Necia- whose mouth was full- paused with her fork half-way back down to her plate, staring at Stry, then concentrated on chewing. Kai had yet to take a bite and so she shook her head.

"No, Stryder, no attacks have happened here recently. People are beginning to get nervous at all the silence, truth be told. Even the raids for their own Candidates have stopped; it is not a good sign."

Careful, Zalenth, Piroth teased lightly, Someone might mistake you for a Harper with such pretty words.

Temporarily Stry fell silent as the news which she listened to grasped her heart mercilessly. Shining had appeared quite but perhaps it was fear that seemed to silence its residence. Placing her sweet roll upon her plate, the two-toned rider looked up to both Kai and Necia as her eyes flickered with hatred at even the thought of what the Slayers foul minds could be conjuring.

"I suppose time will only tell of what sickly games they'll play but I won't be sitting at the sidelines this time," She remarked as she loosely grasped her neck with her hand, sliding it downwards as it brushed against her scar, "I'll be fighting with vengence."

Her mind seemed to spiral and rampage within countless thoughts of what their next tactic and move would be against Shining Heights. Though the very thought was sickening, Stry wouldn't let them escape without a blemish or two.

"This is our home, our Weyr, and I won't let one get past me. Not like last time."

Zalenth rumbled softly at her reply, his eyes whirled with affection and amusement.

If the mistake is made then they must know the affection that I speak. They know what my heart solaces of; The beauty of a Scarlet.

His eyes drifted towards the ground below, scanning for the herds of wherry that countlessly congregated near the streams and lakes within Shining Heights boundaries. As the moons rays filtered the darkness with glistening sparkles of utter radiance, dancing upon the tranquil streams and upon the solemn lake, the two-toned brown's eyes churned with excitement as soon enough the hunt would begin.

(Stry- Is Slayers another name for Rebels? *Confused* Or are there Slayers in this rp like there are in UCS?)

Piroth turned her gaze to the herd, incredibly pleased with the turn of events and the attention she was getting, despite the lack of a flight. Was this how a queen felt when she found the bronze she wished to be her king?

Seeing a relatively fat wherry as she passed over, she suddenly dove and scooped it up, winging over to a ledge to nibble on her snack.

"None of us will let the Rebels enter our home," Necia assured Stryder seriously. Kai nodded, chewing her food at the moment and therefore unable to speak.

C'nor walked into the dining upon returning from his second patrol at the same time Selene had entered to eat her evening meal. They smiled at each other from across the room and went about to the task of getting their plates. They both took a seat near the others who were in there as well.

"It is good to see you again Stryder. And you as well Vanecia." C'nor said polietly.

"Good evening everyone." Selene quipped in with her grettings. Turning to Kaivani, "Have I met you yet?"

((My brain is totally scrambled...sorry for the confusion, I mean Rebels.))

Stry wisped her bangs away from her sight, looking towards Necia with a smile and a nod of her head as she whole heartedly believed her yet still it was a matter that seemed to haunt her dreams, destroying them with a poision that slowly devoured her inner strength ounce by ounce.

"I know It's just- It's not fear, it's just I want this to end. How long will Keli stand? Until its dragon against dragon? It's madness!" Stryder replied, gritting her teeth slightly as she rose her steaming mug of klah to her lips and sipped lightly.

From the corner of her eyes, Stryder watched as C'nor and Selene entered the kitchens piling their plates and slowly making their way towards the tables. She smiled warmly, "It's a pleasure to see you again, C'nor and Selen. It seems as if I've been gone for a turn or so."

Zalenth endlessly gazed as he watched Piroth swoop down and snatch a good sized wherry from the herd, carrying it towards a nearby ledge to feast. The two-toned brown was not so picky nor did he spend much time singling out the fattest wherry either. His eyes drifted to a lone wherry and, as instinct drove his hunger, he latched onto his prey and instantly broke its neck.

Gently gliding to the ledge where the scarlet resided, Zalenth rumbled softly as he grasped his prize within his claws and backwinged aside her. Without hesistation, he began tearing flesh away from the carcass and eatting his fill though occassionally his sight would drift towards her as his eyes whirled with emotions.

A beautiful night but perhaps the beauty is casted by the one I've desired to be by my side this night. He remarked with a smile, his love for her kindling greater.

Makea smiled slightly. "Yeah, that would be a big help. He's a tense boy. And he gets excited too easily. He'll collapse if no one calms him down. But he's a good kid." she said softly, taking a deep breath.

*Lowisa smiles a soft smile* As soon as I see Lacrim next I will send him to you. Good luck with your brother my friend! *with that she turns and walks away. She was prude of herself to help Makea she over came her fears and spoke. Her nervous shaking told her it might be a while before she tried that again. But then maybe just maybe she had managed to make a new friend today... She sighed and set off to find her brother*

Lacrim could not believe what had happened. Isa his shy little sister who rarely even talked to him had spoken to a stranger. Spoken, it would seem, enough to learn her trouble and offer help. Even if it was his help she had offered. Now he had to find this Mekea, she sounded lovely, and see what he can do to help her with her little brother.*

Hello Miss Mekea. *he smiles and holds out his hand* I'm Lacrim., I believe you meet my sister, Lowisa, earlier today. She thought you might want me spend a bit of time with your lonely little brother?...

Kai paused in chewing and stared with big eyes at Selene, then quickly swallowed and replied softly, "I don't think so. Are you a rider?"

"Hello, C'nor," she said cheerfully, inclining her head.

As Piroth finished her wherry, she gave Zalenth a look, both gentle and chastising at once. Save the flattery for after we eat, hm? Then I can better pay attention and agree.

The brown nodded and tore away one of the remaining sections left upon the carcass and wasted no time in chewing it as it slithered down his throat. He had picked the wherry clean, barely leaving any scraps for firelizards to take part in.

Arising from the ledge as his blue orbs scanned the herd of wherries, Zalenth had selected a fine prey. A bit small but the wherry was nicely plump and one of the fattest a dragon would ever come across.

Leaping from the ledge, his wings propelled his forwards until his claws drew up the wherry to his awaiting maw and snapped its neck for an instant kill. Carrying his prize within his maw, Zalenth situated himself back by Piroth and began eatting once again.

Just after C'nor had greeted her and everyone else within the room, Stryder had become oftly quite. Her mind seemed unable to become comforted as it pressed onwards rampaging about, dwindling on the thoughts of the Rebels and Keli. How she hated her, just as everyone else, but if she had the chance to seek reveng then by the first egg she'd take it!

She sat there, twirling a fork which had tragically stabbed a grape upon her plate as her eyes drifted elsewhere.

Zally, she softly bespoke as her eyes glanced upwards to those around her but eventually drifted on a downwards descent again, are you up to stargazing tonight?

Something is troubling you again. What is it? Zalenth commented with a soothing tone, comforting and sweet.

It's too much to explain but I'll sum it up in one word. Rebels.

At hearing her answer, the brown rumbled a bit of laughter but knew that whenever she requested to stargaze Stryder unveiled her deepest scerets, fears and, sometimes if he was lucky enough, embarrassing stories.

Rebels, he pondered slightly as tonights discussion seemed a previous topic, that was the topic a few sevenday ago but I still will come and meet your Strydermine. I do love stargazing, it up in the charts right next to teasing you. Where shall I find you?

Oh, is it really? I'm honored. Rolling her eyes at his remark, though quite funny, she continued, Meet at the cliffside when your done eatting and flirting, Harper.

It was at that moment, the two-toned brown maw gaped open at the remark as it caught him by surprise. Of course, Stry couldn't help but listen to what his remarks and compliments were but any subject that Piroth and Zalenth conversed upon always seemed to go stray as it took a more humorous and teasing approach than a serious conversation. That is except for when he complimented her, that would be when he'd actually let his heart speak.

Tearing away at his fresh kill, Zalenth was about to open his maw and speak but as Piroth's words wisped through his thoughts he refrained from his idea as his stomach directed his maw to its rigthful place. Gnashing and tearing away at his kill.

Selene returned Stryder's smile, "Hello Stryder." She turned back to the other girl still smiling, "Me? No, not yet. I'm hoping I'll Impress though. C'nor over there is a bronzerider though." C'nor looked up when he heard his name and nodded with a full mouth.

Kai's eyes widened, she murmured a hello, then dropped her gaze back to her plate.

Necia smiled at her friend's shyness, going for more food before tilting her head at Stry. "You still with us, Stry?" She asked cautiously.

Something is wrong? She seemed slightly upset, because he felt upset. Or startled. She couldn't tell which.
PostPosted: Thu Aug 04, 2005 12:00 pm

Stry perked up her head as she slid her fork down upon her plate, displaying a small smile as she looked up to Necia. "I'm here...I guess my minds been reveling in countless thoughts and worries lately."

Raising her mug of klah to her lips, she finished what was left of it and rose from her seat to refill her empty mug. Both invigorating and stimulating, it was klah that kept her mind continuosly aware and ponderous. The two-toned brownrider casually approached the steaming pot and slowly poured a brimming cup full as she inhaled the tantilizing auroma.

With everything seemed to be accounted for, Stryder returned back to her seat as she began to slowly sip at her klah. She savored the taste. It was sudden when she pondered quite a random thought, she couldn't let it linger in her mind for too long.

"Necia," Stryder looked over to her with a more pleasent smile, "sooner or late Zalenth and Piroth will you know...take flight." Wrapping her hands around her mug as she welcomed the warmth, she sighed. "How long have they been fond of one another?"

Zalenth gazed upwards, his muzzle drizzled with blood, tilting his head curiosly at the scarlet. Stry feels confused and upset this evening, it is not like her to be so bound in conflicting emotions.

Softly nudging Piroth, his eyes whirled with green and blue hues as he manuvered his snout to brush against her neck ever so tenderly.

Don't let my emotions distract you from eatting your fill for all is well.

Necia blinked, not used to discussing something like that in front of others- even though she was never shy about private things- and slowly set aside her food, regarding Stryder carefully.

"A while now. But due to your... preferences, it seems both felt it best to keep only as close friends. Why are you asking about this now?"

Kai looked between the two, then carefully sipped her juice, trying to avoid intruding on a private meeting between the two.

If you say so, Zalenth, she replied skeptically, carefully taking wing to pick another bird from the edge of the flock.

Whisping her razored bangs far from her emerald eyes, she looked up to her friend. "I've shifted my preference since Zalenth and I left for Benden, though at steady pace."

She sipped lightly from her mug, hoping that Necia or anyone else wouldn't be suddenly alarmed by the truth she spoke. It had taken her time to realize that she could never truly love a man nor could she have Zally endeavour within a preference he didn't want to be apart of. Rather than sentencing her beloved two-toned brown, she would have to shift views that she already accepted but to a higher degree.

Zalenth rumbled softly, still holding back more information than what was revealed to Piroth yet his mind urged him to just eat and wait for her return. He blew a breeze of hot air and dipped his head back towards his kill, though constantly his eyes watched the scarlets graceful movements within the air.

Necia just stared a moment, face totally blank, then blinked, and blinked again. Leaning back in her seat, she just stared at her friend in silence another long moment.

"Oh."

She sounded slightly faint, and maybe a little confused in that one word, but quickly regained herself, pulling her short red hair behind her ear. Looking for something to do with her hands, she picked up her cup, looking into it. "So when Piroth's next Flight occurs, and I'm assuming Zalenth will be there...."
