@Foxii: I'm no one really special in this guild, but I'll say that you can get money on Gaia by socializing a lot on forums (posting, in other words), playing a lot of zOMG (it takes a bit of time in the beginning, but it's worth it in the end), playing Booty Grab (I don't know if it's still up or not though), and multiple other little things.

Pretty much, interact a lot on Gaia.

You mean get lots of gold... as in, be able to afford really pricey items & s**t?

Well, the only ways to do that quickly are either spend a s**t ton of money on Gaia Cash, or Exchange/Vend.

How do you usually recruit people in the guild?

I'm sorry if I'm sounding a bit paranoid, but usually I sent out requests to join guilds or I am talking directly with a recruiter to join a guild.
