"Your revenge has takewn over your actions you do now only for revenge. If I wanted I could do the same thing but I will not, because we don't need a second masssacre though if you keep this up the order shall be given." Kasumi closed her eyes for a moment, her right leg was being to hurt worse and worse with each passing second it seemed like to her. She tried to look at Scar but her vision had gotten blurry and she couldn't tell where he or Nes was at.

"You are the ones who comitted the crime. You should have seen this coming. So I, an agent of god, will send you to the place where everyone of you belongs!" He shouted and began running for her. His red eyes gliscened in the light from fictures over head as he dashed towards the Furer.

Kasumi stood behind the spikes and glared at Scar as she grew a smug grin and snickered, "Scar you have sinned as well but at least we don't hide from it, God cannot help you." Kasumi held the hilt of her sword in her right hand then reached behind her grabing her gun out quickly as she shot at Scar stilll aiming for his right arm. She wasn't sure if she'd hit or not or even graze him for that matter.

Kasumi didn't move she wasn't going to. She realized as the current Furer she had to take responablity of what happened in Ishbal. She put her gun away and closed her eyes, "I see where your anger comes from. As Furer I take responablity for what happened. You have right only to kill me and no one else." Kasumi's voice was soft, almost gentle and at a time like this. She sheetthed her sword again as she bite her bottom lip as it was becoming harder to stay consious and stand up. She shook her head trying to stay concious but it wasn't helping. She stood there quietly awaiting her death.

Scar approached her rather quickly but then relised it was too late, he saw State Alchemists behind the Furer aiming their guns. One of which was Riza Hawkeye. He heard the sound of the loud of rounds being fed into their guns. Colonel Roy was along side with the shooters and was about to give the command to fire when Scar stopped dead in his tracks.

"Commence fire!" Shouted Roy.

It was then that Scar looked to his right and saw a one armed State Alchemist fly at him, he seemed rather familiar as the figure launged towards him. It was Matt the Forge Alchemist. Though he had one arm he put all of his might into his right hand, placed the palm of his hand against Scar's chest, and pushed him out of the way.

Most of the State Alchemist's shots had missed but Riza's would of hit Scar directly in the heart if it weren't for Matt's dareing save. Instead the shot from Riza had hit Matt in the shoulder, luckily the round had hit a piece of his auto mail, bouncing off and away.

Roy and the others stood in silence as they watched Matt save their true enemy. Nobody understood why a State Alchemist would save the killer, this caused suspicion throughout the platoon. However, Roy and Riza decided to save it for later and approach Kasumi to see if she was ok.

********************************

Scar felt the hard push from Matt, his metalic hand pressing firmly against the killer's chest. Matt leaped at such speeds that even if Scar was braced for it, he wouldn't of been able to avoid being pushed back. Shots rang off in his left ear followed by the wizzing by of bullets. Scar noticed the faint sound of a ding as one of the bullets had richocheted against Matt's right arm.

Matt had pushed Scar into another alley and before Scar could do anything the Alchemist shot up and blocked the alleyway before the others could chase after them. Even though he had only one arm he slammed his right hand into the ground and caused the ground to lift.

Scar stared at Matt suspiciously. The killer was now standing up and made no attempt to attack but Matt could only guess what the killer was about to attempt. "Why?" He asked. His red eyes glareing directly at the Forge Alchemist in curiousity.

Matt grumbled to himself before replied, "I was trying to save the Furer, and you." The look on Scar's face was almost priceless after hearing the end of the comment. "My dad had an Ishbal friend who was with him till the end. I never saw that man again from then on but I didn't care about the difference between my race and his, he was a good man and I respected him none the less." Matt added with a soft sigh he began to walk away. He knew he would be for surely punished after this but he only wanted to save both the Furer and Scar before the both of them made a mistake that they would regreat. His left sleeve was limp and torn up so his first assignment would be to enter the automail mechanic shop just outside of the main office; one of the newer buildings just recently build. "If we see each other again in a similiar situation, don't expect the same thing to happen." He wispered.

When Matt turned around he noticed Scar was no longer where he stood just a second ago. The killer had vanished and he had no real clue if the next time they met...they would be at each other's throats.

Kasumi smiled as she fell to the ground laying on her back, "I thought I told you guys to wait at heaquaters." Kasumi sounded angry or at least tried but she was exshuted and just needed to rest for a while. She closed her eyes and sighed, "I'll get him....I just need a rest." Kasumi sighed slowly trying to stay awake and aviod fainting. She tried to get up but she couldn't.

Right now she was disguisted with herself for having been so soft. Her right hand punched the ground out of anger, she couldn't help but feel weak and now she knew just how weak she truely was. Her bosy didn't move at all after she punched the ground.

Matt approached the front office. State Alchemists all around him stared quietly at the young Alchemist who had only one arm. His eyes focused on the automail shop next door, he was going to get his second arm weather the Furer stopped him or not. In his mind he thought what he had done was a little pay back from the past. It was a just action to him and yet everybody who he passed glared at him as if he were the enemy.

Finaly the alchemist approached the store. Jenkins was standing infront, his arms crossed and one foot rested behind him against the wall. The Gemini alchemist stared at Matt but didn't smile nor glare, he seemed more nuetral, however Matt feared the worst.

Matt procceded to the shop and walked up to the owner. Giving him a glare, waiting for the 'get lost traitor' or something like it. Now the Foge alchemist knew what it was like to be despised by even some of his past friends. To be looked down upon as an enemy more than an alley, either way, he wouldn't change what he did if he had the chance.

Kasumi sat up and sighed as she got up walking off towards headquaters. the back of her right pant leg was blod soaked. Her walk had a limp in it she was pretty sure she had cut a little bit deeper than she had needed to. Once at headquaters she went to her office and sat in her chair and sighed.

Right now she just wanted to go up to somene and slap them across the face. Kasumi wanted now more than anything a reason why Matthew had saved Scar. It could have ended right there, but it dind't. Now there was simply what to do since they no longer knew where Scar was.

Kasumi took her sword out of it's sheeth notocing it still had some of her blood on it. She though of how her legs froze up in the fight. She threw her sword to the side away from her and closed her eyes. She didn't want to admit it but she realized so many things form that fight. Many things she didn't want to admit was true. Kasumi lowered her head and muttered something under her breath then rested her head on her desk dozing off.

Matt entered the shop and to his surprise the shop owner paid no attention to him. Within a matter of moments the old man had created an identicle arm and then made preporations to reattach the left arm to Matt's body.

With a loud cry of pain, his arm was attached. The feeling of the nerves reconnecting sent shivers throughout his body, followed by pain. After a couple of seconds, the pain was gone and Matt tested his arm out, stretching and moveing it around to exercise it. He flicked his wrist so his hole hand slightly poped, exposing a small compartment just under his wrist. It was a spark emitter, once a spark is triggered he could manipulate the molecules in the air and compress them to create bigger flames. Unlike Roy, he couldn't make bombs but he could make large colomns of flames out of his arms, basicly he could transform both arms into flamethrowers.

The ability to create fire completed the second half of his title. 'The Fordge Alchemist' a seceret name for Vulcane, the Alchemist of Fire and Metal, which origonated from the Roman god Vulcan. Matt grew up as a little child, always fascinated by fire. Once he learned how to use the smallest of flames with alchemy he would transform campires into giant statues of concentrated heat.

Now that Matt was satisfied with his work he left the building only to see Kasumi walking up the steps toward the front office. It would be only a matter of seconds until she noticed him, so he made a quick attemp to dodge into a small hiding place. Four Alchemists siezed him before he could move and calmly he was taken away and brought to the Furer. Others gathered around as Matt and Kasumi stood face to face.

Matt knew it would only be a matter of time before he would be sentences to prison and suffer from having his libertiesed stripped away. It was something he feared more than anything but he would stand tall and proud no matter what.

Kasumi looked at matthew as she went over to him. She stared angerly at him. She raised her right hand and slapped him across the face. "If any more state alchemist are killed you will be held responable for their deaths. You realize that don'e tou?" Kasumi spoke without anger in a casual voice though she was probably more angry than eever, at least not since he parent's death she had not been this mad at anyone. "Appearntly none of understand what's going on and what the big problem with Scar killing us is. But I suppose it would be best if you don't know." Kasumi turned away from matthew and sighed, there wasn't much else to say really or rather not anymore she wanted to say.
PostPosted: Fri Mar 04, 2005 9:26 pm
Matt's head turned from the hit and he paused for a moment to savior the pain while she shouted at him. As crule and painful as it may have sounded he didn't tear up and he refrained from letting his emotions get the best of him. The Military trained him well and when it came to disobiance he could take the punishment now matter how big the beating was.

He took a deep breath and then slowly brought his head to face her. His green eyes stared directly at Kasumi as if he were expected something else. "I understand." He replied from her comment about him being responsible. In a way he did wish he could change time but something told him to refrain from doing so if he had the chance.

The alchemist wanted to say that he wouldn't of changed anything even if regreated doing it or if he had the chance. But her being of higher power, she would of probably done something else to unleash her rage.

******************************************************

Scar stood silently, resting his back against the a solid wall. He stared down at a puddle of water infront of him and tried to understand who he once was. The question 'why' kept running through his head, "Why did he do it? After I nearly destroyed him. Why?" The killer continued to think to himself. Scar wanted answers from this alchemist and he wanted them now but he figured it would only be a matter of time before the Furer would place him in prison or somewhere Scar couldn't reach him.

There was something bigger going on with this young alchemist. Even though he was a member of the State, to him Matt seemed to have a personal conflict with his own soul. Scar wanted to make it personal responsibility to find out even if Matt decided to fight him again.

Kasumi paused for a moment she wasn't sure what to do with him. A part of her wanted to send him to prision and a part of her didn't want to. "For now you'll have an escort until I can figure out what do with you." Kasumi placed her right hand on her forehead. She looked away from Matthew, personaly she couldn't believe she's letting her rage get the better of her. She closed her eyes trying to relax. She looked at Matthew, "Sorry for the slap."

Kasumi actully for once did seem sorry, something that was a extermly rare event. She opened her eyes a little bit caming to her senses. For some reason she seemed to be busy in thoughts. Almost like she wasn't there really. She remembered the look in the eyes of the Ishbalans when they killed her father than Scar's eyes. They both had that same look in them. The pure hatered for the state alchemists showed in their eyes, yet she knew she had the same hatered against the people of Ishbal. It made her sick that she could hate a person that much.

"Just one last quesetion, Why would you save someone would kills us state alchemists?" Kasumi took her hand off her forehead placing her hands in her pockets. Her voice sounded much calmer and she did seem a lot calmer now which was better since she hated herself after she go angry at someone especialy another state alchemist.

Rain, it was like a melody her heart couldn't stop dancing to it as she smiled, she wasn't in her state uniform for the moment, she was taking a small break as she walked down the gray streets, rain drizzling over her small slender form. Her hay golden hair down a dark tawny sticking to her face and clothing as she shook it off, though most useless as it just came back at her. She glanced around looking for the main building, still a ways off.

A flicker of shadows as she turned some glancing behind her tilting her head slightly, her gray eyes gleamed with curiosity as she turned walking back peeking down a darkened ally way to a stranger, he seemed quite troubled.. She gulped a moment and stood in front of the entrance calling out,

"Uhmm. Hey, are you alright in there?"

She awaited a reply, though nothing came but the music of the rain. Pulling her hair back behind her ears she looked nothing more then a child, what reason did anyone to think she was a State alchemist? A small crescent moon waved back and worth as she moved on the lobe of her ear, she took a step into the ally way completely ignorant to who was inside.

Matt said nothing, not an acception or a decline to her appology. Yet he wanted to tell her that he wouldn't of forgiven her because she didn't have to apologize. He felt like he was wrong but something inside told him to keep believeing in himself no matter what path it lead him on. He saluted to her and began to walk away when two State Alchemists blocked his path. One of them was a son to Alex Luis Armstrong and the other was just some Sargent.

Either way, the two blocked his path to the door so he couldn't leave. That's when he heard Kasumi's last question. It was a question he had hoped she wouldn't of asked. With a soft sigh he turned to face her and made no faceial expretion, "Because of something I failed to do in the past when I had the chance." He wispered and let his head drop.

Images of his past poored into his head. The alchemist wanted to cry but nobody could tell from the outside. Inside his heart squeezed tightly and he could feel his jaw muscles ache from stopping himself from clenching his teeth.

*********************************************

Scar turned his head to see a young girl call out to him. There was no real reason to panic since she didn't appear to be dangerous. With that he simply replied, "It's none of your concern." He rolled down his sleeve to his right arm to cover up his tat. The killer lifted himself off of the wall and began to walk away. Matt Edison still on his mind as he went to find out what has become of the Fordge alchemist.

She blinked, it was obvious they guy wasn't fine. He seemed upset or frustrated, she had a way of knowing these things. She trotted after him her hands grasped behind her back as she was quite reluctant to let him off to easily.

"Are you Sure? Not hurt or anything are you?"

As far as she see he hadn't been wounded, but only the eyes told so much. She brought her hands to her chest crossing them over the black T-shirt as it rippled down over her belt of her pants, them as dark as black nearly in the dim light and from the soaked fabric. She now nearly walking behind. He mind was telling her to turn back and mind her own business, though her curiosity drove her to do this, a silly childish quote echoed in her mind a moment,

"Curiosity killed the cat.."

"We all failed to do many things in the past, yet it's because of what we failed to do that is the reason many of us are still alive today. The past is the past and there is nothing we can do about it. If we made a mistake in the past it's best not to repeat it."Lasumi words were soft, and gentle sounding. She turned away form mathew and closed her eyes. "I know what it's like to make an unforgivable mistake. Wanting to help someone at the cost of your own life." Kasumi sighed opening her eyes some looking at her sword on the floor then she turned her head towards Matthew.

Kasumi walked over to matthew and smiled, "If we could change the past amny of us would not be here today. If I had went to help my father I probably would have been killed alongside him, but I was too weak to do anything." Kasumi realized what she said and turned her head away and wanted to slap herself for saying that. She never did like to talk about that time and never has. She tightly closed her eyes and lowered her head her hands tightly clentched into fists. She didn't say anymore she stood there silently not moving not making a single sound.
