinions. Retracting into the silky pillows below, the silver-maned youth kicked off his greaves with a crescendo of falling steel striking stone. "Ahh..." Matt yawned, chuckling once more in silly relaxation.
"Sometimes I used to think that Baker left me around on guard duty—The entire time I served my Ministration at the Bakery I never once touched the flour," Lazilly turning his head towards the delighted angeless, Matthew's lips curled back into a grin, "And somehow you always ended up sneaking in when I was ducking beneath the counter with another customer. I'm amazed my wallet survived the ordeal..."

She grinned at him as she let her body slip from the couch and onto the cushions below, her slim body barely making much of an impact. Snuggling into the cushions she turned her head slightly so she still could see Matthew,
"It's because I'm just too quick for you,"her grin got a little bit wider as she tilted her head upwards so so Matthew could see her grinning face,
"And plus those cinnamon buns were just too delicious to pass up."

"Apparantly," Matthew laughed, rolling his body until his nose brushed to Hitomi's, "Although you seem to have missed some." With a naughty grin, the Lord rested his palm to the girl's jawline, brushing his lips softly across the misplaced bit of icing. Exhaling a teasing laugh, the blue-eyed youth gave the black angeless a light peck before retrieving the remants of the cinnamon bun with his tongue, tracing out a slow circle across her firm cheek.
Flicking his hair out of his eyes with a silver smile, Matt brushed a white fleck from his own lip with the corner of his thumb, cocking an eyebrow at the small orbule that discolored his black glove. "It appears I'm not much cleaner when I eat," He chuckled, giving his wings a stretch to shift them out of their uncomfortable canting.

The moment seemed to last a few hours instead of a few seconds but as soon as her mind seemed to register the proximity of Matthew's figure, he had already moved away, teasing her from afar. She exhaled, her breath barely audible, many times softer than her beating heart. She tilted her face to be able to see him better, her calm expression a stark contrast to her rapidly beating heart.
"I am suprised that you've been able to keep your oath for so long, Matthew,"she replied.

"What?" He pouted, sucking the remaining cream topping from the tip of his thumb before smiling lightly, "Don't tell me I did it wrong... I must be out of practice." Shrugging wryly, the silver angel tied his fingers behind his back as he leaned forward to c**k his head up to Hitomi, "There's nothing for it, we'll just have to do it until we get it right," Matthew flirted with a light chuckle.
—don't tell me I did it wrong," the youth pouted, cocking his eyebrow suggestively. Still warm from the Baker's eggnog, Matthew'd had the misfortune of bumping into Hitomi's plate of cinnamon buns. Too slow to catch gooey treats, the wintery-maned youth had caught the windmilling girl by the hips, cutting off her sharp squeak with his—

A small shudder ran through her as the memory he had alluded to replayed in her mind. She pushed herself up, her torso lifted from the ground while her legs still laid on the ground. Gleaming strands of light blue hair lay over her face as she stared at him, a devious smile playing on her lips as the plan in her mind began to formulate.
"Yeah you did do it wrong," a mischevious gleam entered her eyes as she continured,
"Here let me show you how." Cupping his face with her right hand she brought him close to her and kissed him, a kiss that was gentle and passionately searing all at once.
And the only thought that ran through her head was,
'I have to be crazy.'
