I will, and thanks. Believe it or not, your pep brought me out of a slump. Before I make any changes, do you have any suggestions on what you'd like to see? Maybe stories, all kinds of stuff. I'm think I may even include a subforum not tied to the game system although the guild's general focus is that system.

Yay I'm peppy! Thank you caffeinated beverages!
Hmm...I think that once we get a huge list of monsters, we'll be set. If I think of anything, I'll make sure you know.

And now to get to work on the Monster Lists and the Giving Heart Badge!
Once I finish compiling my notes on Monster Creation into a notebook so I don't have to flip between monster stats and the rulebook on my iTouch, I'll make a topic for monsters and their stats. Hmm...Or maybe a subforum...Don't worry I'll donate the 2,500 gg. Woot only 7,500 gg away!

Popped in an extra forum for now, Archives is always open!
And as I mentioned earlier, I may be condensing the kingdoms and stuff down to one, keep it one world per subforum.

Kee-hee-hee-hee-hee! Through an amazing amount of luck and work, I have finished my 50 page novel on monster creation and have found a complete list of monsters and their abilities for Final Fantasy VI! With an army of monsters at my command, I shall take over the world! Kee-hee-hee-hee-hee!
Anyways, I'll begin with some of the low-level monsters on the list and see how they add up against a party of three or four people. I'll begin to try posting some monsters this afternoon. I'll probably post a separate topic containing the monster abilities, so that there is an easy reference just in case a monster uses 50gs and nobody knows what that is.

After making the guard as close to it's original FF6 counterpart, I have had to tone it down because it could kill me in one hit, and was the first enemy you encountered in FF6, and the first monster is usually the weakest. Am I right? The changes will be added to the guard ASAP.

Hehehe...As it turns out, I'm keeping the guard, and making a weaker grunt. The guard can be like the parties first Notorious monster. The grunt is Level 3 and has much lower stats than the guard (speaking up stats, I screwed up the guard's stats. I'll fix that soon.) I'm planning on making monsters other than guard-type monster things.

So how's everyone doing? I'm feeling a bit lonely here... Now if only I had song lyrics for loneliness...
I am so looooooooonely. I'm feelin' so loooooooooonely. Because I'm so loooooooooonely. With nothin' to doooooooooo.
I've just got some NNNNNPPPPPPCCCCs. A Guard, a Grunt, aaaaaand me. They're tryin' to kiiiiiiiiill me. I'm feelin' so loooooooooonely.
I've got this eeempty feelin' insiiiide. Like a swoooord has stabbed me in the siiide. My HP is at zeeee-eeeerooo. I am cuureently KKKKKKKOed.
My corpse is so loooooooooooonely. It's feelin' so looooooooonely. Does anyone have Pheeeeeoniiiiix Down? My blood is stainiiiiiin' theeee ground.
I can't think of more woooords toooo the song. La la laa laaaaaa laaaaaa la. I just sounded like those tiiiii-iiimes when Square Enix is too lazy to add more words to the song so they just add las and it's really annoying and uncreative but original because most video games songs have real words to them even though today's pop culture is feelin' so laaaaaaaa-laaaaaaaa-ly. La la la la laaaaaa laaaaa la. *music fades*

So...When do we get to do stuff?
(I was looking at the battles at Karse Stadium and I just realized that there were monsters at the stadium. Is there a list of monster stats somewhere?)

Nothing all that special... EXCEPT A BESTIARY!! It doesn't have stats, but stats shouldn't be hard to produce, right? (I sincerely hope not...)
Adamantoise - A turtle of immense size, the Adamantoise is a near-legend. Very little is known about them, due to their rarity. Larger than most ships, the Adamantoise's shell is said to be tougher and stronger than any other material known. They are not outright aggressive, but defend their territory fiercely if threatened and have been known to cause damage by accident due to their size. One is known to be living in Caidas Lake - others are suspected in similar deep bodies of water, but have not been confirmed.
Bandit - Also called thieves, thugs, and many other things. A human (or other intelligent species) who makes a living via theft and violence. They range from back-alley muggers to roguish air pirates, with nearly every variation in between.
Bloomlich - An unusual form of undead, this floating zombie is composed mostly of decaying flower petals. While it is animated from a person, it is more plant than humanoid. Bloomliches are highly poisonous, and are capable of pulling the life-force out of victims. This process will often create another bloomlich shortly afterwards from the victim's body. While rarely seen, they are capable of spreading quickly.
Bomb - Made of living flame, Bombs are the most common elemental personification. Floating in the air, their spiked sphere body is offset by stumpy arms and a distorted large mouth. They are extremely violent, setting ablaze any flammable material they can find. In combat, they are best known for self destructing if suitably provoked.
Chocobo - A large, usually land-bound bird that is used as a mount and beast of burden by civilization. They come in a great variety of hues, most common being yellow. Some have unique abilities, such as flight, breathing underwater, curative energies or even sentience. They are usually friendly and peaceful, but can lash out with painful results if provoked enough.
Chocobo Eater - Squat, gawky and long-armed, this beast is surprisingly fleet of foot. It has a voracious appetite for chocobo meat, but will eat just about anything else it can reach if none are available. Eaters are semi-intelligent and are advanced enough to communicate with grunts and hoots as well as use basic tools (such as clubs).
Couerl - This tiger-like giant cat looks very physically fearsome - white with black stripes, great teeth, sharp claws, and two tentacle-like feelers stretching out from the sides of the mouth. However, it is not their bite which should be feared, but their inherent connection to manaflows. Couerls are natural spellcasters, and fierce opponents. Territorial predators, they will usually only attack to defend their territory or if someone looks like easy prey. This, unfortunately, usually includes the likes of children, Moogles, and particularly slow Qu.
Crab, Giant - A supersized version of the standard crustacean, giant crabs are nonviolent and passive most of the time. However, they are most often seen being used by sahagin as mounts of war. In those circumstances, they are deadly combatants with tough natural armor and large, sharp claws.
Dog - Dogs are domesticated wolves - a step down on the aggression ladder, but a step up in terms of trouble. They are frequently trained for guard duty or to attack, and are used as shock troops by many human groups. Dogs are also known to attack people if they've gone feral or rabid. However, this is much less common.
Dragon - Calling one of these a lizard would be a dangerous misnomer. Dragons are an entirely different class of beast - normally larger, smarter and more dangerous than lizards are. One of the key differences is that dragons are magical creatures rather than natural, providing them greater intelligence, elemental and mystical powers, and frequently considerably greater strength than any lizard could muster.
Drake, Chromatic - Drakes are the draconic equivalent of a dog. They are non-sentient, predatory and aggressive. Normally lacking elemental powers, the Chromatic variety are magically imbued but are elementally unstable. They are the result of human interference rather than natural development, and the changes tend to drive them even wilder.
Elemental, Gaia - An extremely rare elemental, the gaia elemental is a combination of all the elements into a single being. They do not go through the normal stages of growth like most elementals do, but are spontaniously formed by the combination of other elementals. Scholars believe that the gaia elemental's purpose is to bring the mother Feystone to a new location, allowing new colonies of elementals to be born - this is unconfirmed, as the raw power of a gaia elemental is too fierce to remain close to and observe.
Elemental, Nega - Legendary among elementals, the nega elemental is actually lacking an elemental property. No sightings of one is actually recorded, and many scholars believe it is merely a myth. Nega elementals only exist in theory.
Elemental, Spark - The smallest form of elemental, this being is composed purely of magical energy. Elementally charged, they appear around naturally formed magicite in swarms. Only perhaps one in ten sparks grows to become a proper elemental. Individually, sparks are no more dangerous than a wasp; but as a swarm, they can incapacitate and eventually kill a person. It is believed that sparks are unintelligent, at least at this stage. Varieties cover all nine major elements, as well as the extremely rare healing elemental.
Fang - A wolf-like creature, fangs are mostly noted for their aggression. Pack hunters, they are normally led by a larger and stronger Alpha and prey on surprisingly large opponents. Unlike most wolves, fangs have no hesitation in attacking settlements or potentially dangerous opponents.
Flan - Curious jello-like amorphs, flans are a scientific puzzle. No one is really sure how they work; just that they're bouncing slime creatures. There is a wide variety of species of flan, though most share a few common traits - they are acidic, elementally charged, magically active and surprisingly resistant to physical damage. It is unclear if they are intelligent or even truly alive.
Flan, Pudding - One of the smallest variety of flan, puddings are usually brown or white-grey in color. Poisonous as well as acidic, puddings are actually favorite tools of assassination. Their small size lets them be easily stored in bottles and smuggled in through security, while their natural abilities make them quite capable of killing a target and dissolving most of the evidence.
Float-Ball - This strange plant creature is a mixture of venus flytrap and gas-bag. Floating in the air like a balloon, the plant sphere moves on the wind to find prey. When it locates it, the sphere opens up a large set of jaws and swallows the victim whole. The plant as a whole is fragile and easily popped.
Giant - An extra-large Hume, giants stand roughly three times as high and weigh almost four times as much. They are known for being very strong, but also not particularly smart. While they are certainly sentient, their kind are close to being large goblins - they are raiders who take from smaller, weaker races to survive rather than making their own way. There are no known instances of friendly relations with giants.
Goblin - Runty humanoids about the size of dwarves, goblins are a general pest and menace to society. Unproductive and lazy, they survive by raiding and scavenging from other races. They are well known for a sour disposition as well as being extremely greedy and gluttonous. Goblins tend to make their homes in hidden, often-avoided places near civilization - such as sewers, small caves and abandoned buildings. There are a number of subspecies of goblin which can usually be spotted by differences in skin color.
Goblin, Red Cap - Likely the naturally toughest goblin subspecies, Red Caps frequently take control of other goblin tribes by literally beating the others into submission. For a goblin, they are strong, tough, and reasonably intelligent. By goblin standards. They are normally identifiable by their bright red skin color - except the tops of their heads, which are usually another shade entirely. Their name comes from that they frequently wear dyed red caps to cover up this spot.
Imp - Small humanoids, imps are frequently mistaken for goblins. However, they are actually quite different. Imps share some traits with goblins - they're small humanoids who are considered by many as pests. However, they are not scavengers like goblins are; imps instead are quite happy to work with others. These jobs are usually menial, but facilitate the imp's favorite things in life - causing violence and mischief. They can be excellent guards and workers, if allowed to generally make someone's life miserable. They're not picky about who's. It should be noted that while goblins fight dirty, imps fight filthy and no tactic is too despicable or disgusting for them.
Mage - A catch-all term for magic users of any race, mages are a rarity in the world. Few are able to dedicate themselves as fully as is needed to the practice of magic and have the talent needed to do so properly. Perhaps one in a thousand people has the talent and drive required to be called a mage. Typically, mages are physically fragile but bolster themselves with a variety of spells and magical effects. For obvious reasons, rogue or criminal mages are considered a significant threat as their potential power is much, much greater than the average bandit.
Merfolk - With pale blue skin, fish-like lower bodies and elongated webbed digits, merfolk are rarely seen on the surface. Isolationist, they hide at the bottom of lakes and shallow oceans. They are believed to be as civilized as any Hume or Elf, but their xenophobic attitudes make any sort of working connection impossible. Very little is known about them directly, other than that they raid passing surface ships and settlements on occasion. Scholars theorize that this is to protect their territory and frighten surface dwellers away from the water.
Mouse, Reaper - Tiny grey mice who live in the Ember Wastes. While no larger than a normal mouse, they possess strength equal to tigers. Due to their blighted homeland, they are unnaturally tough and strong. Omnivores, they will eat anything they can get their tiny paws on - including trying to eat things many times their size.
Pisco Demon - A slimy humanoid with a squid for a head, the pisco demon is well known for terrorizing sailors. While physically weak, their danger is in the use of high-pitched sounds that confuse and incapacitate victims. Little is known about these aquatic creatures, other than that they attack ships and try to drag sailors back into the water. To the best of scholarly knowledge, they are not actually demons.
Pisco Demon, Squidlarken - A slight variant on the pisco demon, the squidlarken is primarily differentiated by it's toxic ooze. While like the pisco demon it is covered with a layer of slime, the squidlarken's slime is a highly potent contact poison. Since the only visible difference between the two types are some slight coloring changes and the squidlarken's more foul scent, this has caught more than a few poor warriors by surprise.
Rat, Giant - Many young adventurers, soldiers, guards and would-be heroes get their start fighting giant rats. Plentiful pests, they commonly dwell in sewers and abandoned buildings. This giant variety is the size of a small dog - because of this, they have a much larger appetite and are more aggressive when chasing food. Giant rats frequently carry disease and while they try to avoid dangerous confrontations will usually fight in a wild rage if cornered or wounded.
Sahagin - These fish have developed frog-like rear legs and the ability to grasp objects with their front fins. Deadly fighters, they are known to hunt pisco demons for food. While there are reports of sahagin farming kelp, they are more frequently seen staging viking-style raids on surface settlements. Wielding heavy tridents, armored with coral and riding giant crabs, sahagin are very formidable in battle. They try to strike from ambush whenever possible, and demonstrate surprisingly high intelligence. However, they are inherently unfriendly and appear to regard surface people as a food source.
Scorpion, Skull - Giant scorpions, these nasty creatures are known primarily for their macabre camouflage. They themselves are a deep, rough black in color, with white highlights. Those highlights mimic the layout of a skeleton, and when the scorpion lays partly buried in the ashes of the Ember Wastes it can be easily mistaken for a body. They frequently lay in ambush among the actual dead and in abandoned campsites.
Scouter - Magitech robots, it is unclear where the scouter is originally from. The purpose is fairly clear, however - information gathering. Scouters come in several designs but share a few common traits. They are stealthy, frequently leaving no tracks at all. Their construction is of low end materials, as they are considered disposable and expected to be destroyed in the field. They are also non-aggressive. They will investigate and analyze whatever they come across, sending or storing the information they gather. But while not attack initially, they are almost always armed and will act in preemptive defense if they observe something that could be a threat.
Shantak - While some would call this large monster bird-like, they would be wrong. The shantak is closer to a bat - and is in fact a lizard. With leathery, scaled wings and a narrow snake-like body, it is surprisingly fast and agile in the air for a beast larger than a chocobo. A wide mouth with sharp predator's teeth make it capable of grabbing easy hold of prey on a fly-by. Shantaks are primarily found in the Basilicus Desert, where the warn sun keeps their cold-blooded bodies active.
Skeleton - The re-animated bones of a dead humanoid. Animated by dark magic or a curse, they unintelligently rattle around and attack any living thing they come across. Like most undead, they are unthinking, unfeeling and relentless. Most skeletons are armed with weapons (and possibly armor) from their past lives.
Snow Turtle - A massive land tortoise, the Snow Turtle is named for the pure snow-white shell on its back. Generally non-aggressive, the Snow Turtle lives in mountain ranges and is often mistaken for a house-sized boulder.
Spider, Brown Widow - A giant spider, brown in color. Highly poisonous and capable of expelling that poison in a large, toxic cloud. Ambitious and often tries to snag victims many times larger than it.
Spider, Fire - Tiny, normal-sized spiders that individually are barely noticible. However, they are imbued with fire elemental magic and can be quite problematic. Alone, the heat they generate can potentially cause larger fires, much to the surprise of homeowners. In large groups, they are capable of overwhelming much larger prey through a combination of poisonous bites and heat.
Spider, Giant - When one says 'giant spider', it's fairly obvious what that means. Most giant spiders are around the size of a dog - though a few rare specimens have reached chocobo-sized proportions. They are universally poisonous, fast, can climb walls with no difficulty and most spin webs or use other implements to ambush victims. Giant spiders have no qualms about attacking people and are generally quite dangerous.
Tree Bat - Normally, this jungle dweller is a fruit-eating bat that appears only at night. They have been known to attack, but such cases are unusual and usually only happen if the bat is cornered or ill. They are often mistaken for vicious monsters due to their large size and that nobody likes bats.
Tree Lizard - The size of a small dog, the tree lizard is normally found in the Tenggara jungle. Fast and agile, it is expert at climbing and running along the trunks of trees. While a predator, its bite is fairly weak. It hunts by instead chewing certain poisonous fruits and spitting the pulp at prey. They quickly succumb to the poison, allowing the tree lizard to attack and eat at its leisure.
Vampire - Fleshy undead, vampires are one of the most intelligent forms of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of victims, and are many times tougher than the rank and file zombies and skeletons. Frequently, vampires are master necromancers themselves and command large groups of lesser undead to do their bidding. It is also easy for them to disguise themselves, appearing to be normal people save for the deathly pale pallor of their skin.
Wapiti - Standing almost as tall as a man at the shoulder, this herd ruminant is a wilderness staple of the plains and central regions. It is notable for several things - the large amount of meat it gives, the green coat that provides it excellent wilderness camoflauge, and the large branch-like antlers on the head. They are non-violent herbivores that roam the plains, hills and woods freely. They're a favorite game of hunters; they're also considered in folklore to be a symbol of unity and togetherness.
Whale - Whales are easy to spot. They're big, blue, and live in the water.
Wolf - This wild canine is a pack hunter, and quite deadly in a group. While capable of bringing down a grown chocobo, they do not attack people often - instead preferring less dangerous prey. Wolves occasionally even work alongside people, showing a surprising amount of intelligence and civility.
